Can a Pro Golfer Beat Your Local Golf Course?
What would a pro golfer shoot at an everyday golf course? The kind that lacks distance, but has bumpy greens, wild lies, and definitely no gallery to point out weward shots. This is This is thick. Holy smokes. Today, I’ve invited pro golfer Neil Shipley back to the course where it all began, Mount Lebanon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. What do you think the title of the video should be? Neil Shipley back at his home course or like you know where he grew up playing golf. You would very rarely see this on tour. No, never. Never see this on tour. Nothing like this. This is the age-old question, folks. Pro golfer versus public golf course. Let’s find out. We’re at Neil’s childhood golf course. He came here to practice as a seven-year-old and he’s back. How you doing? Well, I’m still here. But you’re going to put you have an autograph before you leave. I’ll do it right now. Good. Well, congratulations, young man. Thank you. Appreciate it. Thank you. Good to see you. Well, good luck. Thank you. Great to see you. You’re good luck. Take care. Thank you. That’s awesome. That guy’s a man. He he ran the junior program here when I was young. We’d get the first tea time out here as juniors and on Thursdays or something in the summertime and I would always come here in the summer and go play. It was it was I mean awesome. And that’s kind of where I first started, you know, getting into the game. And I mean this is this is where it all started here. So it’s a special place to me. Mount Lebanon open to the public. First MUN in Pennsylvania. You want to go inside? You want to check it out? Yeah, I see. I mean, I I’ll bet the smell is going to take you back. Whoa, look at this. I have metal spikes that I could wear in here cuz I’m nostalgia. They got They used to be an ice cream machine right here. It’s gone. That’s brutal. But yeah, this is remember we’d play. You come in. I mean, I remember one time I paid in like like quarters and dimes. Yep. To come and play here. Used to get that all the time. Yeah. We’ve made a bunch of the videos which are what would an amateur golfer shoot at a like a the hardest course. Yeah. So now the question is what would a pro golfer shoot at the easiest course? This also happens to be your childhood course. So there’s kind of a subplot there. But yeah, it’s cool. How are you going to approach this differently than you know a course that’s built for your game? Now I I know the course kind of well. Um but it’s been a long time since we’ve played. So, I gotta kind of figure out where I want to be aggressive and lay back, especially with how the greens, how much slope there is on them and everything. Also gonna have to adjust like short game and green speed. I’ve been used to firm, faster surfaces and it’s definitely softer out here right now just cuz it’s May in Pittsburgh and it’s a little slower. So, all right. So, first hole here, par three, 165 on the card. Back left 10 plays down about like five yards. Okay. The first four holes, it’s kind of like a gust. So, everything goes towards a shop and save that way. So, like I mean, do you do you want a couple warm-up swings? No. Okay. Like I was do it like I was younger. Yeah. We’re We’re going to like kind of just thin this nine iron out there and hope for the best. Oh, yeah. Oh. Oh, wow. That went a long ways. That went really far. I mean, that was nice. Yeah, I was good. I was good for the first swing. Yeah. This the first time you’ve been back to this course since when? How long? Oh gosh. Maybe last time I played was in high school. Wow. Did I nick you there? You hit my toe. Oh, so sorry. It’s all good though. Yeah, I can get you a signed glove later. Sign a glove. Did you really? That’s a That’s a good pin there. Step and a half. That’s definitely You wouldn’t see that on to a lot. No, I we don’t see ones like this a ton. I’m thinking if you throw it up in the air, it should be soft enough it just kind of like plugs, but let’s see. Plug. Ah, you got some bounce to it. Yeah. I mean, they’re they’re not as soft as they could be. No. This one’s going left. A little uphill. All right. This would be the first time I boogied this hole, so that’s for sure. Oh, come on. All right. I mean, that was it. Okay, that’s my one. Let’s uh let’s get it going. So, slight dog leg right here. Okay, there should be no reason not to hit driver unless they’ve added something up there. Wow, it’s another that’s a really good pin there on three, by the way. Yeah, they set him up for us. I guess that’s They were not messing around. Green keeper’s revenge. That is way too far left. Really? Yeah, it’d be okay. But that’s like