Vietnam is poised to make a significant leap in its tourism and economic landscape with the launch of the Vietnam Golf Course Owners Summit 2025 (VNGOS 2025), set to take place at the prestigious Laguna Lăng Cô Resort in Hue City on October 30-31, 2025. This groundbreaking event is more than just a gathering of industry experts and golf course owners; it represents a pivotal moment for the future of golf tourism in Vietnam. By bringing together global leaders, government officials, and key stakeholders, the summit will address sustainable practices, investment opportunities, and the strategic development of golf as a core component of Vietnam’s tourism strategy.
The inaugural Vietnam Golf Course Owners Summit 2025 (VNGOS 2025) will take place on October 30-31, 2025, at the Laguna Lăng Cô Resort in Hue City. This event represents a crucial advancement in advancing sustainable golf tourism and supporting the expansion of Vietnam’s golf economy. It is seen as a pivotal moment for the 2025-2030 development period, while also setting an ambitious vision for the sector’s future by 2040. The summit will emphasize the role of golf as a key component in Vietnam’s tourism strategy.
For the first time, a diverse group of stakeholders, including golf course owners, government officials, international experts, and global partners, will come together at an official platform to share a common vision, establish development benchmarks, and chart a long-term course for the industry. This gathering is anticipated to play a crucial role in positioning Vietnam as a premier golf destination in the region and will encourage new collaborations across sports, tourism, and the broader economy.
The summit is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, alongside the Hue City People’s Committee, with support from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Vietnam Sports Administration, and various local departments. The event will also be an integral part of the Wellness Tourism Week and the National Tourism Year in Hue 2025, coinciding with the Vietnam Golf Festival.
As Vietnam celebrates 65 years of tourism development (1960-2025), the country has seen a notable increase in international arrivals, with nearly 14 million visitors in the first eight months of the year, reflecting a 21% rise compared to 2024. This growth underscores the rising importance of golf tourism, which is attracting high-end travelers, lengthening their stays, boosting spending, and positively impacting local industries such as hospitality, food, commerce, real estate, and job creation. To fully harness this potential, Vietnam’s golf sector must focus on standardizing services, upgrading infrastructure, and formulating a sustainable development strategy. The Vietnam Golf Course Owners Summit 2025 aims to address these critical needs and serve as a collaborative platform for shaping the industry’s future.
Greg Norman, Vietnam’s Tourism Ambassador for the 2025 – 2030 term, who will also attend the event, shared: “Vietnam offers an unparalleled blend of world-class golf courses, natural beauty, cultural heritage, and local hospitality. Now is the time for golf course owners and industry stakeholders from across the public and private sectors to unite in growing and promoting this one-of-a-kind destination to the world. With the focus first and foremost on long-term sustainability, this summit will be a milestone event as Vietnam embraces the potential of golf as an economic driver and tourism anchor.”
The summit will center around several key strategic areas, including strategies for boosting inbound golf tourism, elevating Vietnam’s status as a premier golf destination in Asia, and establishing unified standards for sustainable environmental development. Participants will also explore the future of the industry, focusing on the development roadmap for the creation of 100 new golf courses. Other topics will include investment incentives, public-private partnerships, and foreign direct investment (FDI) models aimed at fostering comprehensive growth. The summit will also lay the groundwork for the formation of the Vietnam Golf Course Owners Alliance.
In addition, the summit will unveil the Vietnam National Golf Star-Rating System, an innovative initiative designed to standardize service quality, improve the golfing experience, and enhance Vietnam’s position in the global golf tourism market.
Mr. Jed Moore, Group CEO – 54, stated: “We are honored to be entrusted with implementing this event. We see VNGOS 2025 as a catalyst to elevate Vietnam’s golf industry. This forum is where service standards will be shaped, public-private partnerships will be fostered, and high-quality investment will be attracted, aiming toward a professional, sustainable golf ecosystem deeply integrated with the international market.”
VNGOS 2025 also presents a unique opportunity to position Hue as a key golf hub, blending heritage, luxury resorts, and sports within its five-year development plan.
Alongside the main summit discussions, the event will host a Gala Dinner and the Vietnam Golf Industry Awards. Following this, from November 1 to 2, the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) will hold its conference and golf tournament at the Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club.
