What’s good everybody? Welcome back to Golf and Gospel. We’re not dropping on our regular Monday because we have to wait on European captains pick to come out which we will get into along with the US RDER Cup and also LPJ golf again. I’m Jeremy Davis, former NFL player and host of Golf and Gospel. And guys, if you want to become the best PT in the world, you need an internship, you better follow Nate Wong, man. Best PT in Arizona, former Nebraska cornhas golfer. And actually, Nebraska had a close one this weekend against Cincinnati. Man, I don’t know how you felt about that. I did not feel great. I mean, we got to win one game. Um, and you know what they say, the best coaching opportunities are are close wins or bad wins because you got the win. Um, but there’s a lot to go over that’s uh that you can improve on. But yeah, man, I just I really want to see Dylan Ryola take control. Like I just You want him You want him to live up to the guy he’s uh impersonating? Yeah, like there’s Yeah, exactly. Well, this I got on like a on a thread and these guys are like he’s young and they were doing these defenses that were taking away the deep ball and I’m like they make some checks like Yeah. Brady said he would never snap a ball into snap the ball into a defense that he thought was that had strengths against his offensive call. So, he would ch and maybe maybe he doesn’t have that le leeway yet. Maybe. Yeah, he made checks last year, but that was like under another offensive coordinator. So, I don’t know if this offensive coordinator is our new offensive coordinator is great. Um, but I just don’t know if he they’ve developed that kind of rapport yet. So, yeah. Well, at least like you said, wins a win, man. But let’s start off getting into the LPGA golf, man. Miranda Wayne takes down world number one Gino, dog. Gino was so close to capturing a second victory as we said all year and this is no shocker. We don’t have a two-time win on the LPGA this year and for the most part we’re like thinking it’s going to happen or we were rooting for Rosang to come up clutch too and she Yeah. And she kind of fell off too, man. But Miranda Wayne takes down war number one. It’s crazy cuz Gino got had to leave for a second. We’re like, “Oh, it’s over. There’s no way Miranda comes back.” Miranda ends up birding two of the last three holes to capture lead. I think she won 20 under to 19 under from Gino. Man, it’s crazy because Gino’s having an incredible year. She has eight top fives. Just trying to turn those into wins have been tough for anybody really. She had like she’s had multiple seconds, you know. Uh yeah, cuz she had the playoff against uh Yep. Grace Kim against Grace Kim in this one- which is like what coming down the stretch felt playoffy. You know what I’m saying? Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, she’s still still the best golfer. It’s just crazy. One win this year and it’s best golfer in the world. She is, man. One thing I do want to talk about are the rookies on the LPJ, man, who are just playing incredible, bro. So, this is this looks bright for LPJ golf, but I think it’s scary for like vets like Nelly, Lexi, and so other people because it’s like these these rookies are coming. So, you got Rio Tequita, who’s been a dog. She’s won and race for the rookie uh for the LPJ rookie of the year. Uh the the Eyeway twins, they both been playing incredible. Miranda Wang, as we just mentioned. Yep. Yep. Miranda Wang, as we just talked about, she just got her first victory. Lahi Wo. We know what type of dog Lahi W is. And Ingret Limblast, she got a victory. The only one in the top eight who doesn’t have a victory is your home girl Julia Julia Lopez Ramirez. But we know she’s also a dog as well, man. So LPJ has a lot to look for in terms of talent, man, because hot take here. They’re overshadowing some of the vets besides Gino, truth be told. Yeah. Hot. Yeah, it’s hot. Hey. Hey. Well, is it a hot take when it’s when it’s objective though? Like they are winning. I don’t know if it’s a hot take. or or they’re doing well. It’s weird because like I feel like some of these girls like I feel like it’s been around forever. I don’t know if it’s because the LPJ season is longer, but I just I feel like I don’t know why. I feel like Ingred Limblad has been around forever. I just Well, she was on Epson Tour, so uh that’s why I’m familiar with her game. But yeah, but I don’t know. I mean, I never heard of her until she was on the LPGA until until the US Open essentially. But then I was like, yeah, but then I was like, I feel like even when I saw her that like she’s been around forever, right? And then it’s like, nope, she’s a rookie. No, she’s a rookie. She’s a rookie, man. But let’s move over to the PGA, man. FedEx Cup fall, the procore um is what Keegan Bradley is trying to get everyone to play in this year uh in regards to his Rder Cup team. But I want to hear your thoughts in regards to this, Nate, because this is an opportunity for like some of the lower tier guys to like get a victory, maybe help their Fast Cup points. And unfortunately, you got a guy like Scotty’s planting in it. Colin Moroc’s committed to it, Justin Thomas is committed to it, JJ Spawn. Uh, do you think this is discouraging for the field to see obviously some of the top eight players because I they I don’t have uh the list officially comes out I think next Sunday at 5:00 p.m. to officially know who’s all playing but right now those are some of the Ryder Cup guys who are committed to playing. Man, would you be discouraged if you were in this field and those guys are playing? Yeah, I mean because it’s it it because it is like oh we’re playing for second now or we’re playing, you know. Yeah. But uh but I I feel like the guys on tour get it. It’s like, you know, tuneup for the for the RDER Cup and you want to have some competitive golf under you. The other the other flip side is is like, yo, how much status more status could you gain if you do take down a Scotty or if you do, you know, if you do beat Scotty like, uh, how much more confidence are you going to have going into the next season? Or procore guys, those these guys are the guys that are like trying to avoid Q school, right? Yeah. Keep their call, keep their card and stuff like that. Yeah. FS fall or maybe they’re just trying to gain confidence. Play Max Home’s playing in it. See the Gal’s playing in it. Cameron Champ’s playing in it. Dude, yeah. Like, dude, how great would it be if Max takes down Scotty like they’re in a playoff and stuff like that. Um, but yeah, that’ll be very encouraging for his game. Yeah, I also think that’s one way to think about it, too, is like I want to be up against because it’s like when I was getting recruited, it was like I want to be up against the the top guys so then if I beat them, I can kind of have that on my resume to tell these college