that’s that’s the 280 tree there. So, I’m gonna be I’ll be past the tree or underneath it. Okay. You’ll be a little red at that. I think I think I think I I knew I liked playing competitively when I was younger. I played other sports. I as a baseball player. I played some basketball. I loved golf. I played golf all day in the summer every day. And you I think I started to get really serious in the beginning of high school. And I saw the US Open here when I was 15 years old, 2016 Open. And I think kind of that was part of what, you know, I saw that stage and I think that made me want to get to that stage, play at that level and like experience that for myself. Yeah. Wow. That is a public golf course. When I was a kid, I would have just gone at it. I think I still might do the same thing, honestly. No, I’m just going to try and hit that window right there. Like we got a little window. See what happens. That looked good. That was good. Yeah, it was solid. I’d have a good look at it. So, when you’re hitting out of rough that thick, do you just do you swing it normal? Are you swinging steeper? What do you anything? So, I’m pretty steep to begin with. I’m already like eight or seven degrees down on the ball. Okay. So, I don’t have a lot of issues getting into it. Um, and then speed. You got to create a lot of speed. So like I think when you’re in rough, it’s really thick. You just want to be like might take one less club with a little more loft. Okay. And just hack at it. Rate this shot for you. Like I was pretty good. Like that’s pretty good. A good gauge is pretty much always if you’re 10% of your yardage in feet are a really good shot. Oh, interesting. So if you were 200 yards out, you hit the 20 feet, that’s a sick shot, right? Oh my gosh. Yeah. And a little more pace. It’s all right. Just got to keep giving oursel chances. How does this green compare to uh the greens you played on last week in Mexico? Well, honestly, like the way they roll, like these ones aren’t bouncing. Yeah. So, it’s pretty similar. Like they’re rolling pure just speedwise. They’re slower, right? And Mexico, they’re a good bit firmer. Yeah. We we usually cornf fairy tour we get usually smooth greens that are a little softer. Okay. But they’re you know in the range of like 10 and a half to call it 11ish. Okay. So pretty good. Got to talk about this like would you ever have guessed the playoff would have been five holes? No. No. Definitely not. At what point on the fifth hole did you know the putt was going to go in? Uh I thought it was short until about it was you know in the hole. Right. Honestly, I I thought it was going to end up being short. I mean, it barely trickled in there. Dude, I feel like we’re in a um Norman Rockwell painting, you know, just like golf in America. I feel like this is kind of like just how MUN golf is when you’re in like Pittsburgh or a lot of these small towns. Yeah. Dog leg left here. All right, folks. Once again, I’m skyping in from another location in time. We’re in Denver. We just finished shooting Adventures in Golf here at Rodeo Dunes. I found oneing element left in my bag. If you haven’t had element, first of all, we’re at 4,800 feet right here. If you find yourself dehydrated, which you can at high altitude, you have to drink these. I usually drink two a day, especially on the golf course when it’s hot. You’re wondering if I’m going to drink the whole thing. If I drink the whole thing, what do they get? They get the free sample pack, right? My favorite flavor, watermelon. But currently I’m rocking grapefruit. All right, I can do this. It’s going to be kind of cold, but I can do it. I got bra I got bad brain freeze. Thank you, Element, for supporting our films. Go to drinkelement.com/rgc and get a free eight flavor sample pack with any purchase. The fact that it’s good for me is almost a surprise cuz it tastes so good. A little peek here too at four green. Yeah, it’s another great pin down there. Yeah. Yeah. A lot of elevation change here. Maybe a bit too far left, but left is better than right. Okay. So, at this course, which of the holes are you really looking at with like like getable? Uh, I got to get probably have to get four here cuz it’s par five for us. Six is one you really want to get and nine’s really one you need to get. Okay. This is This is thick. Holy smokes. They weren’t kidding when they said this was they had some serious rough. Wow. In a tournament, you’re never going to lose a ball. Pretty much not ever. I mean, there’s a couple spots when you have a lot of people like you’re at a US Open, you you definitely won’t lose a ball ever. All right. So, even though we missed the fairway, we’re in like a pretty