BOYS GOLF

In Heritage Conference golf, Homer-Center crushed Portage by 71 strokes at Immergun Golf Club in Loretto.  The Wildcats’ Brayden Rado was medalist as he fired a one-over 37, highlighted by a chip-in eagle three on the par-five first.  Reece Coy and Noah Todd both shot 43, and Jordy Arone and Ty Steffey shot 44, with Aidan Darr shooting 48.  Portage was led by Logan Gentile’s 43.

Indiana keeps rolling with a WPIAL Section win over Hempfield, outshooting the Spartans by seventeen strokes.  Indiana shot 200 at Greensburg Country Club, led by medalist Austin Schawl’s 38.  Drew Brocious was a stroke back at 39, followed by Chace Force and Will Steve, both at 40, and Ryan Bell’s 43.  Indiana is 10-2 and 5-1 in the Section with a home match against undefeated Latrobe coming up tomorrow.

 

GIRLS GOLF

Indiana’s girls golf team has won three matches in a row, yesterday edging North Catholic by just three strokes in a thriller.  Liliana Manzi hit a beautiful tee shot on number seven at the Indiana Country Club and converted a crucial birdie putt.  Indiana’s Julia Antonacci was medalist with a 47.   Manzi sot 54, Laken Kugler 60 and Lelise Allison a 62.
