In the photos, Trump, 79, wore a red “Make America Great Again” hat that he paired with a white collared shirt that had his name emblazoned across the breast. He was accompanied by two of his grandchildren, Kai Trump and Spencer Trump. Kai, 18, is the eldest daughter of Donald Trump, Jr. and the eldest grandchild of Trump Sr. Spencer, 12, is Trump Jr.’s youngest son.

While the president appeared to be heading out for a day of golf and quality time with his grandkids, several people online questioned whether the photos were recent, speculated about his health, or joked that he looked like a character from Weekend at Bernie’s.

White House Confirmed Trump’s CVI Diagnosis in July

In July, the White House announced that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency. The condition is a circulation problem that happens when the valves in the veins don’t work properly, causing blood to pool in the legs and leading to swelling, aching, or changes in skin color.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed more information in a press conference on July 17, saying that the president “underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular studies. Bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”

Social Media Speculates on His Health and Appearance

As Trump is the oldest president ever to be sworn into office, speculation about his health has circulated widely on social media since the diagnosis was announced. Over the weekend, a claim that Trump had died began trending on X, despite there being no truth to it. He was photographed golfing on both Saturday, August 30, and Sunday, August 31.
