two really really strong teams this year. You’ve been on a couple of losing teams in the States and you’ve been memorably on one winning one and uh I’m sure you’re really looking forward to this year’s renewal on what should be a you know a terrific occasion. Hostile crowd perhaps on a really really long good course and you’ll have a much more senior role this year. You must be really looking forward to it. I am. Uh I’m I’m very excited. You know, I’ve um I’ve said this repeatedly, but I think winning an away RDER Cup is, you know, it’s it’s up there with one of the the biggest achievements in the game, especially nowadays. Um you know, there’s a reason that every RDER Cup for the last 10 years has went to the home team. You know, that the home team do have a big advantage from the setup of the golf course to the, you know, the to how partisan the the crowd is. Um, so yeah, I mean I think the Europeans have a wonderful opportunity this year to um to achieve something very very special, but it’s also going to be very difficult um they have a very strong team um you know they they’re going to have a pretty rockous crowd on their side uh and on a golf course that a lot of them know pretty well from you know previous tournaments there. So, you know, make no mistake, we know we’re up against it and we know we’ve got a a tall task on our hands, but um you know, I I love the team that Luke has assembled. Um you know, I’m this is going to be my my eighth Ryder Cup. I’m the most experienced player at the RDER Cup. Um so, yeah, I you know, I’ve I’ve enjoyed that sort of more senior leadership role on the team for the last few of them and um yeah, I’m I’m you know, I’m I’m very excited for it. Go to Brian on this side. Yeah, Rory, just on the team itself, just wondering what you make of that. 11 of the 12 guys that were there the last time, obviously Raasmus coming in, there’s been I read something there recently, somebody was making the point that maybe, you know, the 11 guys are all stronger players than they were two years ago and and Rasmus has obviously improved as well over the last couple years. Yeah, you could certainly make that case. Um yeah, the the entire team has played some very good golf between um between Rome and and and now um someone like a Bob McIntyre, you know, who’s won a couple of times now on the PGA Tour, had a chance to win the US Open. Um, and I think as well, you know, speaking to the team, a few of the guys games or the profile of their games, if you look at it from a stats perspective, are, you know, I think when we went to Rome, you had some guys that were purely like forsomes players, some guys that were purely fourball players. I think now, you know, we have, you know, we have a lot of flexibility within that 12 to, you know, if they, you know, four sims or four balls and, you know, changing the change the dynamics around a little bit. So, um, yeah, I think the 12 that assembled definitely offered the team a lot more flexibility than than we had in Rome, but obviously Rome worked worked out very very well for us. But as you said, you could argue that pretty much every player in the team is um is more accomplished than than what they were two years ago. You’re playing for much more than just the 12 lads there or the caddies or the people are there. I feel like you’re playing for the tour. You’re playing for you know a lot of other people on the outside. So I feel like to to put ourselves in that environment over the next two weeks to kind of show us that what it what it you know what it’ll mean to everyone and you know you’re getting well wishes off everybody and not even you know it’s not even just the Europeans on tour. it’s the other guys, the, you know, the Kiwis or the South Africans or, you know, I think everyone has a, you know, a want for the European Rder Cup team to win this Ryder Cup and I think putting ourselves in that environment. But yes, like these this week particularly is quite busy for me. Um, and but you know, once I get to Wentward next week, uh, you know, it’ll be fine. I’ll be less busy. I’ll be able to do my own thing and prepare as well as I can for that tournament. But I I still think it it I think it’s good preparation for me, but I don’t know about other people what they would think. But, you know, I quite enjoy being around the environment of the European tour and especially with what we’ve got coming up. Yeah. Uh Shane, where would you rate the RDER Cup against the against the majors? Rory was talking about it saying it was way up at the top. Is that the same for you? Yeah. Yeah. like if if we win the Ryder Cup in a few weeks time, I don’t really care what’s going on the rest of the season. Um, you know, it’s it’s uh it’s a big thing for me. Obviously, you go you go through the whole year and you’re you’re trying to win and you’re trying to play well and you know, you you’ve got lots of goals, but like a big big goal for me was uh win the RER Cup this year at Bet Page and you know, it hasn’t changed and um I think if we’re sitting there in the team room on a Sunday evening, uh you know, nobody will care what’s what’s gone on over the past eight months. So, um, yeah, it’s it’s way up there with me and, you know, as I get older, it’s it’s getting even more and more important. So, uh, you know, I just love it. I live for it and um

That a boy Rory
Poor Shane can never have a conversation without Rory being mentioned 😂
2 really strong teams? I’m an American, die hard USA Ryder Cup fan – I bleed red, white and blue. The European team from top to bottom is in a class above the U.S. this year. Our only advantage is being at home. Scottie can’t play every match.
Europe have a great team. US will be favourites but it should be close. cant wait
Top guys 🎉🎉
Let's go Europe 🇪🇺🏆
Shane what on earth are you smoking, the first answer 😅
I still dont think America gets ramped up about the Ryder Cup!!! Yes they say and do the right things, fist pump etc , do the TV stuff but, really does it mean that much to them???
Love that Rory mentioned the form of Bob MacIntyre. That recognition alone will fire him up even more
Such a lazy media question. “What’s it mean to you…”
Lets go EUROPE
8th ryder cup for Rory is crazy consistency
F Stoogeilroy. Remember how he wanted all the LIV Golf members banned, but as soon as his boyo Rahm defected, then he did a 180? Can't wait for all the boos awaiting him on Long Island. 40 IQ clown.
Gonna be a proper dingdong!🥊
Think Luke should have picked Matt Wallace & sat out Shane