coaches, you know, and yeah, I wonder if these guys are feeling like that. Obviously, like when I was getting recruited and I did play against the top guys, they would just wax everybody. But um but yeah, I these guys are so close in talent that like it’s like the distance between you know uh like Max Homer and Scotty is so small but it’s like you know Scotty’s the best. And then yeah, what’s the difference between me and Bo Hustler is like if I could just reach him I’d be great. You know I actually saw a post not too long ago. So, it says, “Who is the best golfer now to not have a PGA tour win?” And uh I think it’s either Bo Hustler or Cameron Cameron Triangle, but he’s on live. So, I don’t know if you’re ever going to win a PJ event. That’s funny. I know the one thing about Procore is uh part of me wants to know like this can be very confident, let’s say, if Colin wins because he didn’t really end the way he would have liked. Like I said, for me, Colin has not been the same golfer since the players. I think he finished T10 there. Did pretty good at the Masters, but after that, nothing really impressive about Colin. So, I think if Colin could come out here and win a Pro Core, that can be huge confidence going into a Ryder Cup, man. So, that’s one point I want to make about the Pro Core as well as um question for you. Do you think like Scotty’s going to try and win this? Dude, I mean, it’s just like any competitor. I feel like he’s going to go try Yeah. try and win it, you know? I don’t know. Do you think Tom Brady tried to go win Pro Bowl compet Pro Bowl games? He did. Yeah, I think he did. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, that’s good. I think it’ll be I think it’ll be the same thing, dude. I’m kind of What if What if I’m kind of nervous like what if Colin goes into the Procore and like stinks? That’s scary. But this is It’s good to figure out though. This is good to find out. I know. You want to find out in uh in Beth Paige. Yeah, it sucks because it’s like, dude, Keegan can’t go back on his it’s over this team, you know? You can’t be like, you know what, I’m gonna go play now instead of you, you know? Yeah. I mean, I think Keegan had enough film to know that he probably should have picked himself over Colin, but we’ll get into that in a few in a few, man. I do want to get into obviously Ryder Cup, man. We look at the USA team. M Scotty, JJ Spun, Alexander Shoffley, Russell Henley, Harris English, Bryson Shambo, Captain Justin Thomas, Scott Morawa, Ben Griffin, Patrick Henley, Cameron Young, Sam Burns. Look at the European side. Rory Mroy, Robin McIntyre, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, Ramses Hogar, Tyrone Hatton, Captain’s Pick, Shane Lowry, John Rom, Victor Havlin, Seb Straka, Lou Oberg, Matt Fitzpatrick. Now, before I get into my follow-up question, the first question I want to ask you is, man, I see a lot of people actually have problems with Sam Burns being picked. For some reason, people have problem with Justin Thomas getting picked, Colin Morau, which I have a problem with that, and Patrick Kentlay. I want to know your thoughts about those four guys. Like, do you have a problem with any of those guys getting picked? I mean, I mean, the the main one is K Morawa. Dude, nothing against this guy personally or even as a golfer. It’s just recently what he what he has done isn’t it hasn’t been great you know. Yeah. Um I I think JT I mean who are you going to put in besides JT like Yeah. I don’t know like well he has so a lot of people saying we put Brian Harman in over over Kentle and over uh Colin uh except Chris Elliot. Chris Elliott does not like Brian Harman but everyone was saying yeah I would pick Brian Harman because Brian Harman has a win to Valero. Kyle doesn’t have a victory and obviously Patrick doesn’t have a victory. He was close but he gave Tommy Fleetwood his first victory, dude. And I I think I think Brian Harmon is an underrated golfer. Um I just I don’t know how how do you how did he do the last Ryder Cup? Like I don’t know if he’s just like I mean I feel like the team in its totality didn’t really do that good. The only people that played really good in the 2020 Ryder Cup was Max and Patrick Henley outside. Yeah. Yeah, I I I honestly think that’s why you got to pick Canley like because he did well. He was a great locker room guy, if you will. And dude, for all we know, Brian Harmon could have been the reason why they stunk, you know? Like I would hope that’s not the case, man. Um I hope I mean he he had a great year two years ago. Like great regular season, but like I just don’t know if he’s like the guy that can just go low. And I I feel like when he won the Was it the Open or was it the He won the Open. He’s talking Harmon, right? Yeah. I Yeah, he won the open. I feel like it was just one of those like they all played golf and then when they added up the scores, he just happened to be the loaded low. It wasn’t like it wasn’t like he went and and freaking won the thing, you know? I don’t know. No disrespect at the Valero. did feel like he had that like I’m going to hit this three-wood close, you know, like try to give myself a chance to eagle, you know? Yeah, he played really good the Valero, man. I think that’s the only So, I guess I can lead to my next question. Looking at both teams, who do you think got snubbed from the roster? I think the guy who got snubbed was the captain. Yeah. Yeah, but it was all in his control. Yeah, I know. Like I like if if you had that kind of resume and let’s say you weren’t the captain and you didn’t get picked like that’s like a that’s like the same thing like go hug your dad, he needs a hug right now. Yeah. Yeah, man. He said it hurt him so much to like not pick himself. Um but I mean he said he came to that decision a long time ago and u again I don’t know what the difficulties of being the captain and playing are going to be in this generation. I was hoping that he would have had some uh confidence in knowing that it’s possible by Arnold Palmer doing it, but he didn’t pick himself. Uh, hey, one person I think I got snubbed. It’s a bit of a hot take, but I’m going say it anyways. I think Harry Hall got snug, man. I really think Harry Hall got snug. Oh, for Europe. For Europe. Harry Hall. Here we go. So, he played really well in the tour championship. finished T17, finished six at the BMW championship, made 22 of 25 cuts with five top 10s, and he’s fifth in strokes gained total, and number two in putting after Sam Burns. So, you got a guy who’s fifth in strokes gain putting. I mean, fifth in strokes gained and then number two putter on tour. So, it’s just like now my thing is I don’t know if Matt Fitzpatrick made a case playing in the DP in his last two finishes. cuz I think he finished like T5 and like the last two DP ones like made him say like you know what I think we should pick Matt Fitzpatrick but I was like dog Harry Hall and we look at both of these rosters Europe they decide to go with like faces that are known like these guys been before. Yeah. We see USA team kind of go with some fresh face. Um we never seen Ben Griffin on there before. We never seen Cam Young. So they kind of like revitalized their roster. But I think Europe is like, man, we won with these guys last year. We’re going in with the same thing. And the last time they had a Ryder Cup at Beth Paige, European team won, too. So, you know, but I do think Harry Hall got snubbed. Anybody else you think got snubbed from the roster? No, now that you now that I said it, I like Brian Harmon. I feel like, you know, I don’t think college should be there, man. I don’t think college should be there. Yeah, I feel like if you were going to take if you were going to not take yourself and not take Colin, I think Brian Harmon would have been a good pick just cuz he was he was 12, right? 