[Music] Welcome once again to continuing action of the 2025 Power Disc Golf Academy Championship Series Finale. We are back here at Wild Times for the Back Nine round two mole card. Big shout out to our friends over at Infinite Disc for making this coverage possible. Colorado. We’ve seen kind of a tale of two courses so far between the championship course where the front nine was brutally difficult. We kind of see our leaders here having a much better time of it so far on the front nine of this course. Yeah. We’ll take a look here at the leaderboard and we see that the four players that came off of round one are still up top through nine holes here on wild times. We have a few more interesting holes to play. Starting out here with hole 10, the par4 coming in at 774 ft. You got a gap that you got to hit right right here off the tea. There is left OB. Uh that is what used to be a creek. It’s kind of dry right now, but going to make it out to the fairway. Then you have another long approach around to the right to a basket that’s perched up on the hill, steep, slow. So, you want to make sure that your second shot is either landing close so that you have a good putt or um I don’t know. Put it in the basket. I don’t know. Blake getting a little little obstructed. Uh but I still think that he can get there from there. In my mind, he can. I don’t know if he can in his mind. I don’t know. Only got about 350 off the tea there. So, that’s quite a big ask. That right there’s the gap that you want to hit. is pushing to inside though. That’s going to be pinched on his second shot. It is a fine line. You want something to flip up, but then if it flips up too much, then you’re bringing those left side trees of that initial gap into play. That right there looks like it’s a little too straight, but it’s going to work its way to the right. Okay, it’s perfect. Bending over just enough. Getting back out to the left. Should open up his second shot a bit there from there. He’s in between those trees, though, so I think that’s going to hinder his swing. This looks better. He’s going to end up If he stays clean, huh? You said something. You said this was better. It’s on you. I said something. Still in bounds, though. The OB is way out to the left on this one. With a booming sidearm off to the left. Needs to fight back over. That’s just going to be a chip up from there. Which mean That’s a clean look. He’s putting that, baby. There’s no way he’s putting that. Yes, he is. Nothing but a back stop for a hill. Running that all day. May not make it, but he’s gonna run it. All right, JJ off here on the left hand side trying to figure out his options. He doesn’t like anything that he sees, but he has to do something. Some early cabbage. Make some progress there. He’s still going to have quite a bit of distance left to cover on his third shot, though. Yeah. Little roller. Nope. No. Yes. Yes. Okay. Roller makes sense on this angle. I like it. Curls up a little early on the hillside there. Yeah. It’ll still have a C2 bed at it, though. So, we hear fireworks in the background. It’s not fireworks. That’s somebody on a another property about a mile or so away just uh having their own shooting range there. And this is a common thing too. They just end up a little bit short, but JJ gets to roll down. I’m not sure if that’s going to help. Well, it definitely help with his footing. Um, so didn’t hurt him too much. And now we’re getting to Brent’s shot and a little wide as well, but that is still a straight look at the basket from there. This is a nervy putt for me. just because of the rollway potential. All right, not too bad. He’ll be able to recover. Put that in. He said he wasn’t going to be putting. Look at this. I’m not running that. He is. If you hit the basket and it rolls right back towards you. Okay, that’s that’s kind of the best result. If you’re not going to put it in, don’t hit anything. Just a tickle on the way by. Mhm. Grant for birdie. Yeah. Also, best results. I’d be afraid to even make it. You hit the chains, you don’t hit it with enough pace and it rolls back out. Bogey there. Couple of parts left for these guys to tap in. That’s probably more nervy for me that that downhill putt than one coming at it. Grant continuing with the clean scorecard through 10 holes now. And I hope you don’t mess it up. You keep mentioning that, man. I hope you Micah also with the clean score card through 10 holes. True. True. And we move on to the king of the mountain hole. Hole 11, par4. 