Today is episode number five of the ninehole break power tea box challenge. Today I’m at Hollywood Lakes and I have on Susan Thompson, also known as Swing and Tonic on Instagram. Thanks for having me. I’m so excited. A little bit nervous, I won’t lie. Uh but you’re going to look after me, aren’t you? Yeah. And we’re going to try be a good team, right? Let’s go. So Ellen, how’s this going to work? So we’re going to be starting off the back T, then we’re going to go to the middle T, and then the front T. Okay, we will try I will try my best to keep up with you. I’m looking forward to this. Thanks to Hollywood Lakes for having us out today. Hall one now. Dog leg right to left. Susan’s going to hit driver off the tea here and hopefully get us in play. That’ be a good start. Going to try. I am going to try. We have a bit of wind here as well. So, um let’s just give it our best go. What are you going to hit? I’m going to hit a little hybrid. Okay. A little hybrid. He’ll probably go past my drive, but let’s give it a go. All right, let’s go. Okay, let’s go. Straight into the wind. Let’s hope for the best. Get down. Okay, nice shot. A little bit right, but that was a good shot. Nice. Okay, you’re up next. Hopefully I can place this in the middle of the fairway. That would be a nice start. Nice start. Yeah, perfect. Well done. Thank you. So, Suzanne, who’s your favorite golfer? Good question. So, ladies or men? Both. Uh, I have to say I love Shane Larry. Um, I think when I was up at the open following him, I I was I was really rooting for him. Um, with the ladies, like there’s so many. I like I I love watching the ladies golf. Um but I’d say like after watching Annabelle win last year in Carton House, I just love her journey. And then this year to see she’s becoming a mom and uh she’s going to be still like having a career as a mom. She’s pregnant at the moment, you know, Annabel Dimick. So I don’t know. I really like her. I love Leona Magguire, of course. And uh but yeah, I don’t know. Oh, I just when she announced becoming a mom. Um, and I think sometimes as well social media, if you see a pro golfer becoming a mom, they think their careers are over, which they’re not. You can still be a pro golfer and be a mom. Like the men can still be dads. So, yeah, I do. I like Shane Larry and I will say obviously Leona Magcguire and Annabelle Dimmick. That’s very cool. Good picks. Who’s yours? Um, in the men’s. In the men’s. Right in the shambo. Easy. Okay. Yeah. Favorite golfer. Why do you love him so much? He’s just different. He comes into the game different. He looks at different stuff. He eats healthy food. He hits the ball a mile. Yeah. My balls over here. And in the girls, who the ladies? Uh Pia Babnik. Oh, that’s the girl that you met. Yeah. Was it Halpines that you met her? Yeah. Brilliant. So, that’s interesting. Nice shot. Well, Suzanne hit a lovely shot down there with our driver. We’re going to be taking my balls just up here. And um we should only have like a mid iron into the grin. 116 yards to the pin. Excellent. No, it’s right. Come back. No. Okay, let’s give it a go. I’m I’m just guessing here now. So, your ball is safe, isn’t it? Yeah. That’s just a little chip. Oh, it’s too bright. It’s okay. It cost the tree. But your luck. It’s all right. It was better to give it a go whilst you were up. Okay. So, pick this up. Yep. All right. We’re going to be taking my one here. A little chip up and down. Be good here for a part on the forest halt. Go. Lovely. That’s so slow. Very slow. Okay. Nice shot. Thank you. So I contributed Very nice shot. Okay. Oh, nice start. Well done. Nice. Okay. Brilliant. Well done. Lovely put. Brilliant. Well done. Even through one. On to hole number two now. Off the middle T. Okay, hole number two now. Driver in hand. I’m going to be hitting a nice little draw up the right here and let it come in. Super perfect. Middle of the fairway. Oh, what a shot. Okay, great straight. Still never going to meet me meet anywhere near you but your luck. Middle of the fairway. We’ll have a bit of fun. Suzanne hit a lovely shot down here. Middle of the fairway. She’s going to pick her ball up and we’re going to be playing mine. Oh, I think we’ll be playing your ball for the day, but your luck. Great drive. Thank you. Let’s see what we have in. It is also today, guys. Very windy out. So, the balls will be getting tuck and um we’re going to have to club up and club down. Okay. 145 y. I’m going to go in nine iron. A 9 iron. It’s a bit downwind as well. Oh, super shot over. Oh, and lucky bounced there off. Okay, so I’m using a fivewood. Okay. Oh, to right in the bunker. It’s all right. But yours will be fine. Yeah, there you go. Thank you. Will I blame the wind? Can I blame the wind? down here. Be good. And what are you using? Uh 60. Again, the greens are slow, so I can give it a little bit more harder. I’m going to be aiming out to the flag shadow. Lovely. Thank you. Lovely. Thanks. So, I wish I could do that. Get in. Unlucky. Oh, wow. Oh, good. Going to be aiming straight at this with some nice pace and walk for it. I love the confidence. Super. Well done. Okay. Even too onto the frontiers now. Okay. My favorite 311 yds for even power. And now we’re on the fronties. I’m going to hit a driver. Nice draw the right here. Monster of a drive. See? So tell me what what would you um probably the hill on the left at the bunker. Yeah, that wasn’t very good. My ball unfortunately went out B, but we have Suzan’s ball here and we should have only an iron in for our second shot. Unfortunately, it’s not the best drive from me. It’s not too bad. Hit a nice shot. I’ll just go ahead down, Willie. Okay. I’m a Jita. I’m lucky. 