The moment we first met Caroline, we knew she was something special. We had never seen Alec so speak so highly of anyone and he was completely enamored by her. She’s the best aunt to Ellie, a great sister to us, but most importantly, she’s the perfect partner for Alec. cuz we’ve all known you were going to be the one for Alec. Not just for the incredible human we got to know, but for what we’ve seen in Alex since he has had you in his life. We’ve never met someone quite like you. Caroline, today I marry my best friend, my greatest blessing and the love of my life. As I stand here ready to begin this new chapter with you, my heart is full of gratitude and joy. You’ve brought light into my life always that in ways I never imagined possible. Your kindness, your laughter, your strength, and your love made me a better man. We couldn’t ask for someone who better compliments Alex’s caring, generous, and family oriented nature. It has been such an honor to watch you and Alec grow in the last four years. You both support and care for each other in all of life’s moments, both big and small, and I know you will carry that with you into your marriage. To Abby and I, you have felt like a sister from the beginning. You have supported us with so much love and excitement through all of life’s big moments, and it means so much that we’re able to stand by your side now through this special time. The older I get, the more I realize how rare it is to find families who wholeheartedly support each other, have each other’s backs, and love so unconditionally. It means so much to all of us that you value that bond as much as we do and understand its importance. Alec has always been the guy you can count on. He has a heart of gold and a willingness to help anyone who needs it. He shows up, he pitches in, he makes things easy for everyone around him. He’s one of those the most loyal, dependent, and genuine guys that I’ve ever met. And then came Caroline. From the very beginning, I could tell she was different. Not just because of the way Alex lit up around her, because she matched his every way. Caroline, you look absolutely beautiful tonight. And more than that, you’re the best thing that has ever happened to Alec. You bring out the best in him, and that’s saying something because he’s already pretty great. Together, you two are a perfect match. Supportive, loving, and ready to face life as an unstoppable team. Alec, Caroline, on this your wedding day, I challenge you to promise each other that you will love the other more than you did the day before for the rest of your life. I want to bring him home, you know, so you get to meet him.” I said, “Wow, this really must be special.” We meet Alec and we love him. All right. And I said, “Caroline, you always made great decisions, okay, from not playing basketball, for becoming a teacher, and now you met the love of your life.” Again, a great family. The Calvettes almost took her in like she was their daughter. All right. And I can’t thank the Calvettes enough. So again, if you’re lucky enough to have children, you got great supporting families. All these people here, like Father Hafa said, are going to be your friends for life. And again, I’m glad you met each other. You are good for each other. And congratulations. Karoline and Alec’s wedding day was one of those that reminds me why I love what I do. Set against the lush greens of Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Delaware, their celebration felt effortless, genuine, and full of love.
From their heartfelt Catholic ceremony at Holy Angels Parish to the way they soaked up every moment together, these two were completely present with each other and their people. Their eucalyptus and navy palette set the tone for a day that was both timeless and relaxed, and it couldn’t have fit them better.
Some of my favorite moments? Watching Alec’s reaction during their vows, seeing Karoline absolutely glowing in her dress, and catching all those quiet, candid interactions between them and their families. These two were surrounded by so much love, and you could feel it everywhere.