486 ft. playing closer to,84 ft. Extremely uphill. I mean really uphill. To get up here to the top of this requires probably about close to five bills worth of power. Mhm. Then you need to chip up your shot here. You’re only left with about 225 ft or so once you get up to the top to get actual look at this very elevated pin. Those atlas stones there. There’s like a point system. If you get to, you know, the first one, the second, the third, there’s like a point value assigned each one. This is blasted up the hill. He would have been further up the hill had he not hit that last tree, too. His sidearm power is ridiculous. Like on the drone flight, there was a a marker that showed Brent Wiggins, the distance champion, how how far he David Wiggins, uh how far he made it up the hill. Yeah, it was 396, I believe. And he has and that was like a 360. Yeah. Run up. And to to describe how much power he has when he plays with Double G. Yeah. They take his shot, not Double G shot. I mean, he’s the world distance record holder. Mhm. Love the line. Oh yeah. Fantastic. That’s great. The And another thing about this hole too is uh your second shot depending on where you land you may have questionable footing. But oddly enough, this plate is the second easiest hole on the course today. Did it really? Yeah. Brandon going to have a very long look there. Micah punching up with the forehand up the left hand side. and is on the green. Yeah, I’m going to look at a severely elevated basket. JJ has decent footing. Generate some power. Gets his approach. Little putter approach. Oh yeah, well inside the circle. Just outside Bullseye. And now we’re at Blake shot. He’s clearly looking at the basket and just has a putter literally underneath it. That’s perfect. Very well done. Had the height. Yeah. Just a little early left. Mhm. Oh, now he’s he’s going to bring his uh his clean score card into play. Oh, just short. Hit the cage. There’s the clap. Oh, he got that. He got that button. I knew he had it all day. I knew he had it. Wait, was that for par? Yeah, for No, not for him. For Micah. No, Micah. That was for Birdie, right? Yeah. Yeah. So, Micah still Yeah. can get the par. Stay clean. As did Brent. But Blake and JJ picking up the birdies. [Music] [Music] All right, middle of the pack hole here in hole 12, a par three coming in at 299 ft. You see this group of trees here? That’s probably going to be a aiming point for you if you’re going with your backhand turnover, which is the ideal line here, I think, for this hole. The forehand doesn’t quite make it all the way there. So, you’re going to be going from left to right trying to get to that beat that corner and then be on the green so that you can get in on this party that everyone’s going to have. I’m calling everybody’s getting a par. I shouldn’t have said that. I should have said it, but I did. I I got a birdie. All right. So, they there better be some birdies on here. Oh, there’s some birdies. Not that one. that that’s the treat that you’re aiming for. But it does takes a little bit more angle on your back hand to get there. See if JJ can make the correction. He does sneak through. Oh, late tree, but going to be in look still. Okay. Oh, he’s going forehand here. Oh, he didn’t listen to your breakdown at all. He did not. Let’s see what happens. Oh yeah, he almost hit me. Um Huh. forehand can’t get there, huh? He got lucky through the trees. You just didn’t see it. It’s not the ideal the ideal line. It’s not Mhm. That looks good. Is it going to hold? Oh. Oh, that’s about That was That was going to go in. That’s about where my putter ended up. So if I can make the butt. What a tree. Okay. So he knows something something about the tree love he gets and the rolls. The roll love he gets. Roll love. Let’s see if Micah can get the job done here. Just over top left. Put the one on it though. Did no clap. Oh, this is JJ dealing with some obstructions here. And this is I think for me it feels never mind. I was about to say it feels awkward for the way that he puts on Heiser, but he just put it around it. Fantastic putt there for the birdie. Mhm. Putting him at three now for the round right now. Brent continuing with the clean card, getting the birdie, his first on the back nine here. Five down overall and five down for the round. Micah also continuing with the clean round. 50% birdie rate for the lead card here on hole 12 before we move on to the disc golf valley hole. Hole 13, par4, 721 ft out of bounds both left and right here. This creek bed here does play OB. You need to be either on the right hand side or the lefth hand side of there’s also an additional out of bounds on the lefth hand side past the car path. You’re then approaching this beautiful green here surrounded by all these trees with the sunlight dropping. This is one of the most picturesque holes on this property. There are some views on wild times. If you haven’t had a chance to get out here to Eagles Crossing, do so and make sure you give yourself enough time to play both courses. This is absolutely breathtaking out here. Oh, that that’s so good. Put them up. Yeah, I can remember the first time out here uh just being on one of the fairways and just stopping and like everything just felt still like it was just like you just had to stop and admire the beauty that hits the tree too. But that’s more than likely going to fall inbounds and it does but it’s going to be some weird footing there. So there’s some bailouts like you can go early left, early right and bail out and still be safe. Yeah, this needs to pick up height and it gets a lift there. And he’s going to be safe on the right. Mhm. Right side kind of opens up your line of attack a little more than being left side. It does. The left side just seems easier to get to. There’s more land over there. There is, but then there’s more trees as well for your second shot. Micah, having not played this hole, kind of opts for that hiser line. And I we’ll see when he’s over there if he’s going to like that decision or not. I feel like being on this right side just opens it up more. That is going to find the OB creek bed there. I believe JJ taking his meter back off the OB. Getting a nice drift on this one. We should get all the way there. does have a look. Well played to save his par. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Brent was out of bound or Yeah. was out of bounds. So, he is playing his fourth. Very well executed. So, he’ll have that left for the bogey. And that’s going to end the clean round. M are only hope for a clean round here. Oh, he hits the gap, but it has no height to it. So, he’s going to end up short there. He’s going to have to He’s okay, though. Pitch up and can still scramble from where he is. No real obstructions to deal with. Blake, this is his second. Oh, wow. Wow. Are you kidding me, dude? Stupid stuff’s happening. Was not expecting that. He’s gotten some just horrendous kicks and rolls reaction over the first two days. If he just pushed that close, he’ll have a bag on tap for his par. Mhm. Blake unfortunately having to go all the way back there where chips up. Gave it a good bid there. JJ safest par. Got it. Yeah, let’s go. Very stoic on these putts, too. Just out here literally doing work. Work your man’s bar. Clock in, clock out. Mhm. This will be for the bogey there. First bogey of the day for Brent. It’s a little scary putt there for me. Just over the edge. A bogey there for Blake. Unfortunate. And the par to continue the clean round. All pars here on the back. Nine so far for Micah. Play everything blind. Micah. Play everything blind. Yeah. Here we go. 014 par 327 ft. Middle of the pack as far as difficulty. See the dry river bed over there to the right. Of course, that is playing as OB. You see the the strip that is indicating OB. There is be left to as far as the car path goes. But ideally what you want to do, throw a backhand here that’s turning over slightly to the right or there is also a forehand line that you can take. There is OB to the right of the basket. Really doesn’t come into play as long as you get a hold of some of that grabby grass to keep you close. JJ’s going just straight at it. Yeah, just a very subtle amount of drift with some fade. That is how you draw up inside. That line to me doesn’t look as open as he just threw it. Like it looks like there’s too many leaves there. Nah, Michael. Obviously not. Yeah. Okay. Like I said, he just he that’s what he saw for the first time, so he just duplicated it. Here’s the forehand play here. Fore forehand needs to get around these late trees and does perfectly. And that’s two in the bullseye. Possibly three. Another forehand here. This is gator. Dang. A little more inside. This is going to get the action it needs. This is the last tree and nearly skips in. All right. We might have our second one. Let’s see. Of the round. Yeah. Come on. Come on. It’s starting. It’s starting. The rest of these are only going to get closer. Mhm. Mhm. Okay. Okay. Halfway there. Just like Bon Joy. No pressure, Blake. I mean, not Blake. Brent. Brent. Blake already got his. Yeah. All right, JJ, you’re the closest one. Let the tap in. Just nonchalant angry throw in to complete the star frame. Well done. How do you just toss it like that? Just [Music] big disc golf doesn’t want you to know about this. It’s called the band system. That’s B A N D. Buy a new disc. Sure, you can spend hours practicing, but you’ve tried that and you’re still back. And at discountdisgolf.com, the prices are so low, you can band without breaking the bank. Before BD, I was just B A. But now I I own more discs. So what are you waiting for? Get on the bandwagon today at discountdiscoff.com. Cuz cheap discs are better. It’s science. Hole 15, a par five coming in at 819 ft out of bounds. Laced on this left hand side. You want something that’s going to go relatively straight kind of towards this short red pin here. If you can be on the high right hand side, that’s going to open up a couple different options for you to take possible forehand over the OB or try to work a backhand hiser through this gauntlet of trees here leading up to this beautiful green. This is a difficult one. It can beat eagled with two big shots. birdie absolutely on the table, but couple of bad kicks and you can end up taking a big number as well. This is looking great. Stop going left though. I said something and he is close but he is safe. You see the property owner there on that cart that is Philip Samuels. Fantastic guy has created this paradise for disc golfers. Right in the middle. Mhm. I think he should just play blindfolded every time he goes somewhere. Just the courses that he know. Just play it blind. Whoa. Shaving some bark off that tree. What