solid spot here. Got 90 to the pin. We do not want to hit it any more than that. So, I’m I’m I’m trying to just hit this 80 and maybe we’ll get some top spin on it. Okay. But we we’ll find out. It’s always tricky because you got the ball above your feet here and this greens going like that. So, this is a uh not the easiest shot in the world. That’s going to be good. Go. That’s going to be good. Go. That’s That’ll work. Nice shot. All right. One of the coolest things to see, whether amateur or whatever, is to watch a ball land and continue to get closer to the hole. Yeah. It’s like that’s when you’re like, “Oh, this player has a level of control that I’m unfamiliar with.” You know what I mean? So, what’s the routine the night before uh Wednesday night? Gosh. I mean, in general, we get the pins at 8:00 p.m. every day. Um, so going into my book, we’re putting the pins in. Uh, I kind of mentally go through, okay, this is where we’re aiming to this one because in my yardage book, I’ll kind of have for for cornfairy tour, I have kind of like easy, medium, hard. That’s kind of how I scale them. Okay. Um, figure that out during my practice round. And so I kind of mentally in my head, I’m like, okay, for this pin, we’re trying to hit the ball there. We’re trying to hit it here for this one. Just kind of game plan a little bit. If there’s anything that’s super tricky, I might write something down. Um, and then we’re just like kind of resting and just hang out. Favorite golf movie. Uh, that’s what that is. Is it the greatest game ever played? Is that one? I like that one. Good one. That’s uh the story of Francis We met. Mhm. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. I mean, I think that’s such a cool story. And when I was playing in the open as an amber, kind of inspirational for me is like, let’s go, you know, show people that ammer just can hang out with the pros. Yeah. This is bender. It’s a bender. Sit. Sit. All right. Good for Thank you. There we go. I definitely missed this as a kid, by the way. All right. So, the line here, I mean, it looks like there’s a 20° slope on the fairway itself. Yes. So, when it’s firm, I would probably like I would hit just a draw like iron, like something out there that would work it against the slope. Since it’s soft, I’m going to hit a driver kind of over the tree on the left. Okay. Just hug it. Wow. What a cool shot. This is kind of a diabolical like from an architecture standpoint, you’ve got a hole that moves left with a fairway that moves right. Yeah, it’s it’s it’s brutal. And then a tiny green. It’s a good hole. Oh, f. That’s somewhere in the trees. Left of them. It’s not great. You would very rarely see this on tour. No, never. Never see this on tour. Nothing like this on tour. So, is it is it like fair to say that maybe like everybody watching their local MUN is actually harder? And in some ways it could be harder. It’s like it’s like this is this is so like especially older munis it’s like this is so severe but like that’s you know just how it is there. So it’s interesting how the they they they dial in the level of difficulty in a in a in a different way for you. We’re not trying to make it as hard as possible. You know we’re obviously we’re trying to it’s a product trying to sell a product and it’s fun to watch some birdies but we also want to you know separate. So you know having the hardest golf course isn’t always separating. It’s, you know, having a level of like you can still get it so that when you’re playing well, you’re you’re running away from the field. Thank you so much. Neighborhood kids running down the hill out of school for this. You got out of school. [Music] You’re you’re you’re skipping school. What the heck, bro? Had to come find you. Good. I live on Alina, too. Oh, you’re also see. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Awesome. Right on. What you guys doing out here? Uh, just filming some content. Yeah. So sick. Sweet. Mind helping this out? Thank you so much. Hey, no problem. Guys, you guys almost done with school for the year? Yeah, we got like 13 days left. 13 days left. Neil Shipley’s at our course. We got to pull up. Yeah, you got to you got to skip school. I’m I’m all in for that. You guys take care. That’s so cool, man. People love Neil Shipple. They really do. I mean, I I What is it? Like, have you I mean, maybe you don’t think about it that much, but like people are stoked. I just Yeah, I don’t think like I don’t think about it a ton. I think it’s just because I’m I’m myself and I don’t I don’t really care what other people think a whole lot. And, you know, just kept working my butt off and, you know, I think it’s it’s been great. And, you