12 or 13. I think he was he was either 11 or 12. He was he was right around there and he is an underrated player like and he he always just kind of hung in there at the top. Yo, did Harry did how did Harry Hall do at the tour championship? T7. I guess not bad. He made it to the tour championship. Got BMW. Yeah. Number two in putting. Like you’re convincing me that it was uh what what was he ranked? Oh, Harry Hall. Good question. Let’s see. All right. Harry Hall 17. Oh, I mean that’s that’s far enough away, but I mean like he got completely robbed. No, but he was making a case towards the end. It’s just but the tough is Sam Burns is 16. That’s a good point. You know, that’s a good point. Brian Harvin’s 12. The tough the tough thing is is that it’s uh it like you have your resume is a two-year resume. I think we’ve been thinking about it like, oh, what have you done this year? So, I feel like I’ve been like making my picks based off that. And it’s like, well, the year before, I think that’s why Colin Colin was so high was because like the year before he probably did better. I can’t even remember what he did in 2024, but but like we always say, Nate, what can you do for me now? I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care what Colin did during the President Cup year. That’s that’s what I think too. Uh but I feel but I feel like the cuz like the the top six is that’s how it’s solidified and that’s how the ranking is solidified, you know? Yeah. And that’s part that’s probably why like Harry Hall is ranked so far away even though he’s been doing really well recently is just because it’s like you have to try to make a push after like the last two years. You know what I’m saying? That’s that’s a bigger uh the last two years has more inertia you have to deal with versus just like if it’s just one year and you just have a good surge at the end of the year, you can really flip the script, you know. Yeah. Yeah. I think Harry Hall and I would love to hear what people thoughts on me saying Harry Hall uh was snubbed but if you really look at his numbers what he’s been doing I think it’s a fair take man I think also I think Matt Fitzpatrick when he went and played link style golf the open in the in the gent open played really well probably gained a little bit more confidence in Luke Donald’s eyes as well so yeah no but I I also think like recently like what has Matt Fitzpatrick done versus Harry Hall like I think I think that’s a very fair pace like Harry Hall has done a lot more recently in bigger events. So, Matis Patrick didn’t even get to the Did he even get to the BMW? Did he not get the BMW? Let me see, man. Or maybe maybe it was just a tour championship, dude. But Harry Hall made it there. Like, he got he got six BMW. Uh yeah, he made it to the BMW. Memphis Patrick finished T7 and again Harry Hall finished sixth. Sixth. Yeah. St. Jude Matt Fitzpatrick finished T32. Harry Hall, let me see. Harry Hall, man. Harry Hall said, “I need to lock in.” FedEx St. Jude T22. I’ll play Matt Fitzpatrick there, too. Harry Hall, T15 at the Windom Championship. I don’t know if Matt Fitzpatrick played in the Windom. Oh, he did. T8. Yep. Alex Norren is like a sneaky guy, too. I mean, I not to say Alex Norris should make the team, but like Alex Horn, like sometimes you just look at the the stands, you’re like, “What are you doing with T3 right now?” And then obviously uh What was the Was it the He was with He was with Scotty. Scotty. Yeah. Yeah. So, Alex Nord always kind of comes out of nowhere, too. But no, I think I think hot take, though. But I think Harry Hall should have got picked over Matt Fitzpatrick. Matt, if you watch this, bro, uh I know you are. I apologize, man. I’m just going off again. Uh what can you do for me now? So, um so I did something unique. Would love to hear your thoughts on this, too. So, I have put together the best golf bag that anyone can play with based off these stats right here. So, for instance, if you want to get you a putter, Sam Burns number one putter on tour. He had the Odyssey AI one number seven single bend. We look at wedges. I put this into two categories. Proximity to the hole around the green and wedge shots from under 100 yards. Andrew Putnham, Cleveland RTX Zip Core Tour Rack Six. Um, his 50 degrees is a 10 mid, 56 degree is a 12 full, and then 60 degrees is a 10 mid. Also, just let you know, uh, Andrew Putnham is ranked number one in green and regulations from 75 to 100. Just saying. But we also look at approach shots under 100 yards. Uh, Seamus Power, uh, that’s his name. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, Sheamus Power. Yeah. Oh, said it wrong. Sorry. Sheamus Powers. He has a Ping S159 wedges. Then we look at iron. I went off the best ball striker on tour this year and green green and red percentages. Rico Hoy for his one iron, he chose a tailor-made P7MC. And for his two to eight irons, he opts for the tailor-made P730. And for driver, I went with total driving with the combination of accuracy and distance because if you go distance, then you’re looking at a guy like uh Aldrick Pot Eater actually Yeah, actually. Yeah. But he’s not as accurate. So, I went with a combination of two. And again, it’s Rico Hoy once again. Yeah, he had a Ping LST G440 nine degree loft. So, if you guys looking for the best bag that to play with, those are the best. Uh those are the best clubs you can play with, man. But obviously NFL season coming soon. This Thursday we got the Eagles versus the Cowboys. What me and Nate are going to do is we’re going to compare these golfers to a quarterback counterpart. I want to know what you guys think in the comments, man. Again, please like, subscribe, rate us on Spotify. Starting off here, Scotty Shuffler. Think that’s easy. Yeah, it’s Patrick Mahomes. What do you think? Yeah, it’s definitely Yeah, it’s definitely Patrick Mahomes. Both guys from Texas, they consistently are always in contention for Super Bowl, Western Conference, uh not uh not Western Conference, I’m thinking basketball. AFC West. AFC. Yeah. Or uh the AFC Championship, AFC Championship, excuse me. Uh but yeah, Scotty and Patrick Holmes without question. Roy Maroy though, dude. Okay. So, I I was talking I I you sent me that list and I a few of them I I haven’t I haven’t like compared them all yet, but like a few of them I thought about and a few of them like I’m just going to do a raw reaction. Okay. But Ror Rory is Aaron Rogers. Wow. The reason why Okay. Also, before I continue on this, I just want to say I don’t know if this is going to offend either a golfer or NFL player. Yeah. And I just hope that they don’t take any offense to us. This being said, you guys are in the NFL, you are in the PGA, you guys are kind of you guys kind of put yourself in a place of I don’t say criticism, but uh it just it kind of comes with the position unfortunately. