Tristan Norris had a bad time on the PJ tour, but he loves it here. This is his third shot into the par five down the hill 14. Watch this spin back out in 31. The birdie the 14th, Eagle the 15th. This is his approach to the tricky par 316th. And another honey bunch right down the flag. Superb. trying to finish up here at the last. This round one, remember? Yeah, just found the front of the green here. Lawrence and bingo. Seven underpass 63 for Lawrence. What a start. Did he strike it right? He sure did. That’s a lovely shot. Particularly tricky with the wind into your face. You got to know you got a picture right up by the flag. Oh, lovely iron shot. The cut’s going to this green slope from right to left. Left edged vermish. Firmish. Well done. You can wrigle out the bird. Just a little saw off one here. Back into the breeze. [Applause] Excellent stuff. When the top end of the leaderboard, it does take it out of you. Sier par. T-shot to blame. Really shortsided himself. Can the putter make amends. Oh yes it can. It’s a great level of that club. See the top of the ball way down the shaft going to sort of punch a rescue out of there. Oh my. Oh my. Oh my. What a glorious, glorious shot. Reminded me of Lee Travino woven way back when at the 18th. Hit a three-wood like that right next to the halter. Eagle chance. Can he? Oh, he can. Brilliant. Brilliant stuff. Nearly went out of bounds or brushed with the out of bounds fence. moves to 800. Almost a little little cunning smile there. Even if he misses it in the bunker on the left hand side, it’s not a terrible miss. It’s going to be difficult to get a decent strike on this. So, it’s smart to use more loft. Front left portion of the green would be a good result. Jump. Sit down now. Sit. Oh, good job. It did jump. Great shot from Jordan Smith. However he got there. Well, Jordan Smith for an eagle. Quick putt down the slope. Putter’s not behaving is it this afternoon. First birdie of the day or the afternoon anyway for Jordan Smith. moves to eight under. [Music] Birdie chance. Birdie chance. Hit the hole. Oh my goodness. Dead center. Yeah, pretty good. Three birdies on that back nine. He heads off to the harder ninth. 253 for Smith on the up slope with wind helping. Got the four iron. Is it enough club? Plays a long way uphill. This second shot. Sit down. Sounded good. It’s better than good. It’s brilliant. Hill this part. Tickly one. Left to right for the eagle for the second time today. [Music] And he finds it. That’s terrific. For what way this one’s going to go in. Just out of the right. Good read. Right in the middle. The static start here from Wallace. Is that because that was you back in the day as well? I seem to remember. No, sure. No, I try to keep things moving to try and get as much stress and tension out the arms. Well, it’s T-shot just hung on there. All this it’s on the putting surface and no more. That’s a little slider ever so slightly back up the slope so he can be nice and aggressive with it. Give it a good chance. It’s a two at the 16th. That would be a feel like you’ve picked up one on the field. Well done, Matt Wallace. He’s been patient today, but just to the left hand side, you can get the thing spinning towards it. We never saw Colton. I remember when I played this solo, I remember trying to hit it straight as opposed to the wind’s out of his left. The P sort of wants to go right to left maybe, but the wind could push it to the right once more. Sad you to 11 32. Goodness me, he’s one shot worse from around the 130 mark. So it’s with a wedge with a bit hurt into the face. Flag at the front. Yes. Now we’re cooking. It’s lying. Okay. Nice angle. Bble of defeat. Help him get quite steep on it. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Wallace to get to it. Nine under within two of Sadi. Yeah, it’s amazing how much difference it makes. Anything you can do, I can do better. What an iron shot. Very sparse on bird. Is this his first his feet? This is about as easy as it gets from this range. He might even scare this one. Got here eventually. Lovely little touch. That’s what That’s just the kind of guy you are. One left to go here. Jumpers are on. It’s a wee bit nippy out here. Bumped into a few Scots on my travels around these fairways. See what Wallace has got for us. Scots. Oh. Well, that’s unlucky, isn’t it? Hit the flag. Oh, no. Where’s that? It’s about 10 ft below the hole. It would have been just a little short right. That would be the perfect spot. Thank you. Yeah, pretty good for Wallace. Pin height. That would be a good one to hold. And he has kept up ahead of steam. He was diving left as it was slowing. 