The ball smashed the pin and spun back into the water. Tiger took a penalty drop, but here’s where it gets wild. Instead of dropping from the exact same spot, he backed up a couple of yards to avoid hitting the pin again. Officials let it slide at first. No extra penalty. But later that night, Tiger admitted in an interview he had dropped further back. Normally disqualification, but Augusta said, “Our mistake.
