Insane 2v1 Scramble against Best Golfer at Blue Ash Golf Course!

[Music] Daniel get you a different club. Why do you want to hit that? I haven’t seen you hit one good shot of that. He’s sprinting to the cart. He’s sprinting to the cart. He’s running as fast as he can to the cart. I’ve never seen anybody hit a ball on the down swing. He knows at the top. [Music] Right. Go. Ellie, if you guys win, I’ll buy you a new golf ball. That’s a mess. This is This is a very vital putt that you’re going to have to figure out before we start. You know, the 60footer down a absolute mountain of a ramp. He’s going to he’s going to figure it out hopefully soon cuz if he doesn’t, we’re we’re in trouble. We’re out here at Blue Ash Golf Course. We have Joe Rusk. I think I got that right. Elliot rearing. We are going to do the traditional 2v1. Um he doesn’t really hasn’t really divulged how good he is. I’ve been told by the clubhouse folks that he’s very good. So, my guess is that he’s probably a plus handicap, which means that we’re going to have to play relatively well. 2v1 scramble. Me and Elliot going to scramble. He’s going to play his own ball. Um, you know, we try to make this even in the past and what we quickly realized is that when we try to give other people mulligans or strokes or something along those lines, we end up not playing well at all and it’s embarrassment. So, we’re not going to do that. Will we like to just smoke you? Yes. Are we going to do that? Probably not. Playing the back nine today. Uh, we’ll have some fun. A lot of good golf balls out here. We will do our best. That’s what we’re going to do. Uh we’ll let you have the honors. Appreciate that. We’ll let you have the honors. We’ll see how nervous I am, right? Yeah, exactly. I mean, these cameras, they do they do get bright as we all know. They’re very bright. Um par five, it’s getable. If you hit a long one, um you got the whole planet out to the right. There’s OB left of those traps. Uh so, anything over by the car path is fine. and left side of the fairway is best. But again, the safe play is going to be out to the right. Automatic right there. Good. Automatic. I think he just literally got out of the car, hit five putts, and did that. So, there’s that. Ellie, go ahead and follow it up. You want me to go first? Yeah, go ahead and follow. This is See, this is where we start to lose it right off the rip. Number one, I’m playing from the tips. I’m not a guy who plays from the tips, but we’re going to do it today. My favorite thing is that Joe is like, “Oh, I didn’t even ask.” I mean, it’s just assumed. It is assumed by guys that are pretty decent at this game. It’s actually pretty good. Yeah, plenty good there. It’s pretty good. I mean, should you play from the tips more often, maybe? Yeah. Well, he said right is good. Uh, that doesn’t bode incredibly well on the first T- shot of the day for me because I don’t know which way the ball’s going, but we’re going to try to hit it out to the right. Right. It’s right. It’ll be fine over there. There’s some trees. Probably a layup, but not. All right. It was right. I was trying to hit it right. I think I hit it too far right. Trying to figure out how I can say right again. How many rides can you say in one minute? I’m going for the right. Okay. And then this other tree that’s over to the left is in front of a bunker that’s greenside. The the evergreen looking one. Uh yeah. So that is 215 to that. I would just go on that line. Elliot with your little cut back to the middle. Uh now Joe doesn’t know this. He’s he’s basically our team captain at this point. He’s setting up our shots. So I appreciate that. I’m a terrible golfer. Um and we’re going to get that out of the way real early. Thank you. Great shot. That was a great shot. Ripping a 3-wood. That’s what we’re doing here. All right, we got two. Not hit well, but hit well enough. All right, got about 250 for my approach. Kind of a blind shot, but the green’s pretty much straight ahead. Try to hit something up the left and cut it with a 3-wood. Kind of on the outer limits of my range, but we’ll see if we can tag one here. A little heavy in the left. All right. Well, rangefinder is just not operating right now. It’s just going to be a field shot. Even though I always like to know the number, I don’t get to know the number. I need a I need a rangefinder that works. I got one in my bag. 37 yards. Magically works. hit it. You know, I’m think it’s starting to look like one of those days where I’m just going to go first. You know, you know what I’m saying? But that’s his only first shot. We’ll give him a chance. Hit the pin. Come on. Hit the pin. Did hit the pin, though. Hit the