know, my honestly too, my management team’s been great at getting my name out there and in the Pittsburgh community too. It’s you know, we we root for our own a lot. So, I think it’s cool that, you know, I really do feel like we have a lot of Pittsburgh behind me, which is great. I mean, you should have been 100 out, right? Or like 120 out. Oh, here we are. Bingo. Woo! Huffing. I got Yeah. Oh, yeah. Got it. Okay. So, I got to hit. Yeah. This is This is my screw it. Got nine. It’s like 180ish front and I got nine iron. I’m just trying to get over the tree and hopefully get it close to the green. Or I could lay up and have a good wedge in. That’s That’s other thought cuz you got that front. No, I think I just got to whack it down there. There it is. Got it. All right, it’s par five shot from there. Dude, this is crazy. Were you expecting anything like this? No. No. I I wasn’t expecting it to be this thick and lush, you know? It’s actually This is going to be a grind. This is grinding at the old beauty. Yeah, this is putting some work in. This I I said this is a hole I need to take advantage of, too. So, this is good. A good start. car path. Come on. Oh frick, man. Title of this is going to be Neil Shipley sucks. This pin is nuts, dude. This is insane. We did not ask them. No. No, dude. We We didn’t call the local press. We didn’t put a post like like but they they don’t they don’t want me shooting a hundred under here. Is Pittsburgh love kind of like tough love? Absolutely. So that’s what you’re getting right now. Yeah, 100%. Like they’re like they’re like, “We love you, Neil, but we don’t want you to embarrass this golf course.” Oh, that’s whatever. Yeah. All right, we got to Man, I’m gonna have to got to grind. I love how you’re all in. I I mean, I want to play well. just I mean I I just I guess I just get nervous when I’m around. You’re not nervous. You’re not This is nothing, dude. Oh god. Okay. Huge bogey save. Huge. Unbelievable, dude. This is a hilly piece of earth to put a golf course on. Overrated, underrated, non-traditional tournament trophies. Like aka Well, I’m thinking of a jacket that’s not the green jacket. I think so. Like it can be really cool if it’s done right. If it’s done right. Yeah. Yeah. When do you find out that you’re playing with Tiger on Sunday? I found out so we did the math like on it. Um because you can count down the leaderboard and everything. If nobody plays really bad and gets between us like we’re like I’m playing with Tiger Woods tomorrow. Like that’s so sick. I was pissed because I shot 80. I was like putting mad. My buddy’s cing for me. He like comes over and he’s like, “Hey, it looks like I’m going to get paired with Tiger.” I’m like, “There’s no chance.” I do the math. I walk off. I’m like, “We’re done practicing. I’m happy. We go have dinner.” And I’m just thinking the entire night is like just I hope I pray that he’s not like hurt like if he’s going to be able to go out and play cuz you know his body is a real issue. Yeah. Um it’s awesome seeing him on the range on Sunday as as like this is actually happening. So So had you met him prior? No, I had not. So you walk up to him on the range. Walk up to him on the range like my name is Neil. Yes. Hey Tiger. I’m Neil. And he’s like hey Tiger Woods. Like nice to meet you. I’m super excited. He had like a big smile on his face. Did Tiger ask you any questions during the round? Yeah a bunch. Yeah, we talked a ton. Like what? Um like what questions t I mean that’s crazy. I mean I mean I mean we talked a lot about golf in general. Okay. Uh some like golf course designs, what courses we both like. We both traded some college stories. Um nothing too too crazy. Um and you had no game between the two of you? No, there’s no game going on. Is that what is that discouraged that Augusta or? I mean I’d assume it’s discouraged. I don’t really know. They don’t really tell you a lot of the rules out there. Some of them are unspoken. Interesting. Um, but that’s probably something that shouldn’t be done. Um, at the same time, I’m like a 20 at the time 23 amateur and like I’m just nervous enough as it is. I mean, that would have been pretty ballsy to be like, “Hey, Tiger, you going to play like 100 aside or something or like like $20 Nassau today?” I I would have won. And you know I what I should have done we looking back on it I should have been like hey Tiger like can you we’ll play for a $5 bill signed like I’ll sign my $5 bill and you can have it or if I win I get a dollar bill that’s signed by you. That would be epic. Would have been hilarious. That would be nuts. Par three. Is a par three. I got I’m shooting 93. Yeah. I mean it says 195 from back