I went back through Trackman reports and put in WAY more shot data. Smoothed things out some, albeit the general sentiment remains that this is obviously more a skill issue than equipment issue. Gotta earn my Reddit username, after all.

The wedges are labeled a 58 and 52, but when I went to have them measured turned out they were a 56 and 48 respectively. Had them bent back 1° to get them closer to true, but kept the actual lofts in the name title.

This doesn’t look like a gapping issue, this looks like a swing issue. At the very least, I’d make the data sample a lot larger so that a handful of bad shots aren’t skewing it, but I’d guess this has zero to do with equipment.

Post a swing or some actual numbers like path / face to path / dynamic loft / launch / AoA etc. Can’t do anything with this.

So just triaging your bag, I would dump the 3w and look at either a 7w or a 3h. Idk why you don’t have a 5i, but good chance you can find one that matches your set. Up to you, but you’re probably not going to get a lot of use out of that club rn anyway.

Obviously your ball striking is inconsistent, so wedges are going to be a CF until you figure that out. I’d consider something closer to the zip core (basically just a used club from a reputable OEM) for the w-49 and the SW. I play similar mizunos through the pw and use a 48°/53°/58° wedge setup. The 53 is a 54 bent strong a degree and has a high bounce (better for soft/fluffy lies), the 58 has a low bounce (better for hard pan and nippy lies). The 48 is a regular vokey f-grind which is basically just a blade GW. You could also get the matching hot metal GW here.

As far as the trackman data, I’m not sure you’re getting good data. I doubt you have consistent enough ball striking to glean a ton. If you’re leaving mishits in the data then you’re not really helping yourself. Like if you average 75 yds with your LW, but those shots arrayed like:
    85 pured
    100 skulled
    50 flubbed
    65 off hosel
Then playing for a 75 yard average is meaningless.

I’d just focus on ball striking right now. Hit middle of face with each club and then start working on gapping.

This is what I love about golf. No matter how good or bad a person is, we all geek out over the technical details the very same.

Presumably a >30hdcp looking at gapping makes me chuckle.

With all the love, friend, you are correct. You don’t have a gapping issue. You have a swing and contact issue. You have 13 clubs listed and a total of maybe 7 distances. Making changes to the lofts of your wedges and irons is silly.

Instead of worrying about perfecting your gapping, put your 3 wood, 7 and 8 iron, and 57 degree wedge in the closet and just carry 8 clubs. Once you improve your swing, reintroduce the other clubs.

Hot tip: you need to hit 140 yards but only have your 6 iron and 9 iron in the bag? Choke up an inch and a half on the 6 iron and it will go 140.