pin. How many times you get to hit the pin out here? He good. We’re pin chasing today. Look at that. I don’t know. Sometimes you get lucky. Uh Joe has no clue how bad we are, but right now looks like we’re great. On target, baby. So, out of their two options, I think they took the worst one or the harder shot. Uh they did pretty well with it. Elliot about split the pin in half and then Trace hit the pin with a good shot. They got about six feet for birdie. Uh we’re going to try to get this one in range. Not my uh not my favorite part of the golf course, the short game, but we’ll see if we can give ourselves a birdie putt. Nope. All my buddies that know my golf game were expecting that and I delivered. The answer is no. It’s like I babysit this kid every day, you know? I don’t have a marker. If I don’t have a marker, you know, we don’t have one. That’s where we’re at. So, at some point, maybe he’ll bring the marker out, but I don’t even know if he has a marker if we’re being honest. There it is. All right. Makes this bar good, right? That’s good. That’s good. All right. We have a 180 par 3 water on the left and there’s some bunkers over there on the left. So you definitely don’t want to go left. Right, as Joe said is the bailout. Um, can’t be incredibly short either because then you’ll be waterbound. So just takes a good quality shot and uh I’m going to let Elliot try to hit first one more time. We’re going to do this one more time and if you uncapable of hitting a decent shot, we’re just going to sw switch the order. You can’t you’re one up. You can’t switch. No, you can though. That’s the thing, okay? is that if you have to watch Joe has doesn’t know. We’ve lost a lot of these. A lot. We’ve lost almost too many to count. We won our first one last week and I played so bad that honestly there should be a documentary about it. Well, now see Joe said you can’t change up the order. And what I’d like to say is that’s exactly why we change up the order. Typically, when I’m hitting the ball, well, the last thing I want to see is splash down like one of them SpaceX deals in the middle of the ocean. But that’s what we found there. So, here we go. Just have to hit a quality seven. Be good. It is a little short left. That’s nice shot. Now, for the record, I want to make it clear my ball would have cleared it if I played from the correct TE’s, not the tips. I’m not an excused guy, but when you’re out in the golf course, make sure you play the right the right TE’s. Got to go. Run. Nice shot. Oh, barely got there. Little toe. We’re going to have to listen to him talk about playing the correct tea all day. That’s right. All right. So, they’re in there about 15 feet. They got a bit of a slider. This is all uphill. I can be a little aggressive with it, but we just got to get this one down in two and hope they don’t make all the way there. Right in the middle short. Stay good on this. That’s good. That’s good. Generous early. Oh, that ain’t generous. Get there. ball, dude. Good effort. He gave me a good effort. He’s got to get there. I don’t hate that. That was That was atrocious. I mean, I got I got I got a free putt at it and I was literally like 3 ft short. So that’s embarrassing. Whatever. Par. We move on. We’re not going to let it We’re not going to let it linger. We’re not going to let it linger. That was embarrassing though. Ellie, if you guys win, I’ll buy you a new golf club. That’s a mess. Hit the thumb on that. So, this is another ongoing bit here. I My brain’s broken and I can’t play golf without two gloves for some reason. So, I Aaron riot and I wear I have to go through two gloves. I’m not kidding a month. I go through two gloves a month. So, here’s the thing. He’s making fun of the exposed thumb. He’s not the first guy to do it. He won’t be the last guy to make fun of the exposed thumb. That’s how I just got to play until I get the new set of gloves. This is how we go. We go until the end of July. I’ve burned them out already through 20 days in July. Set of gloves is a new one. Set of gloves. If we’re not talking winter soft or rain gloves. All right. Good par. Aaron Ry does it. Like right. So really the play is over the corner. Um so for us it’s down the cart path with a cut. Probably got to carry it about 240. Anything left of that is safe. Um but you can chop off quite a bit of the hole by going over the trees. There is OB down the right side that you see. Okay, Trace, I don’t know. Can you work it left to right? That’s a no nod from him. So, he’ll just play it kind of straight down the tree line and if it fades left, he’s good. Um, but I know I can go left or right. I know I can go left or right. Yeah, I’d kind of aim left