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Unfortunately. Um and I just want everyone in the NFL or PJ to know that I think of I think of them in the highest regard. Yeah. That being said, now it’s out of the way. Yeah. So Rory Mroy is Rogers more of a more of a veteran just like Aaron Rogers. Um and he has strong opinions about the PGA and Aaron Rogers has strong opinions of the NFL. Yeah, that’s a decent comparison. Yeah, I actually I actually pit Matt Stafford because both of them couldn’t get the big show for the longest. Like is Matt St going to get a Super Bowl? He’s number one overall pick. Is Roy ever going to get the Masters? And then they finally get it like years later and they’re both like old and like well golf has more longevity than football but like they’re both vets in the game. Everyone knows who they are. So I gave him master comparison because it took Matt a long time to get the Super Bowl. It took Roy a long time to to get the Masters. Yeah. I guess I’ll say this. If Aaron Rogers wins the Super Bowl this year or if Matt Stafford wins the Super Bowl this year, then that person is more of a comparison to Rory because it’s like when because Rogers came in and he was like super hot like boom, everybody knew who he was. They saw those like the no look passes and like sideline catches and stuff like that. Um and then Rogers had a bit of a dry spell. So if he comes back and like does great this year, it’s like we’ll see. We’ll see. Uh, Victor Holllin. Yo, okay, dude. I thought about this one. I think you’re gonna like this. So, Victor Havlin, NFL comparison, Jameus Winston. Wow. That is I I I I get it from like he’s such a likable guy. Like, you cannot say anything bad about Victor Holland. Yes, dude. Skillwise, it’s like Well, I guess skill-wise like Jameson actually has a lot of skill. It just hasn’t been showcased as much as he would like. Well, like this is the thing with Victor Havlin, as much as I love him as a golfer, is that like he has a ton of upside. He can hit the ball really well. He like I feel like parts of his game it’s like, dude, that’s unbelievable. And then other parts of his game is like a big let down. Like he’s putting or something like that. Short game. Yeah. And and I feel like that’s the same thing with Jamus. It’s like, dude, he’s a very productive quarterback, but throws a lot of picks. You know what I’m saying? And yeah, but he’s just a likable guy. You know, he tears his ACL and starts dancing in a locker room post game. Like he I I do think like I think Victor, dude, no offense, everybody loves Jamus, you know, and I hope he has a great and I hope he has a great career in media after he’s done playing. But um uh uh but I feel like Victor is a bit of a better golfer than Jamus is a quarterback. Quarterback. Yeah. Yeah, I think from a personality standpoint, I think that’s a great pick. Um, and like I said, even from a skill set, like James has a big arm. He’s just a gunslinger, so he takes a lot of risk and stuff like that. But I actually picked Justin Herbert. You know, both these guys are like young but like ascending. Uh, one of the top highest paid quarterbacks, just hasn’t got past that hump to like do anything. Like, yeah, Victor has a tour championship in 2023 and stuff like that, but hasn’t like got the big one yet. And you know, Justin is good enough to get you to the playoffs, maybe win a playoff game, but then it just kind of halts right there. But the skill set and the talent is incredible. So yeah, I went with Justin Herbert. Uh Bryson Deambo. Dude, I I think Bryson’s comp is Josh Allen. And it granted like Josh Allen hasn’t won like a big like any big games, but he’s gone to like very very he’s gone very deep in the playoffs and I feel like Bryson only have he’s won the US Open twice. I think that’s it, right? That’s it been it been close other times but he hasn’t captured them. Yeah. So, I feel like that’s kind of comparable to what Josh Allen has done with as far as like how deep Josh Allen has gone. And the other thing is is because Josh Allen has a strong arm and Bryson Dshambo hits his driver far. Wow. So, that’s why that’s why Josh Allen is the Bryson of golf. I pick Lamar Jackson. Uh, again, two pe likable guys. Uh, if you look at from a live standpoint, Bryson, everyone loves Bryson. Look at it from a uh obviously just Baltimore, the city itself. Everyone loves um Lamar Jackson. You see Lamar Jackson doing other stuff with like uh what’s that dude’s name? I don’t really like him that much. I show speed. He does stuff like kind of some of these creators and stuff like that. Kind of like the Shambo doing like with his like you know YouTube golf as well. Now Lamar doesn’t do it as much as Bryson, but I think just in regards to like stardom explosive plays and stuff like that. Obviously, you talking about Bryson with the driver and then Lamar running with his legs. I think they both just produce big plays and they’re just likable. They’re just very liked by, you know, the league or the city that they’re playing in. Yeah. So, I had picked Lamar Jackson. Uh Dustin Johnson. DJ. Okay. I didn’t think about who DJ would be, but I like like DJ I wanted to pick like a like a Matt Stafford like Okay. He’s won he’s won a big one. He’s really really talented. The tough thing is is like I don’t get the sense that like Matt Stafford’s coasting and I feel like DJ is because I I think Matt really wants to win again. I just I think DJ wants to win too, but I just don’t think it’s to that extent. I think he is I mean there was a reason why he went to live and I think even even on like full swing he’s talked about like oh like why why would I work twice as hard for less money and stuff like that. So that’s why I kind of I don’t get that I don’t get that sense at all for from Matthew Stafford because I feel like he took a pay cut to stay with the