kind of way is that? Goodness. Goodness. I think it ticked it. And he’s way down there by that short pin, which is I think 450ish. The only only bad thing about that is his footing. Yeah. Been in that. That’s a good shot, too. Yeah. Not as good as the one that Brent threw, but man. All right. So JJ has decisions here. trying to cut the corner and just get a little bit to get p. Yeah. Placement. At some point, you’re typically you’re going to have to throw over the the OB, the driver of bed at some point um as you’re making progress. Okay. Stay safe. Okay. Looks like he’s just kind of pushing the right side hiser just as a placement play. Is he going to stay up on the hill? It does. Yeah, that’s going to affect his footing again. That’s his third shot, too. Now, now the clean round comes into into question here. He’s going to have to execute a pretty high level shot to get up and down. Oh my goodness. Oh, that is crazy. Word. That’s I don’t understand his disc, his throw. Like there’s just so much going on there at this. He understands obviously. Yeah, that’s that monster that he’s thrown quite a bit already. And he’s got himself an eagle look here on the par five. Brent just playing the safe. Okay. Okay, that’s good. Just overstable forehand. Just something that’s going to dump right. Make sure that he doesn’t flirt with that OB creek bed. Yeah, technically he has an eagle look too. Oh no. Sit, sit, sit, sit, sit, sit. Oh my man. Not the tree kiss that you want. So he’s going to be over. Oh, he’s closer than I thought. I thought Brent was still like another 350 out. Oh, no. No. Yeah. No, Brent’s much closer. He’s get up and down here for the par. Going outside turnover. Uhoh. [Music] That’s a long bit to save it. It is. Well, it’s probably going to be a little tricky footing, too. Mhm. Oh, I thought he had it. I thought he had it. He didn’t clock. He clocked out early today. Yeah. For that hole. Laying up there. is going to have that left for his birdie. Micah for the par. We’re all rooting for you, Micah. Come on, Micah. Be that guy. Stay clean. Oh yeah, get in. I don’t think he believed in it for the eagle. Oh, just slow. And there are a couple plus he wants to have back for sure. Yeah. Bogey there for M for JJ. Mo with the bogey putt as well. Oh, 14 rounds of clean golf out here. I’d take that any day of the week for the birdie. Okay, bird. 14 holes, I think, is what you were trying to say. You said 14 rounds. I’ll take 14 rounds. 14. Yeah, I’ll take either one. And the birdie there for Blake as well. Blake still having an underpar a out here. All right, hole 16, par 4, 515 ft. basically have two islands here. You want to make your way down this side on the left side of the dry river bed till you get to an area where you can cleanly cross over to the right side island. Once you get over there, you just want to be close to the basket so you can put in Hey, I’m calling it. This is the middle of the pack. Playing just slightly over par. Uh people going to think I’m cheating, but I think three pars one birdie for this card. Yeah. Okay. Well, no. For the entire for the for the entire field. For all 30 players. Good kick. Good kick. That’s just fine. You don’t need to bite off too much here off the tea. You can go mid-range. You can go putter. Yeah, you can go putter. You just want to be in a particular zone. That right there is slightly outside of that zone. You don’t want to be too far. You don’t want to be too left. You don’t want to be too right. You want to be just right. And that may be a little too far and too left. Yeah, we’ll see. Especially with the short basket still being there. He’s going to have some trees and some canopy to contend with. This right here looks like it’s going to be in a sweet spot. And it is. So, first up. Oh. Oh, Tomahawk. Tommahawk. I’m not ready for this. Where’s it going to go? Uh, it’s somewhere back there. So, there is like some weird OB stakes that just Yeah, they’re confusing cuz they look like they go one direction, but then they there’s nothing else that continues that way, so you don’t know. It’s kind of ambiguous. Yeah. So, we do have there will be some conversation for the card up there as to whether or not he was inbounds or out of bounds. But that right there is clearly in bounds. That bird shot. Move up to Micah after his pretty picture perfect drive here. Has a straight putter approach left. Oh, that’s looking good. Fantastic. There you go. That’s how you recover. There’s the clap. There’s the clap. That was That was a good clap. Mhm. He’ll have that left for his birdie to bring him to three down for the round. JJ’s got to get pretty technical here on this shot. He does. Not high enough. Oh, just high enough. Good reaction on the back end there. So, this is Blake. So, after discussion, kind of played it both ways. Did throw provisional. This is his original shot here with him being inbounds. And that’s the one that ended up being uh played out correctly. Good bid. Yeah, definitely a bid there. So, this is for his part. Good par. Yeah, good putt. GG for the bird. Got it. So