under the fairway or down the middle and let it peel back. That’ll be good for you. Problem with Elliots left or right it’s it’s 150 yards. So doesn’t really matter if you hit it that far. You just hit it straight every time. You know that’s what you should do. Especially from the tips. You think he’s going to tell you about the tip here in a minute? My guess is that before this before this hole is over, he will mention the tips. Good ball. That’s perfect. We’ll take that one. We will take that one. Two fantastic shots by my partner. Uh, he said, “Can you work it left or right?” That’s funny. Should I try that? I can try it. Uh, will it work out more times than not? No. So, that’s kind of like play your shot type thing. It looks like if I play it right down this tree line, though, that’s not a bad spot to go. So, that’s what I’m going to try to do. And there’s houses on the right. So, let’s not try to go left, right, because then it could snap hook into a living room, and I don’t want to do that. Really good. That’s good. That’s perfect. He’ll be right at the bottom in the middle. Thank you. Look like Scotty out there. Yeah, too. Scotty ru, you know, Scotty ruins my Sundays now. I don’t get to watch good golf anymore. That’s one way to put it. God, you hit that so good. That’s a pretty good golf shot if we’re being completely frank. He hit that so good. He’s got a backup driver, too. You see this back right here? Look at that. Perfect shot. This is what This is what my car has right here. You got a little backup cam. It’s the one fallback of this is sometimes I drag it on the takeaway. Really, but you didn’t drag us there. No, it worked. Trace hit another good one. He’s up in front of me a little bit. Got 137 here. Got to carry the bunker. Probably hit it out to the right. Try to draw something in. Solid. be good. Thank you. Can’t forget it. Also, I just want to know this is a new invention that I made up myself. I got a couple of what we call zip ties and some duct tape here. And I put an air tag on it. So, my my goal my goal is that I never lose another one of these. I’m about $2,000 in on them. And when I say $2,000, I buy like $200 ones, not the thousand ones. So, um, as I said before, this is the last one I’ll ever own. I hope that was. All right. Didn’t hit that good at all. 115 shot. That’s what we’re going to try to do. Hit a nice nice solid smooth swing right at the middle of the green. Good. Nice shot. All right. Pretty decent. Outrageous. As if the air tag is if Listen, even if he lost it with that air tag, he’s not going to come back and get that. No, you’re not. All right. Two birdie putts here. They get two chances at it, but I’m outside of them. So, if I make this, Trey said he’d leave his short. I like this. You’re going to have to make one of them. Seems I might as well make Might as well make it this one. The way you’re hitting it. No, he didn’t get it there. No. Let’s see a three. Oh, no. That’s good, by the way. Thank you. Good putt. Good. might have actually went in if you got the dirt off your ball. Stay on the outside. He left it short again. I got a major problem in my game. I really do. It’s this way every time. You know, I can blame it on slow greens. Today, the greens aren’t slow. I mean, I don’t know. I just Why Why can’t I get the ball to the hole? I get it’s uphill. Like that isn’t that is in the heart of the cup, you know. Next hole. We’ll go to the next hole. Bit of a shelf on the left side of the green. Pins over on the right today. As long as you carry the bunker, you should be in good shape. Um, right over the bunker. That’s the plan. Right over the bunker and see if we can get a putt to the hole. Come back. Is that a bunker? What is it? No, it’s just grass over there. I just think it probably plugged with how wet it is. All right. Feels like they open the door for me a little bit here. Anything on the green is good. Why just a little? If it gets there, it’s great. I think it’s great. Great shot. Thank you. Door was open. He took it. All right. actually makeable. I’m not going to say that you should make it cuz I don’t think you ever should make a chip, but it’s makeable. Um, this would be a devastating shot if we can do it. Starting to feel like a win on this hole, but Do it. All right, that’s good. Nice. I’m glad he did that. I’m really happy he did that. I’m I’m I’m proud of him for that one. All right. Uh all square through whatever. Four. Four. All square through four. Here we go. All right. 