Rams this off season you know. Yeah. So I I went with the opposite. So when you said Aaron Rogers for Roy Moy, I pick Aaron Rogers for Dustin Johnson DJ. Yeah. Because it’s like they won in the past, they were very talented and like now it’s like is that it? Is that the end of them? And we have this hope that they’re going to like revive their careers and like showcase what they were, but it hasn’t happened. And uh obviously Aaron didn’t do well with the Jets the two years he was there. He had the Achilles injury and then when he did play full-time, it didn’t go well. And again, live does not make you a worse golfer. But ever since DJ went to live, we have not seen like his play, you know, be what it used to be. Kind of like Ann Rogers. So I thought that was the the perfect comparison in regards to that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh John Rom. Dude, John Ro actually I have no clue who I I would say with John Rom for NFL quarterback. Like I can say one then if you want to think about it like like I almost want to throw in like Lamar with with John. Okay. Um but or maybe like a like a Joe Burrow or something like that. Like but I feel like that’s that’s really really high praise for for John Rom. Who do you think? I’m gonna I pick Josh Allen. I picked Josh Allen because And I picked Josh Allen because what’s Josh Allen’s kryptonite? Pat Mahomes and John Rom was always kind of close at least a few times in the majors and his kryptonite was Scott Sher. So it’s like can can Rom get past Scotty and and stuff like that? Obviously both very talented. Uh Rom super powerful down swing. I hate his swing, but super powerful swing. Uh Josh Allen with the big arm, big playmaking ability. Uh, and I say this with total respect. With total respect, but he’s a guy that he deserves his praise. He deserves his praise. But like, you know, he gets a lot of praise for not having won anything. And we know John Rom just got a lot of praise and live and he didn’t win a single this year, dude. Yeah. So, that’s my only thing. But Josh Allen’s a dog though. He is a dog. I I I hope MVP dude is that same. It’s the same thing. Just like John. Yeah. Yeah. But then like Yeah. Individually just Yeah. So, uh Yeah. I just I I just thought that was a good comparison especially because like who John Roberts Kryptonite is is Scotty. He’s probably he’s probably beaten Scotty some a few times, but like it’s not something consistent. Yep. Yeah. Uh two years ago. Two years ago. Two three years ago before Scotty was like But Scotty was like seventh there. It wasn’t like he like was headtohead with Yeah. You know, it it would be like if Josh Allen was going in this going into the playoffs and I’m like, let’s say Joe Burrow beats Mahomes. You don’t have to see him. They face each other. Yeah. And it’s kind of, dude, I just remember when the Cardinals play the went to the playoffs, I was kind of like, I hope the Eagles win. I forgot who the Eagles were playing. And I was like, I hope the Eagles win so then we play the Eagles and it’s an easier team to beat so we can go to the Super Bowl. Was this the year? Was this the year uh Eagles like kind of like faded off a little bit? Cuz they they went to Super Bowl, lost to the Chiefs. Next year they came back, they weren’t that good, but they lost in the first round of Buccaneers. This is like uh Big Nab. Oh, this is a while ago. Okay. Brent Celich. Yeah, this ago. Yeah, this is when the Cardinals at the Super Bowl with uh Kurt Warner Harrison. Yeah, James Harrison had the pick. Yeah, pick. Yeah, but I don’t know. I I don’t know. For me, I might have to just go with Joe Burrow for John Rom, though, for me. Like, interesting. I just But just because I can’t pick anyone else. All right. What about even though Aaron said Kurt Cousins for this, but I don’t agree. Uh JJ Spawn, that’s tough cuz uh like he’s I feel like the the the talent isn’t like doesn’t really wow you, but he does like very basic things well. I I think I think JJ’s more like a Brock party. That’s what I had. Yeah. Like I think he he does like where this guy come from and like he’s all Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I feel like like putting doesn’t, you know, get TV ratings up, but it it wins championships. You know what I’m saying? Yeah. Good point. Yeah. Like JJ Spawn, like his putting is amazing. He just, you know, hits down the middle, gets it on the green, and then one putt, you know. Yeah. With that lap putter. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. And I I feel like it’s the same thing with like Brock Party. It’s like, dude, making checks at line of scrimmage doesn’t make you great, you know? Do being really good with your reads and stuff like that doesn’t make you great. But, you know, Brock Pury wins games. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I will say the NFL guy checks and making reads do win you games. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. But like that doesn’t like sell like it’s not like Oh yeah. That Okay. In that Yeah. In that analogy. Yeah. From outside looking at it doesn’t. Yeah. Uh Lou Goldberg. See like Lou I would say is more like a Lamar with really how how everyone likes him. Uh he’s his talent is crazy, right? Like he’s got like MVP type talent like Lamar, you know, but um just really hasn’t won anything huge. Like I feel like when Lamar gets into the playoffs, it just kind of just kind of stalls out, you know. Um Yeah. But it’s the talent’s there. Yeah. I picked uh CJ Stra. Um I think Luig had a bit of a sophomore slump like CJ Stra did. Uh although he’s still well known as a quarterback, but he’s still the guy in Houston, a really really high talented guy. And then his rookie year per se like Luic was really really good as well as CJ Stroud and stuff like that. So, uh, I thought them both having this sophomore slump, uh, was what was compar comparable between, uh, those two. Colin Morau, dude, that one like with Colin, I want to say like Justin Herbert. Wow. Um, because because he’s really good. Talent’s there. Uh but like and like and and there are like aspects of Colin’s game where like it wows you. I think that’s thing with like Justin Herbert like it’s like oh shoot he just made that play you know. Yeah. Um yeah like like like I just think about like Colin’s like wedge shots and stuff like that. It’s like dang that that was magic that he did. Um but he’s only won the PGA twice if I remember correctly. Who? Colin. Colin. Yeah, I think he has a he has the open. I think he has the open and the PJ. Let me make sure I didn’t lie. Okay, my bad. My bad. I’ll make sure I didn’t lie. I think he does. I know he has two majors. Yeah, I think one’s the open. Yeah. 2021 Open Championship. 