JJ going to get three down now for the round. Not a bad pace. Par there for Brent and Birdie after a beautifully played T-shot and approach for Micah. [Music] And we come to hole 17 straight ahead 300 I’m sorry 227 ft hard three very uphill though moving left to right you can see the pin from where you are forehand will work here backhand turnover I think plays a little bit better if you can get the angle correctly and just kind of pans out and works better with this uh sloping left to right fairway in green the counter or the clockwise spin will kind of help to counterclockwise spin help to control your angle coming in. It’s late. I don’t know how clock works. The other direction. Yeah, there you go. That’s clockwise spin. It depends cuz if you have one of those old Disney Goofy watches, it goes the other way. Shout out in the comments if you ever had one of those old school goofy watches. Great shot. That was like a That’s not even a line. That’s I mean, technically it is, but no one takes that line. It’s too straight. A little longer look there, but inside the circle. I mean, if this isn’t an argument to play every course blind or or like you’re playing blind, like for the first time, we’ll see. We need to have Michael play it one more time. Yeah. See if he does worse. Oh, sit down. Sit down. And it does. Yeah. JJ, put the birdie connects. Put back birdies. I’m start putting with JJ confidence. That’s what I’m Okay. Just be young and aggressive. Yeah. Fearless. Yeah. Birdie there for Brent. Seven down on the rounds. I am still willing to put money that he is the only player under par for the event. Absolutely. [Music] What is the simplest way to improve your disc golf game? The answer, learn from the very best. Join today at powerdga.com. All right, we’re going to finish on hole 18 here. It’s a par4 coming in at 560 ft. You got this long downhill that then traverses into uphill the rest of the way. You want to land anywhere by the red basket or just before ideally right here with a forehead would work. You have another shot that’s going up the hill. Make sure you stay away from those working bees that are up there. Really not much OB to speak of other than far to the left again on the T-shot. You can either go straight or forehand here. JJ opting for the forehand. Is he going to get the right movement? It looks like he is. And he’s going to be in that ideal landing area. Oh, I love a late flip. That’ll be just fine. We’re going to see. He might have a little bit of a low ceiling to contend with. Yeah, he will. And then obviously that climb there. So, couple of factors to deal with. This looks pretty ideal. Maybe a little early. Little early. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, he’s down kind of in that flat area there. will be fighting gravity the rest of the way there to try to get up and down. Fighting gravity and trees. Mhm. That looks great. Skip, right? Oh, got more of a straight skip. It did. He’s still okay, though. Oh, yeah. He’s Let’s see. I don’t know if we’ve seen his scramble skills thus far. Chips up back to the top. Okay. You can still get a par from there. Yeah. This is the peculiar. It looks even more peculiar from that angle. Yeah. Oh, but he gets something going. And that’s going to be C2. It’s really well done from there. It is. You got especially with the elevation as well. Mhm. A lot of factors involved in that shot. JJ the more straight shot. A little turn on this forehand uphill. Gets caught up early though. Leaves with a JJ range putt though. Oh yeah. Surprised he didn’t go for a step out forehand, but that result is really good there. Again, I’m not I’m not trying to coach him. I’m just sorry. I just I just see different lines. I’m like, but why wouldn’t you? You got such a good forehand. Why you don’t forehand? This is a flippy putter. I think it’s a sensei. Oh goodness. And that gets a really bad reaction to the right. Nice pitch up to the basket. Who’s going to end up putting that in for us? Is that his bogey putt that he’s looking at there? Yeah. JJ for birdie just inside left there with that hiser putt. Yep. Micah for his bird. What a scramble. Really awkward positioning for that second shot. Mhm. You earned that one. Blake for his birdie. Got it. Very well done. Five under on the day. Micah as well. Brent for the bogey. put him at six under for the day as well as overall score of six down. JJ with the par man. So, if you did watch the front nine, we told you that the first three holes were going to lo you into thinking the course was something other than what it was. You see here on the recap for our card, the bat kind of showed up a little bit. Bit two of our players that were playing clean, but we still got everyone under par. Taking a look at the top 10, you see Bridge still has a quite a lead and the top four players are still coming back for the final round. at the championship course. Yeah, we’re going to shift back to the championship course for that final round here. See how these guys tackle it on the second go round at that course. Going to be a fun one.