14 par4. Tight driving hole. We got a bit of a break with it being wet out. Um but got to keep it up the left side. Just hit the same cut that we hit on 12. It’s too far right, but I think it’ll be okay today. Nice and smooth. Try to just smooth it out to the middle. Hang on. Left, but might be okay. You get left of that tree there, you have a bit of an angle up to it. I don’t know. Felt good. I thought it was good. Had a little cut on it, but yeah, you’ll see when you get down there, it gets pretty tight. Hoping that it bounced right a little, but it is wet, so we’ll see. All right. Uh there’s a massive tree. Some are saying that we shouldn’t try to hit it over that, but I think we will. So, I’m going to let Elliot go first. Just do whatever. And then I’m going to I’m going to do I’m going to I’m going to hit the screen. Oh, he goes over it short. God, I hit that so good, dude. That rough just took it out of me in the bunker. 105 here. Pretty straightforward wedge. They’re both in bad spots, so just going to hit the green. Make a par worth. Try to take a lead into the 15. Mission accomplished. Didn’t put us in a good spot off the tea. So, paying for the consequences of that right now. Deep. Yeah. All right. He’s got an opportunity here to knock one in on us and uh take a lead. Hopefully, he is incapable of doing that and we have a chance to get up and down here and get our par and get out of here. So, we’ll see. That’s good. Thanks. Stay up. Get there. Get there. God, it’s a good putt. I mean, I don’t know. Could get mad at that if I want, but I be Yeah. Would I like to get it there? Yes. But I’m not going to get mad about that. All right. One up. One that hole with a par. That’s a bit of a gift. We’re on 15. Another par four. Fits my eye perfect. Just hit it out to the left and let it fade back. Pretty good. Thank you. All right. Looks like pretty straightforward hole. Is this par4? Uh, it is a par4. Two-tiered green. Just hit a cut off those bunkers. You’ll be great. Really good on the ground. Yep. Perfect. All right. Don’t even hit. Can’t hit 300. Elliot’s gonna pass on driving. That’s fine. We’re gonna have to get up and down. It’s really burning my ass that we’re giving holes away with bogeies with two guys playing golf now. Really, some would say it’s one guy, but I’m hoping two guys show up here soon. That’s what I’m 120 front pin. Got to keep it a little low to start. Thank you. about 117, something like that. U hit a 52. I’m going to try to hit it tight so we can get out of here with a birdie and put a little pressure back on him. Get get that hole back that we basically just handed to him. And by that hole, I mean the last two. So, three might be good enough for a tie. It might be. Come back. All right, Elliot. Good shot, Elliot. All right. Thank you. Left. Big big putts right here. Massive putts. Again, we’re not going to be overly ambitious with this. Get it down in two is number one priority here. It’s hammered stick. Some would say it’s it’s straight. I think it’s pretty straight. Pretty straight. Okay. Oh no. Couldn’t have hit a better putt. If he tried, he couldn’t have hit a better putt. That’s golf. Big putt right here. No one’s ever missed a eightfooter. They put those stats up on the screen. This one’s about 20% for me. Probably nine out of 10 golfers make this. All right. He gave us one back. We’ve been We’ve been gifting holes lately. Three last three holes have been gifted. Uh we’ll see if we can’t clean that up. But you know what? Uh I think it’s all square. Is that right? Is it all square? All square again. All square. Here we go. All right. 16. Three putted for five. Lost that hole. All square. Three to go. Uh par4 tight driving hole. OB left. OB right. Condo’s right. Um see how it goes. Just wanted to plant that seed for you. There’s trouble everywhere. You know what they say when there’s trouble everywhere. Just hit it down the middle. That’s what we’re planning to do right here. It’s going to be fine. Um there’s a couple fairway bunkers over there, but right of the bunkers is just rough. And if it’s long enough, it’s just rough. I’ll take it. I finally hit one straight. We can’t complain too much. That one goes straight. All right, though. Sit softly. I think you’re just on the edge. He’s on the edge of glory. That’s what some are saying. Out of all the ones to go straight out. Tracy’s got a good one out there. We got to follow that. What a really good. He knew it. He knew it as soon as he hit it. He just picked his key up and started walking. He sprinted to the cart. He’s sprinting to the cart. He’s running as fast as he can to the cart. I’ve never seen anybody hit a ball on the down swing. He knew it. At the top of his swing, he knew how good that was. All right, I got 137. Basically same distance as last hole. Pins tucked back left. Got a chance being good. That one’s solid. All