It was a big shock that I found out I was going to be the vice captain. I didn’t expect it at all. Really delighted to announce Alex Norin as our final vice captain, a Ryder Cup player himself uh 2018 in France. You know, he just couldn’t have been more happy, more honored to take the role. He’s loved the Ryder Cup, loves what it represents and has a good respect amongst the players as well. [Music] likes the shade, Alex. This should fit him. This should fit nicely for him. Oh, it certainly does. It certainly does. What a shot from Nor. He broke the news. I was on the flight back to Sweden to see my family and he was like, “Well, I didn’t actually call because of of your game. I just wanted to see if you wanted to be vice captain.” I was very, very happy to hear those words. [Applause] Nice job, Alex. With all my vice captains, I want them to challenge me. If they see something that I’m not doing right, I want them to step in. You need people who have had experience. It’s only 2018 that he played his last Ryder Cup. So, he’s been there who knows what it’s all about. Such an impressive scorecard. I was really happy I got to play on home turf. I think on the 14th fairway I found out that we actually won the cup. Oh, look at this. Look at this. The only thing to do, finish it off as quickly as possible. Alex, the pressure was a little bit off, but I just wanted to beat the shambo and that last pot. I’ll never forget that. chance. Oh, well, there’s your way to finish the RDER Cup. Hey, there you go. What a moment for Alex Nor. Look at this. Can you believe it? I love Alex’s demeanor, his work ethic. He’s a workhorse. He prepares as well as anyone when it comes to his golf. He’s a humble guy. It’s never about Alex. It’s always about the team. I just think he has great characteristics uh that will be vital for his role as a vice captain. I think if I can just bring a good attitude to the team room, uh bring some knowledge. I’ve been in this game a long time. It’s going to be one of the toughest ones to win because of where it is. It’s a huge plus now when all of us on the team have played a lot in America. Uh so we’re used to the fans, we’re used to the courses, the course setup, we have to give it our all in a little extra to to get the job done. Really excited to have everything in place now. The the last pieces of the puzzle, the team is set, the VCs are set, we’re ready to go. To watch another RDER Cup video, click here and subscribe here.
