High school girls golf: Mustangs win at Rocky River

CONCORD — East Rowan’s girls shot 133 to win Wednesday’s South Piedmont Conference golf match at Rocky River.
South Rowan shot 143 for second place.
Northwest Cabarrus’ Carson Verburg was medalist with a 39.
East’s Jaelyn Earnhardt and Kaley Pfister shot 44s to tie for second place. East’s third scorer was Cailey Ludwig. She shot 45 and tied South’s Sara Culbert for fourth.
South’s Marla Maples shot 47 and placed sixth.
Sawyer Sherrill was the third scorer for the Raiders with a 51.
East’s Izzy Stepp shot 51 and tied Sherrill for seventh.