right, found ourselves in a little fairway bunker here. Uh really good lie, so it shouldn’t be too big of a problem as long as we strike the ball way we’re supposed to. Um take a 48 degree, try to hit it close. Great. Please be good back there. Nice. Great shot. Thank you, man. All right. Listen, that’s why it’s important to play out of really nice bunkers like that. Was such a good lie. I mean, I’m not saying it’s the same as hitting out of a fairway, but as long as you make good clean contact, it kind of is. Hang on. Not too bad. Really? Good. Good putt. Good speed. Right to left. Let’s Let’s give it the full treatment. Stay up. Stay up. Yeah. Just got to get it out there a little bit more. All right. I think I’m I think my line’s perfect. I just got to hit it I got to hit it with the right speed. That’s all. Yes. Great putt. Lagged it. That’s just the way I putt. And if I try to do anything different, I’m like the worst scramble player. I kind of am because if I try to putt different than the way that I just putt, then for whatever reason, I just get out of sorts. If I just try to treat it like it’s my own ball, I’m a better putter. I might wind up barely short a couple times. So be it. Long hole. I’m going to hit a driver. These guys can go hit threewoods or three irons or two irons. I’m going to hit a driver. Perfect shot. Really good. That’s like exactly what I was trying to do. So, around the tree hit it. Okay. I brought a two iron here. I got to hit a two iron. Can I go get you a different club, please? You want to hit that? I haven’t seen you hit one good shot with that club. One up. I like the team descent though. You hear this? There’s some arguing. I mean, we’re in the fairway. I’m getting ready to hit a shot and now he’s arguing me, telling me I can’t hit this club. Well, you got no chance. That’s what you’re hitting. Not going to tee it up. It’s going to be stinger off the turf here. I believe in him. Never mind. I believe in him. This is going low right. Left one out of two. I told him not to hit it. I just begged him not to. He can hit those other clubs great. I just haven’t seen him hit that club good at all. All right, we’re going to hit a 3-wood right over the top of Elliot’s ball. picked it up quick. Yeah, it’s perfect. He said it’s perfect. And it is perfect. I don’t I don’t know this for sure, but I think that might be the first ball we used of all day. I was really trying to go all nine without it. That to be honest, that hurt my heart right there. Should have hit a different club, but doesn’t matter. Ellie got us in a good spot. Thank you. Hang on. Come back. Do something. All righty. And we got 140. Another pitching wedge. They both missed the green door. Slightly a jar. Try to hit a good one here. shot. Now, listen. I’m being honest with you. I told you last time that if it wasn’t for that T-shot, I think I could be wrong. I want to see if Joe knows, but I’m pretty sure we’ve used every single one of my shots. Yeah, I think Trace is one under. Think I’m even. I haven’t played my ball. I’ll play my ball here. That’s fine. That’s fine. I’ll play my ball right here. I’ll have dividing the team. What we’re doing is is now we now we’ve turned this into pissing Elliot off. That was maybe somewhat of the goal. This is good content. We’ll see if we can I tell you what. I’ll tell you what. I’ll tell you what. I’ll buy you I’ll buy you he’ll I don’t want to play. He said he’ll give you a golf club. I will buy you anything you want in the pro shop under $150. If you if you if you par this hole yourself. I’ve I’ve won that game so many times that I’m not going to even take it. I I I don’t I don’t want See, I mean, just got to lag it up there close and get out of here. Pulled it. Unfortunately, there’s no advantage for me giving you guys that putt. That’s just so good. We’re going to watch it. You have to watch it. Yeah, we’re going to watch it. I got it right. Uh I fractionally inside the right edge is what I got it. Whatever you Whatever you just play like your own ball. Play it like it’s your own ball. Did you push that? I just hit right. I aimed right side and I hit it too hard. Right side is in what? Inside the hole. Yeah, I aimed I just aimed right. I hit my line. I just hit it too hard. You told me to right side. How much did that help? Time out. I mean, I’m not trying to make fun of you. I’m just saying that you said you hit your line and you hit inside the hole. How’d it go outside the hole? You’re saying it broke, right? Huh? I’m saying I hit it too hard. Okay. It’s right center firm, right edge, not firm. Exactly. That’s what it is. Here’s the deal, though, just to be clear. We got a We got no one behind