here. Yeah. Yeah. We got a white pin. All right. Blind par three. We won’t know if you make an ace until we get up there. I Ace cam. So we do we do that here. Ace cams live, dude. I have two two hole in ones. Yeah. My first one was on a par4. What? Yeah. First hole in one on a par4. Mhm. Uh and second one was 10 days later in like the same shirt. So same shirt. Same shirt. I actually have more I have more albatrosses than aces, though, which I think is pretty unique. That is wild. Yeah. I’ve made like four now. And that’s what speaks to the accuracy with the long irons on par fives. I I like to think so. You know, I think all most of them, one was a driver on the par4. Yeah. One was eight iron, one was a seven iron. I think I did one with the five iron. Oh, I hit it at the left boundary. We’re just not dialed in today. I’m just being straight up with everyone. I mean, what? You didn’t have any warm-up. Yeah. Does that Does that do you give any credence to that? I mean, definitely a little bit like you don’t get that time to get dialed in. No range here. No range. Flew from Mexico yesterday, too. So, couple things working against us, but Well, I mean, that’s helpful to share with those watching. I mean, thank you so much for making time, you know, like we really appreciate it. Yeah, it’s of course it’s good to be back home and you guys made it easy on me coming out here. So, Oh, dude. We love it, dude. All right. So, he is out here. I hit my sixiron. All right. Half a club further. Bite. Bite. Oh, well that’s not very good. Sick, dude. I just love this this whole like vibe, you know? Like just 120y old MUN. Like I feel like I’m in a Charlie Brown. So cool. Bingo. There we go. That’s huge. That’s huge. That’s so huge. We need That’s huge. I totally love that. Uh this is the number one stroke hole. 400 yds. Yeah. Uh moves significantly left to right. So it’s it’s measured 400 yds like that way and that way. But you think the line geometrically like as the crow flies, we’re going for it. Uh I I I’m going towards it. I need to get my bearings again. So we’re going direct flight to the green. Yeah. So it’s kind of like you got all these pines here kind of go in the middle of them. Okay. If I come birdie this one, we could get two more coming in a clubhouse. Yeah. All right. Cuz it’s a it’s a 260 par4. Yeah. It’s nine. Yeah. Oh yeah. It’s like we can we could make a two there if we had hit a really good shot. All right. So, we need Yeah. birdie. Yeah. Eagle. Yeah. The bogey on the par five really hurts the cause. That’s kind of like that’s a sin. You can’t be doing that. A bogey on a uh a 477 yard par five hurts the cause. I I should have I probably should have just like hit a three iron out there. Another three iron. And No, I love how you’re like locked into it. I mean, I want to play well. It’s It really does prove something overall if this is if this is like a quasi science experiment. It’s like munis are harder than you think. Yeah. And also it’s like I just you want to like us pros like we want to like we want to win like we’re playing a golf course like I want to play well. Like I don’t I want to show up and play bad. That’s no fun. Yeah. All right. Let’s try this out. See how it goes. That’s way too far left. Gosh darn it. Neil left rough. You wanted to kind of cut that. Yeah. trying to cut it. Have you seen uh the events that we host for random golf club? I’ve seen a couple of them where you get like a you know hundred people together and play one golf hole. That sounds like a shooting range but like nuts. Pretty fun. So we do it at you know Grand View. Yeah. So we do it at Grand View and so we go out to Grand View with 100 people on the Did you play that hole that goes down the cliff? Yeah. Yeah. 100 people just send it. Oh my gosh. So we played uh you know it’s a scramble on every hole. So, we birdie every hole except for like we’ll eagle like usually two to four holes. Yeah. And that’s what’s so cool about the game is like bringing 100 people together and it’s kind of what’s what’s unites us is our our common interest in golf. Totally. Not a bad angle though. We’re being honest. Yeah. Just need to find it. Oh, here. I think there it is. Perfect angle though. 