2020 PJ Championship. Oh, okay. All right. Yeah. So, having having two majors, I don’t know. That that that does make it hard for it to be like a Justin Herbert because has Justin Herbert won a playoff game? I think he’s won a playoff game, but he doesn’t go deep into the playoffs. Yeah, I know. He I know he’s been in the playoffs a few times, but it’s like Yeah, I feel like I I feel like that’s where the comparison starts to fall off, but the fact that they both can like make make plays or hit shots that are just like, “Oh, shoot. What a what a magician.” Like, I think that that’s kind of there, you know? I’m going with uh Trevor Lawrence because when Colin got in and Trevor got in, it was like, yo, they’re the next ones. Colin kept getting all these tire comparisons. Trevor Lawrence like he never lost a game in college and in high school like he is the next one. And although Trevor Lawrence can’t control this, he’s been through so many head coaches just like Colin’s been through so many caddies and you’re hoping that one of these coaches click for Trevor Lawrence and we can see the upside that he has as a player as well as Colin. Um, so yeah, I I think I think Trevor Lawrence, he’s won some playoffs, have some nice comebacks against the Chargers, I think in 2022 or 2021, I can’t remember. He had a nice comeback against the Chargers, down like 35 and came back and won, won some playoff games. Uh, I think Trevor Lawrence is is Colin’s best comparison cuz like we can have a really good season within a really down season, but again, he can’t control who his head coach is, but Kyle can’t control who his caddies are. So that’s a that’s a great comp, dude. that. Yeah. Yeah. Uh what? Hey yo, you I was going to say this. You know who I think I don’t think this guy’s on your list, but uh you know who I actually think is a good comparison with Trevor Lawrence is uh Max. Except for Max had a slow start uh in like it wasn’t like oh Max. But the reason why I say that is because they’re both national championships. You know who Max is? You know who Max is? Well, it had a slow start, right? And then he finally extended. Gino Smith. Oh. Oh yeah. Because Gino didn’t do nothing in the beginning and then finally something clicked for him. Gino started winning, started getting swagger back, started getting paid, started winning games. I think Gino and Max Homer are definitely comparable right there. Just slow start. And now unfortunately this year Max is not at the top of his game, but we see like how he ascended even off the slow start. Yeah, but Gino wasn’t at top of his game last year, I don’t think. He he played he he didn’t play like terrible, but he played still really good where Raiders Raiders paid him. Yeah. Yeah. Raiders paid him, but Yeah, I think Seattle tried to pay him, too. He just didn’t want that contract. Oh, really? I think so. Oh, okay. I I know. Like I know he still did well last year. He just didn’t I feel like two years ago he when he went or whenever he won the comeback player like he had he was yeah he was playing incredible uh Xander Shafle dude Xander that was a tough one like when I saw his name because I have I have a good comparison I think I picked uh I picked I picked Xander for Joe Burrow and my reason is because like when Joe Burrow and Xander are healthy they can compete with anyone And we saw how Xander did last year, but when they’re hurt, Xander this year or Joe Burrow when he has like a thumb or a knee, not as productive. But if you get a healthy Xander and a healthy Joe Burrow, these guys can compete with anybody. That’s a good one. Dang it. I already used my Joe Burrow pick. Uh, and Joe Burrow actually took down Patrick Mahomes and we seen how Xander took down Mahomes in the PJ Championship and the Open last year. Yeah, he took Well, he took down Bryson and then he took down Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But like but like Bryson at that time was the guy that could take that could take down Scotty, you know? And uh dang, dude, that was a great comparison. I freaking used my Joe Burrow pick, you know? Oh, John. I would almost say like if we can use like a past quarterback, it would be like I don’t want to say Payton Manning, but it would be like I don’t know, Ben Rothos like Ben Rothosberger or something like that. It’s just like he’s not like a a top top guy, but it’s like all of a sudden he’ll just beat somebody and it’s like, “Oh, shoot.” Like two Super Bowls. Now he’s Yeah. Now he won two Super Bowls, two majors. Boom. There we go. Yeah. Uh Tyrell Hat, dude. Tyro H. Tyrone Hat is a tough one because he hasn’t won anything in the PGA, per se. And he’s the best in he’s like one of the best in live even though he wasn’t in contention for player of the year. like it was between Rahm and uh Neman. Wa Neman. So, dude, throw a hat. That’s a tough one. Who do you got for who do you got for hat? Uh Baker Mayfield hasn’t won the big show, but yeah, very talented. Both of them are kind of like at least Baker’s not anymore, but you know how like Tower Hack can kind of be like shortfused and there was always like this uh perception of Baker Mayfield like like doing stuff like Yeah. Yeah. and Tyler H like spinning on his driver and like saying like dirty stuff but is is super super talented. Uh always showed up in the big tournaments this year in terms of majors. I think uh Baker did that this year. Every time it was Monday Night Football, Saturday Night Football, he showed up and Baker was like top five in touchdown pass through 49 touchdown passes. And we see like Ty has always up there um statistically u in u in like categories and stuff like that. So I thought I thought Tower had was Baker Mayfield. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I see that. I see what you mean like the Yeah. Not nec not like off the- field stuff, but like just he’s got like a little edge to him. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. For sure. Han like Turl Han was about to like blow a fuse at the US Open. Yeah. And then like and then JJ Spawn made the putt and he’s all like actually that you know that was a really good play. him and McIntyre were both like, “All right, you know, if I lost that way, like give the trophy to him because he just he earned that, you know.” And I would say this, too, once both Baker and Tyro had a change of scenery, PGA to live and Cleveland to the Bucks, the Bucks, their game ascended. Both their game extended point. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like Baker was still good at He had one good year at Cleveland as a full-time start. His rookie year was solid. He just had when Tyrod got hurt, he came in and did pretty solid, but those other two years weren’t really good. Then he had that he was jumping around from like Carolina to the Rams. Rams. Yeah. And then finally solidified with the Bucks and now it’s like you found your home. Yeah, he’s a top he’s definitely top half in the league for Yeah. quarterback play, bro. 49 touchdowns is crazy. He had 49 touchdowns last year. He had 49 touchdowns, bro. It’s It’s so overlooked. You’re like, “Oh, shoot. He had 49 touchdowns.” I did not know that he had 49 touchdowns. That’s crazy, dude. Again, let me make sure. Is it 49 like passing and rushing or just No, I think just passing. Dang, dude. My bad. He had 41 touchdowns. 