us here for a second. Before I make this putt, I want to say this is what I was just told by my pling partner. I aimed just to the right inside the hole. I hit my line. I hit it too hard, but the ball missed the hole all the way outside the cup to the right. It swirled around it. What are you talking about? So, I’m trying to figure out how that makes sense. I aimed it right side of the cup and it went around the cup. Here you go. This This is This is right center, right in the middle. Oh boy. I think it’s straight. Oh boy. I think it’s straight now. It said straight. I was told right side. I should have I should have I should have paid attention more. I think it’s straight. Doesn’t move. It’s impossible to make that move. What a gift. Let’s go to 18 all square, huh? You guys should have taken your lag putt. It was on an easier line and you got to watch it go right past the hole. I didn’t like my putt just because it looked like if we would have played that angle. I think it just I I thought that one was straight is why I did it. And then he said right cup. So I’m like right cup. Oh, it worked out for me. All right. 18th hole here. Par five. Reachable in two. Need a good drive. Wind’s kind of out our back. It’s usually driver 3-wood for me. Matches all square. They gagged on a three-footer back there for me. Uh, we’re going to win this hole with a birdie and break their hearts. A little right of ideal path line. Think it should be fine. Should be okay. Should be okay. There’s a creek down there, too. Someone said it’s not good. That’s what some would say. I didn’t say that, but someone would say that’s not very good. Oh, that’s be in between 10 and 18. Is it open? Uh, worst drive all day. It’s a cut fairway wood up the left side. If it fades back, great. If it hangs out there, no problem either. Apply a lot of pressure with this swing, though. It’s not cutting, but safe. Good. Keep it apart from there. Might be okay. Probably just in the rough down there. I think it had enough to carry it. Think it’s through. Yeah, there’s a little creek down there, but I think that through. Has to be through. That’s good. Has to be should be back out the fairway. That’s good. That’s all I could really do. left and it all kind of bowls into the left side. So back right is tough. So you kind of want to be pin high right at it or left of it. Um because that’ll give you an uphill putt. If you finish deep right of it, it’s putting down a cliff. Hang on. Travel. Travel. All right, we got a putt. That’s good. Not great. He told me basically miss left to the flag. That’s what he told me to do. And I just pulled it like country mile right 55 yards. So now we got a little bender slider. This is the one we make though. This is the one we make. You know, the irony in of this whole video is when we were practicing on the putting green up there, he said, “I doubt we’re going to have an 18footer downhill that you need to make. Now we have it. Left edge. I think it’s going to break fractionally at the at the beginning that way and at the end it might just fall just a fraction right. So, it’s a little bit of a double breaker in my mind, but we’ll see. Come back right. Go. [Laughter] You can make fun of any point all you want. You know, that’s the thing is that if you learn it, you know it. And if you know it, you just have to hit the lead. Now, I don’t want you to stand in his line because we want to make sure this is fair. But, uh, got something to blame it on. I hope he makes this putt. I really genuinely hope he makes this putt. Huge four there by Trace. All right, this is the difference between bonus holes and crying myself to sleep tonight. Back door. He gets 10 seconds. he gets the appropriate amount of time. I hate that for him. I really do. Um, but had to end at some point. It had to end there right now. I’d like to say that we deserve to win, but I’m not sure that’s the case. Uh, thank you for coming coming out, man. That was fun. Thanks for having me. We could probably do it again at some point in uh in the future here, but uh beautiful golf course. We’re going to probably go and mess around, play a little back. I guess it be front nine. Um, but what’s the uh what’s the rate to play out here? Uh, it’s 58 bucks for the cart, 42 walking. It’s an unbelievable deal for a public course and a course this good. Yeah. I mean, this is like country club. Got to honest truth. Country club quality out here. Um, but it’s a shame it had to end that way. I was hoping you’d make a putt, but you made a I got lucky if we’re being completely honest. 1. Love these videos! Keep them coming! I had relatives in Cincy and I played Blue Ash a few times in the late 80’s.