64. Great angle. Just need to try and land at like 60 55. It came out a little heavy. Nice. Good effort. Yeah. All right, we need to get hot, guys. It’s like 330 adjusted front edge. Okay. It’s a good golf hole. Wow. Look at that. Ah, I just pulled it. Tell you what, Neil, if you could hit the driver better, you might have a chance. That is horrendous. You know, a lot a lot of people say golf’s a game of confidence, right? And so and so, how do you build confidence? I think that’s a that’s a great question. Um, I I personally think you can generate a lot of confidence just from the work you put into your game. So, like for me, the work I put in on the practice tee to get ready for a tournament or the work I do Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, like scouting the golf course, doing that type of work, like I know of I’ve turned over all the stones. I know I’m hitting it good. Like it’s just a matter of like going out and doing it. Um, and just trusting that practice. And I think that’s something you look at Tiger’s career when he had a major coming up. He would be practicing the shots that he needed to hit at those golf courses like months before and he’d be like, “Well, I need to hit that, you know, practice. Let’s hit that shot on 10 where I need to like hook a 3-wood and like let’s hit that like high cut, you know, shot into this hole or let’s hit like the knockdown eight iron for 12.” You know, you’d hit the shots on the range, but it’s it’s not tournament of like a lot of guys will do that the week of. He’s doing that, you know, months months ahead of time. Yeah. To get prepped. Like I think that’s like the next level that they went into. Yeah. That’s how you can have like the confidence like I’ve practiced this shot, been practicing it for months. I think that’s, you know, a way you can really generate some confidence without, you know, necessarily having like one a major yet. Yeah. All right. So, there was just a storm, so we haven’t cleaned up this these branches yet, but not technically a hazard for you right now. No, that’s actually is a movable obstruction. Oh, there you go. Yeah. So, we can we could move that if I wanted. All right. So, you got 105. Yeah. 105. Back pin. Yeah. Maybe a one step off the green there. Yeah. I mean, on the hanging on for dear life back there is the pin. This is this episode is really been interesting. It’s the narrative really is it’s like how hard can we make him? Yeah. This this is about as tough as you can make this place. I mean, if it is firmer. Yeah. But I’m just try to try to make a birdie for the for the people at home. All right, just kick straight. Oh no, just into the false front. It’s going to plug. Ah. Oh well, we can make 30 footers though and 40 footers. I’m a good putter. You got this. That’s But it’s a great mantra for anyone at home. Just if you’re putting like crap, just be thinking, “I’m a good putter. I’m a good putter. I’m a great putter. I’m a great putter, actually.” Excuse me. Yeah, I’m a great putter. I’m a great putter. Go right just a little. Oh. Oh, that was in. Is that is that friendship circle? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We’re good. All right. All right. So, we got two holes left. Yep. We need a birdie each hole. Yeah, we do. Yeah, we need we need it bad. Um and we got a diabolical pin here that looks like it’s off the green. And this is I I always thought this was the hardest hole when I was a kid. I stopped hitting driver here cuz I hit it like into the right trees cuz it’s crowned. You everything’s crowned and when it firm when it’s firm, you miss the fairway left. It is like going into the left trees. So, this is but softer today. We got a we got a good chance. Okay. I might actually hit a fairway today. Let’s do it. Just cut a hair cut. That should be good. Yeah. Nice. Nice. Let’s go, guys. What were your thoughts on uh Sunday in Augusta this year? Oh, it was awesome. So, I mean, honestly, too, I remember when I was growing up watching Rory just, you know, having that brutal Sunday uh in 11, I think, right? 2011. Yeah. When when he when he drops to his knees, like I just know like that that pure emotion. That’s obviously, you know, the 14 years of waiting on it. Yeah. But also just the just all the hard work that he’s put in for he’s 34 probably since he’s been like, you know, 8 years old. He’s been grinding and grinding and grinding. Super happy for him and his family and it’s amazing. Yeah. See, this is again too where things change a bit. I’m like I would hit a 60° 100% on a tour vent here, but I know if we hit a 60 I could like back it up. So, I’m going to take a 54 to try and take something off it. Just up a little. Oo, that looks good. That looks very nice. I wish I had a level so I could like figure out how much slope this is on. There’s been a couple of them. Yeah. I mean, this is like every pin has been two steps from the edge of the green. Oh, bingo. Finally a birdie. Hell yeah. I look back at a lot of what’s happened and one um having a dream week at the US Amter at Cherry Hills. I mean, I’m making it to the finals. None of this has happens if I don’t have that, right? And