The Amgen Irish Open 2025 golf tournament, which runs from 4 to 7 September at the K Club in County Kildare, will be free from single-use plastic water bottles, thanks to Britvic Ireland brand Aqua Libra.
Aqua Libra, the official water sponsor of the tournament, will provide chilled, purified still and sparkling water through plastic-free packaging and refill stations around the course, in a move that Britvic says reflects its commitment to environmental responsibility and the circular economy.
‘Championing sustainability’
“Britvic Ireland has proudly supported the Irish Open for over a decade, and we’re delighted to continue that legacy in 2025 with Aqua Libra as our lead brand at this year’s tournament,” commented Kevin Donnelly, managing director, Britvic Ireland.
“By championing sustainability and moving away from single-use plastic water bottles, we’re helping to set a new standard for responsible event partnerships.”
Aqua Libra is a supplier of refillable hydration solutions for workplaces, hospitality venues and events, as well as canned still and sparkling water.
Britvic has sponsored the Irish Open since 2012, and has a longstanding relationship with golf’s DP World Tour, dating back to 2006.
‘Innovative approach’
“We’re pleased to continue our long-established relationship with Britvic Ireland and are excited to partner with Aqua Libra for the 2025 Irish Open,” commented Paul Gillmon, head of championships, DP World Tour. “Their innovative approach will support our wider sustainability goals, and we look forward to working together to deliver a successful and more environmentally conscious tournament at The K Club.”
The Irish Open is set to welcome some of the world’s best golfers, with Rory McIlroy, Patrick Reed, Tyrrell Hatton, Shane Lowry, Brooks Koepka and more participating.
