When someone reaches such an extraordinary level in any field, like Scottie Scheffler has in golf, it’s hard to stand out for anything else. However, the world No. 1 has managed to make an even bigger impression for his character and personality, or at least that’s the opinion of Ludvig Aberg.
The Swede recently gave an interview to the Golf Channel’s “5 Clubs” show, during which, among other topics, he shared what has impressed him most about Scheffler. Naturally, Aberg praised his colleague’s performance over the last two seasons.
“Obviously his golf speaks for itself,” Aberg said. “We’ve all seen it. We’ve all watched him win multiple tournaments over and over again, and it seems like he’s doing it with such ease now. I feel like he’s really figured out how to put the extra gear in when he needs to.”

However, Aberg revealed that he admires Scheffler’s ability to stay true to himself even more, despite his many recent successes.
“All those things are obviously really impressive, but I think … I mean, I haven’t known him for that long, about two years maybe, not even, and his rise have been quite substantial in the last couple years, but he’s always been the same as a person ever since, and I think that’s more impressive, because he’s got a lot of reasons to sort of … not float away, but like, change in the way that he views things.
“From the outside looking in, it doesn’t seem that way. It seems like he’s very grounded. He cares about the things that he cares about and nothing else. And he really values those things, and I think that’s more impressive than winning 14 events in two years or whatever it is.”
Many fans, media and players have highlighted Scheffler’s modest demeanor, which tends to stay out of the spotlight despite being by far the best player in the world today. In fact, it’s very difficult to find information about him outside of the weeks in which he competes.
Combining the 2024 and 2025 seasons, Scheffler has won 12 PGA Tour events, including three major championships. His tally rises to 14 when you add the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and the title in the unofficial Hero World Challenge that same year.
Aberg will be playing in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club, England, next week, after which he will join the European Ryder Cup team for a scouting visit to Bethpage Black. There, he will compete in his second career appearance at the biannual event, from Sept. 26-28.