41 touchdowns. Dude, but over 40 is crazy. You know what I’m saying? He threw 4,500 yards, 41 touchdowns, 16 picks. And that ratio is okay if you’re throwing 41 touchdowns. Yeah, that that’s actually crazy. I didn’t even think the Buccaneers had 41 touchdowns as an offense, dude. Like Yeah. Yeah. Baker had a really good year. I don’t think like like that. You know what’s crazy to think about with with just Baker’s arms, he probably had more touchdowns than the entire Cardinals offense. Yeah. Unfortunately, you know, cuz I don’t think the Cardinals had 41 touchdowns that like last year. Probably not. I had to look up look that up. I But I I don’t see any Cardinals doing that, unfortunately. Yeah. Yeah. All right. No, I I I think I think that’s a great Now that you pointed out, I think that’s a great comparison. I think Yeah. Hatton and Baker. Well, what about Justin Thomas? JT. That’s So, my my brother was saying he’s like I think Lamar is like a JT. Like he’s got all the talent in the world. Okay. Um but just doesn’t win. I’m trying to I already used my Lamar one on Ludvig, though, so I said Jared Hall. Yo, dude, number one pick. Has all the talent in the world. Has been to the Super Bowl uh before, has been to the NFC uh u championship before. Just unfortunately, you know, hasn’t closed, but has also won before. Has a huge skill set. JT has a huge skill set. have the strongest arm and JT’s not the biggest hit off the tea, but he can score and we see Jarro Golf do that with the offense in Detroit and JT also just doing what he has to do to score on the PJ. Like we look back at the uh RBC Heritage, Novak was just out driving JT every time, but JT was finding a way to score. Yeah. So, dude, I don’t want to throw shade. I I feel like this would actually offend someone uh one of these players. I now that you say that I feel like it’s like Kurt Cousins. Wow. Um even though even though JT has won a few majors, but I feel like as of recently and I’m like because obviously Kurt Cousins didn’t have a great year last year. Um no, but he had like Did you watch quarterback documentary? Yep. Yeah. He had that shoulder thing and then he and then he got benched, you know. Yeah. Um who? But oh, Kirk Kirk Cousins. Yeah, but Kirk Cousins was played well wellish uh for like the first half of the year was winning games, you know, and then kind of stalled out and got benched. I almost feel like that’s analogous with JT. I feel like he did well up until RBC and then I don’t know, dude. I like I’m not This is the thing, too. This other thing with JT as well, like we’ll see golf like get some random record like most completions in the first half without a incompletion. And we saw JT always like get like broken record on the front N. It’s like what the heck? That’s so good. And Jared Golf hit that so many times, bro. He’s broken numerous records and like you don’t even think about it’s like did you just break this record and JT do the same. Yeah, he had at he had more like last year he had more uh touchdowns and incompletions up like up until Yeah, like week eight or something. Something something crazy like that. Yeah. And he threw like four picks. Ah, I remember that game. They still won that game, too. But yeah, but I do remember that game. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh you know what, dude? Jared Goff is a great comparison with with JT. like number one pick. Got a big contract with the Rams. Uh got traded. Got a big contract with Oh, yeah. Was it? Yeah. Yeah, you’re right. I think it’s big contract. They got traded. Yeah. And then they got traded. So then Detroit took that contract. Um Wait, did No. No. Cuz JT had a cat a different caddy because his caddy was his original caddy was like sick or something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He was with uh Matt Thomas’s old caddy for just for the one he won. Yeah. Yeah. If it wasn’t one he won and then he’s like, “All right, my guy’s healthy. Thank you.” Cuz he had a back injury, Miss Caddy. Yeah. Oh. Oh, it was an injury. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, Maverick McNeely. That That one’s tough cuz I like I don’t really know Ma Ma McNeely’s game that well, but he just I feel like he just hangs in there. Um, hey, Tua. I don’t know. I pick I pick Tua, dude. I was going to say someone like a Baker or like a Tua, but like Baker I feel like is like too high. I don’t say too high of praise. Like I feel like Maverick McNeely deserves a lot of praise. Tua is and they’re both always hurt. And they’re both always hurt. Is Matt always hurt? He has his second back surgery. Are you serious? Oh yeah. Yeah. So he missed the rest of this season because of his back and then Tua always has something. But like when they’re on they’re on like we seen I forgot which Dang, which tournament was it? was it PJ championship that year where Mavic McNeely got second, but like two would kind of show splash like that where two can go out there and throw for like 400 yards, five touchdowns. It’s like I think Mavique can always like sneak and show you like what he can do. Um but their injury history is kind of hurting them from like oh Mavery dog. You know what I’m thinking? I meant to say Wills Al Torres. That’s who I was comparing two. I’m tripping. I meant Will. My bad. Will Al Torres is more comparable to Tua. I’m tripping. I’m tripping because Will Alto Torres had two back surgeries. Yeah. Forgive me for that, guys. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, that’s a good point cuz like Tua has the same injury over and over again, which is just concussion stuff. And then Will’s out Willie Z has the same mind thing going on. Yeah. Yeah. Um Yeah. My bad Maverick. Yeah. And they’re both they’re both like top top guys. Like they were both highly touted when Willie Z came out of Wake For was it Wake Forest? I’m not sure. But that’s how it was when tour came out of Alabama. Yeah. Like when Well, when Willie Z came out, he was was it his rookie year or second year when he like was in the playoff with uh That’s that’s that’s what I’m thinking. He got second. Was it u was it uh Ricky Fowler? Is it Ricky Fowler? JT and Will Zorus. No, I think it was just Will Will Will Torres and JT or it might have been like Will Zour against like Mito Poda or something like that. I forget. I think that that was JT’s that was JT’s year. Yeah. Yeah. So, Will Al Torres uh PJ Championship JT lost the three-hole aggregate. Yeah, it was him. Uh JT uh Yeah, it was Al Torres. Yeah, that’s