then, you know, a lot of what’s come has become because I play with Tiger Woods as in a feature group, right? You know, I think a lot of people forget I was finished in like 53rd place at August. Like, not great. Yeah. Um, and then you know that then being able to play the US Open and you know be on TV a lot there, play well, be low am you know that’s there’s all these things that have gone right and I’ve taken advantage of so many of these opportunities. Um, and I think that’s what’s been, you know, made it such a special run so far. Oh, you mean uh first guy since Victor to do low am in both. Yeah. Very cool. Yeah. So, it’s like me, Victor, and then before Victor, I want to say like maybe Phil and Cooer are the other two. And then you have like Jack Nicholas and uh Ken Ventura and a couple couple other like pretty good names. Got to hit the 3-wood. I mean, it’s it’s it’s probably not going to get there, but oh well. Nah, just floated a bit too much. That was a ball flight, dude. Thanks. Yeah, it’s a little short. Good spot. Maybe depending on the pin. That’s a great swing. Felt good. Some nice sound to it. Yeah, there we go. Got one. That’s out past me. I love I mean, I hit a driver, but you know, I love the sound of this driver. Oh, that’s great. That driver, it’s so straight. Yeah. Oo, this is kind of a spike. I don’t know why I’m shooting it. It’s 20 yards. I don’t know why I’m shooting this. That’s something we just started doing on coin fair. You can shoot pins now. Lasers for the last couple events. Yeah, it’s been so weird. I think it should break left from what I remember. It’s got to get there. That was tracking. Ah. Oh, good catch. There you go. Birdie birdie finish, dude. Playing with you, man. Thanks. Yeah, thanks for having me, guys. It was fun, man. It’s great to be back out here. It’s a fun place. A lot of memories here. This is cool. Appreciate you guys uh dragging me out here. I want to create a place where like ultimately I think that golf and youth in golf is really important. Um, and that’s where I developed so many friendships and uh have still some of my closest friends. I mean, the guy that caddy for me at the Masters, Carter Pering, I’ve been playing golf with him since he was like 10 and I was 13 and you know, we got our way all the way to the Masters. I think that’s so cool. Golf has given me so much in that way from friends, connections, you know, it’s given me a lot of experiences that I never thought I’, you know, I wouldn’t get otherwise, too. You know, maybe 3 4 years ago, I didn’t think was possible. Um, and uh, to accomplish all this has just been uh, phenomenal. And uh, you know, just the stuff of dreams really as an amateur to do everything I’ve done. I think I’ve checked all the boxes now. I want other people to be able to chase their dreams and have a place to start, a launching pad for that. And having good youth golf programs, a good course where, you know, kids can come out and play for cheap. It’s great. I mean, that’s I mean, that’s what the game’s all about. I love it, dude. Thanks, Neil. That was fun, man. Pleasure, guys. I appreciate it. Thank you. Email Neil at no.

Are we gonna see anymore breaking series that are regular joes and not influencers?
Let's go love to see Shipley, well done getting him on exicted to watch!
This is awesome – absolutely love to see it! Love yalls style
I want to try LMNT but you have to buy the product to get the sample pack? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the free sample pack. I want to see if I like it and what flavor I may like, which is why you would offer the sample pack. But… you're making me commit a least $20 plus shipping to which flavor blindly before I get to sample.
shipley seems like such a chill dude. hope he has a long and successful career
Nice vid. That was some nasty rough. I might have lost a few balls if I played it
13:39 a LOT of older and smaller courses were designed on “how can we fit X holes into this old farm property that we have?”-style architecture. Which doesn’t always make for the fairest designs, lol!
Feel so validated watching this 😂. I'm always ranting to mates to not be so hard on ourselves round the local course! Fair play to Neil for being a good sport. Lot to love about how he carries himself. Thanks for the vid!
When you have a local muni that wasn't built on packed sand like say PGA West or Cypress it makes it harder
Such a cool down to earth dude. Great vid
Blue got in. #BBN 14:22
Want to hear about some more offbeat golf trophies out there great question. Wonder if there are any as wild as those in cycling.
He should open his own Youtube channel, down to earth kind of guy.
Great guest.