10 under par, just one behind. Good looking car, too. Yeah. Brilliant. Just a little low stinging gripper from left to right. And he’s played a beauty. So did Coover. Got it to about 5 ft and W’s company. I think that gets knocked in once more. You can take it a little long. Use this loop to bring it back. It’s all about distance control. Delightfully controlled 8T 167 to a very much getable pin here at 8. New green this year. The Trist Meister with a bit of break on this to get to 11 under. Hit it. Yeah, he’s done it. I thought it was going to turn a fraction more than that. A lovely two at the eighth. Here is Hygot. Two- shot at seven. This is the tiger line. Come on, Spency. Certainly is. Apologies for the language. I don’t know what that was about, but straight at it. Great shot that for an eagle, too. Goody. Could he looking like two is going to have to have a long wait tomorrow afternoon. Yeah, just a second eagle on the seventh hole today. Two eagles in his round and this green ping up the slope. Bit of left to right in it as well once it gets on top. Well, safe. He’s put himself in a wonderful position with two rounds to go. Still can make another birdie. Yeah. A placed lie. Not much green to work with. How’s he going to get to this flag the oldfashioned way? I thought it might use a slope behind. Gracefully played. Really sweet. Matt Wallace. Can he bounce back with a long birdie part here at eight? Oh yes he can. That’s the part of a champion right there. every week of course record isn’t attained to get 30 been very very impressive the French 6265 for him and it goes and the curtain comes down on a career that they promised much ultimately life in the game would conspire against him but only the best make it out on tour. He’s a warm character, a lovely guy. I think you can see that in the feelings of his colleagues there. Beautiful swinger of the golf club. Mike, I know it wasn’t what you hoped for in terms of results for this week, but this week signifies so much more than that, doesn’t it? So, how special that you had your your last event as a tour player right here in Switzerland? Yeah, as as I said, there’s a lot of things going on here. um as I lost my dad here and having my mother and my kids here and well I played like but I just didn’t manage to go through the the emotions so I hit the ball anyway so but at least I was with my friends and and my family so that was spot on. Yeah, for sure. I just got to apologize for that language quickly. I know it’s the emotions are coming out but walking with your daughters hand in hand knowing that that would be here for the last time. How did you feel on the fairway there? Well, the I I was feeling actually okay until until coming on the fairway. So, uh yeah, felt great. Felt great to have them here and support me and be patient to walk 36 holes together. So, that was spot on. Messi. Messi. Looking back, you’ve had some incredible moments in your career. What were some of the proudest ones? Ah, you know, like the final DP and that was good. And as I said the other day, uh making at least trying the the closing for the Ride Cup. That was really good. and had some good finishes at French Open in front of my crowd and some good uh good PJ championship and stuff. So, well, didn’t manage to to take a trophy, but at least we had fun for a lot of years and played some good golf and made some great friends and good travel and thanks to the DP World Tour. Yeah, you’re known as a great player, but also a great character as well. Generated so many memories along the year. So, how would you hope to be remembered by by tour professionals and and fans as well? Well, as they want actually I try my best to be to be nice to everybody. I know sometime I have a big temper and sorry to some referees. Um but yeah uh I just tried to play my best and and try to be fun and cuz it’s already a hard game so you know just try to take all the seriousness out of it and just focus and hit the shot. So I don’t know how people are going to remember me but I don’t know. Fun is good. Uh, you’ve retired, but you’ve not disappeared. You won’t do that. So, what’s what’s next for you? Uh, I got plenty of opportunities. Uh, actually, I’ll be in Worth to work a bit with the tour. So, that’s going to be fun. And yeah, I got other other opportunities a bit everywhere. So, just need to organize it now. Okay. You’ll be sorely missed, but best of luck for the future. Merci. Thank you. [Applause] To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. 1. This apologising on someone elses behalf is absolutely pathetic. Is she not a grown adult who can think for herself? Realise the emotion of the situation as anyone would. Absolutely nauseating

  2. Mike Lorenzo Vera is a top guy, and sad that he is quitting🙌🏻. Saw him a few times at the BMW at Wentworth and was always fun to watch and interacting with the crowd

  3. I remember Mike being first on the practice ground at Birkdale once. He acknowledged the few fans that were there and had a laugh with us. Top man. All the best for the future.
