After his incredible run at the US Open where he finished T4, Torque GC’s Carlos Ortiz suffered a dip in his form, finishing T40 and T48 in his next two starts. After a T-25 at JCB, Ortiz finished T4 at Live Golf Indianapolis to put an exclamation mark on his fantastic season. Ortiz finished eighth in the individual standings. Although his situation didn’t appear to be quite as dire leading into the week as his teammates Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood was certainly facing a great deal of pressure entering the week. The Majestic’s GC co- captain got off to a slow start in round one to put his open zone status in question. Over the weekend, Westwood shot rounds of 65 to 66 to finish T17, his second best finish of the season. Statistical standouts David Pig https colon/david pige first in strokes gained off the tea plus 1.85 per round. The Spaniard is one of the rising stars in the game of golf and can win on any course in the world that requires hitting it long off the tea. Brandon Grace https/players Brandon Grace first in strokes gain short approach plus 1.17 per round. Grace put on a masterclass in wedge play at the club at Chattam Hills. The South African’s resurgence late in the season has been incredible as he’s now finished in the top five in two of his past three events to close out the regular season. Dustin Johnson, https/dustin Johnson, second in strokes gained, putting for the week, plus 1.70 per round. After a season full of putter uncertainty and struggles, Johnson put together a strong week on the greens, which sparked his best finish of the season, third biggest mover. It was a season that I didn’t have a lot of hopes for at the beginning. I put a lot of work in the off season, but I wasn’t trying to get a number in specific or win the order of merit or anything like that, but ending up fourth, it’s a huge accomplishment. Sebastian Munoz on winning live golf Indianapolis and finishing fourth in the season long standings, it’s kind of hard to swallow, but at the end of the day, I think it is what it is. I feel like it’s going to put something inside me to kind of work harder and try to be in this situation again next year and make it different. While he neman on losing the seasonl long race to John Rom obviously to win it all. We’ve done well enough all year long and we’re playing good golf.