what it was. Um, and there was one more. I like I could have sworn 2021. Oh, yeah. 2021 Masters uh was out to got second. Got sec. Yeah, I remember that. Yeah, that was when Scotty won. Mhm. Oh, yeah. Yeah. No, I I think I think he’s I think Tua is great comparison with Willie Z because it’s like same injury. Uh they’re both like smaller guys, you know. Yeah. Size. Even knowing Dr. Re doesn’t matter. It does. It doesn’t really matter. Like Brian Harmon’s winning, you know, tiny guy. Yeah. Short. Yeah. Um but yeah, like I think the the same injury and like not having and they still have a lot to prove like both Willie Z and Tua have a lot to prove in their careers. Yeah. Um but have been close. So yeah. Uh, so the next one we just you just said his name. Me Pierre. Yeah. I don’t know. I feel like is there like a little brother kind of quarterback in the league? Like uh cuz like I feel like Walke Nean is like the big brother of like Meato. Like just like hey I’ll take you under my wing and show you the ropes kind of a thing. like uh uh like I I would almost say like a Michael Penn, but but like we don’t know yet his we don’t know how he’s going to finish. Well, we don’t know how well but like I Yeah. Whereas like Meato, we’ve we’ve seen more tape, if you will, on Meato. Um but it would be like if Michael Pennix plays and then it’s like he’s just an average quarterback and kind of like uh Anthony Richardson. kind of like Anthony Richardson. That’s who I got. I Well, I compared Anthony Rich because Go ahead. Well, I just like Anthony Richardson. Oh, no. He did sit behind uh he was supposed to sit behind well Joe Flacco winning a few times being like he he got benched a few times. My whole reason for saying me Anthony Richson because super talented. We see flashes obviously PJ Championship but we see what happen when they both take risk. Doesn’t work out well. PJ championship once again and Anthony Rich just lost his starting job to Daniel Jones and Me Pierre just got relegated from Liv so they both lost their spots. So I’m just like bro you’re somebody who has so much upside so much talent but you got to take a backseat. So I thought Meo was a comparison to Anthony Richardson. That’s that’s a good one. That that dude that s I actually didn’t even know he got relegated from live. That sucks man. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he was like bottom five, dude. That sucks cuz he had he had a great year before he he went off to Yeah. Like cuz he’d been on tour for uh several number of years I think before he went to live, but he had that great run at the PGA and like it was like dude you what if next year was your breakout year on the on tour? You know what I’m saying? Like went for the money and then Yeah. And then now he’s back to no status anywhere essentially, you know? Yeah. Yeah, I don’t know how it works getting back into the field, but yeah, PJ Championship 2022 finished T3 and then his best masses finish is T43. He’s missed the cut at the US Open. Every time he’s played in it, he’s missed the open. But we see he has incredible upside. Uh, but just got relegated and Christian just lost his spot to Daniel Jones. So, is he is he about to like is there like a practice squad for Liv or something? You know, I don’t know. I have to look into that, bro. That’s why I say I don’t know how they get new people. I mean, I know some guys get like recruited. Um, we talk about Joseph Ballister coming over or Caleb Serant two years ago getting called up by John Rom. Um, so it just depends. Last person I have is we Neman, man. Like I feel like I already used some quarterbacks that I like would like to use for Neman, but Walk Nean hasn’t won a major, right? Hey man, he’s Dak Prescott. So, think about this. Dak Prescott is the highest paid quarterback. When you look at uh um money one on each tour comparison, I think we has just as much as money as Scotty, but he does not win the big show, but super talented, but he doesn’t. So, I think we even Dak Prescott. And I think a lot of people in regards to what Chris said, people would say that Dak Prescott is overrated. Oh, yeah. People were saying that about walking. You know what, dude? This this is the thing too I’m thinking about is playing for the Cowboys low-key is kind of like playing for Liv. You know what I’m saying? Like you got this owner who is like kind of a pioneer. I I know like the whole Micah Parsons things kind of uh diminishes my state. It kind of diminishes my statement a little bit. But I feel like with Jerry Jones being like, “No, we’re going to have our own practice facility.” Like just a lot of the things he did as a pioneer for for the NFL, like he made the NFL what it is. And like this uh mean the Cowboys. I’m Well, like No, he made the NFL what it is because like when he would I feel like wasn’t the Cowboys like the first pe people to have like their own indoor facility and now everybody has it. Yeah. Um just stuff like that. I feel like he changed the NFL by kind of doing what he did for the Cowboys. The NFL like took it on. M um PJ’s not trying to take on anything Liv is doing unfortunately. Yeah. Yeah. But I I Yeah. But I do think like we Neman going to the Liv, he’s playing for like these guys that were trying to be pioneers in the game. Like you know, playing for playing for the Liv is like playing for Jerry Jones is is that’s kind of like what what I’m trying to say. Yeah. Um yeah, I think the ownership with Liv is gonna get a little better now because Greg Norman’s not there anymore. But yeah. Yeah. I I And I do think what other thing too is I I think like with the guy coming from the NFL, the commissioner for the PGA come from the NFL and the NFL kind of being like, “Hey, the UFFL is going to be our our trial and error league because we’re going to try these rules with the UFFL. They do not adopt it.” Like I I wonder if the new commissioner for the NFL is going to be like, “Hey, Liv is going to be that league that we try these new rules.” Um I don’t know. It’s tough because it’s like you you can’t just change the rules of golf. Like yeah, the PGA can’t at least like it’s got to be the USGA along with the PGA of America that we’re going to come together and change rules. But yeah. Um yeah, I don’t know. Anyways, all I say Walke Neman and Dak Prescott, I think that’s a fantastic comparison. Yeah, man. Uh, both super paid but have not won the big show, but super talented. Good quarterback. Yeah. Yeah. Good quarterback. But guys, we would love to know your thoughts on our PGA golfer comparison to the NFL quarterbacks with again NFL football coming on this Thursday. Eagles, Cowboys. Uh, let us know your thoughts in the comments. Let us know your thoughts about the RDER Cup. Who’s going to win the Ryder Cup? the European side, the USA side, and we’ll see you on the next episode of Golf and Gospel.