190 yards to the to pin. Oh, super super super. Thank you. Well done. H We’re going to pick up my ball, butcher. That’s okay. It’s all right. The best teammate in the world. He got us up there on the green. Mine just triggered off the back. We have a nice little chip up to this pin up and down here for power. Be nice. Sit down. Too much. I waloped that. Nice shot. Gosh. They’re very slow. I hit that hard as well. Oh, not enough. And I pulled it straight away. Well done. No, it’s all right. We can get it back. We will. Par three. Now it’s 142 y to the pin and 122 to the edge of the green. So I’m going to hit a nice pitching wedge at the pin. Be good. Super spin. Oh, excellent shot. Come back. Come back. Come back. It was so close again. Almost another hole in one. I was like, is it going to go in? Well done. Thank you. It’s like a foot away. Oh, you need to zoom in. Can you zoom in? Oh, yeah. Go. Go. Go. Get up. Get up. Get up. Get up. Get up. Nice shot. Okay. Well, it went up thanks to your advice for the numbers, but still not as good as yours. Absolutely super. Well done. Well done. Let’s see how far it is. Hopefully, it’s a tap in barely. That’d be great. Super shock. Thank you. You nearly had me in tears on the tea box to witness a nearly a hole in one. Let me see. No. Oh, that’s not fair. What? That was a hole in one. Absolutely super. So guys, it landed here, came back down with the slope and just ran past. Oh, give us a hug. Super, super. I’ll tap it in though for the bird. As you can see, if you look back to the tea box, it’s all uphill. And um yeah, tap in birdie. So this is what we do. We just even through four. Nice birdie there. Brilliant. Last hole there. Almost got a hole in one. So close again. Par five now. 450 yards off the middle. Tears. Let’s try and make a birdie. Let’s do it. Whoa. Yeah, it was brilliant. Thank you. He sent it up so high. Oh, great shot. Okay. Nice. Very nice. Okay. I should have saved me energy. Don’t be shocked. So, that was my drive. I’m picking up again, but uh I’m happy with the drive. If I was playing my own game, I’d be delighted because of a good look into the green. Five hybrid in hand here. Going over the right edge of the bunker here. And we should have a little chip up and get down and it should be good. Oh yeah, a little chip over. Well done. Good shot. Thank you. So, five wood aiming for the bunker. Nowhere near the bunker. Anyway, I topped it. Sorry. Yeah, I’m going to pick this up. Yeah, maybe it is. Okay, perfect. A hard look the wind. Roll on. Roll on. Roll on. Roll on. Okay. I’ll take that. Yeah. Nice shot. Okay. Sean, just the wind took it too far cuz it’s all down wind, but it’s all good. But Susan got us in nice and close and we got a nice look at birdie. Oh. Oh, hard look. Okay. Yeah, it’s all right. That was just unlucky lipping. On number six now. Nice par tree up this hill. 55 to the pin. Come on. Good. Yeah. Nice shot. Good shot. Thank you. Well done. We can’t see the hole. Okay. So, I’m using a fivewood. Um it’s uphill as well as the wind behind us. So, let’s Oh, terrible. It’s all right. We’re on the grin. All good. Um, it was a long par three. I should have maybe hit three-wood, but I didn’t connect with a great but anyway. Should have been at eight iron, but it’s all good. We have a port up the hill here, so we can be aggressive with this. Do you want me to go first? Yeah. Go two cups to the left here. Be good. Two cups to the left. I will try my best. All right. Sit. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Oh, nice. It was close. It was close. Very nice. Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. Oh, hard. Look. Okay. Good effort. Thanks. Nice. Okay. Brilliant. Park. So, we’re still even. Okay. pretty well. Okay, we’re not doing too bad. A windy day. Okay, that yours. Yeah. Oh, no. That’s yours. That’s mine for confusing. Tease. Every time after scramble, you end up with like pockets full of markers and cheese and you got home with some extra goodies. Reese, was he the best score? No. Uh Keith was the best score. The last round. The last one. Yeah. What was it? Minus four. Well, we won’t be beating him, will we? No. Doesn’t look like it. Wow. Never say never. Yeah, good ball. Very nice. Oh, yeah. Great shot. Thank you. Susan’s in play on the fairway, so I’m going to hit as hard as I can and get it up there. Wow. Super grip it and rip it. Going to draw over the trees. And my ball just landed here and it’s in a divot now. So, we get to take it out. Yeah. Go up. Go up. Go up. Go on. That’s probably close. Shots in there. Susan ran up the green and mine landed on that hill and ran around the bank. So, two lovely shots in there. Two great shots. And check out the view here from Hollywood Lakes all over Dublin. We can see the Sugarloaf Mountain on the left. You can see Dublin airport. Stunning course, isn’t it, Alen? Oh, yeah. It’s a lovely course. Gorgeous course. It’s all downhill. So, what do you think, Alen? A little bit on the left. Yeah, a little. Okay, I will try. Woo! Too fast. Too fast. Too fast. Stop. Stop. A good chance. So close. Such a nice putt. Such a good p. Yeah. Hard luck. Oh, genie macaroni. I’m lucky. Well done. Well done. Number eight. Now we’re even par. Played that hole on the last stair. Well, dog leg right to left here. So, oh, super. Yep. Sure. Oh my. Lost it, did I? No. Stop. Stop. Not bad. Nice shot. Nice strike. Thank you. Not as good as you, mister. And where did you play first? Uh, my first ever course I played. Yeah. Dear park, was it? Such a hilly one as well, isn’t it? I I used to love teen off on the first hole down the big hill. Oh, yeah. And some views from up there. Actually, it’s the views up here are something similar. True. Yeah. So, when’s your next tournament abroad? Um, the Nick Faldo tournament in Wales. Oh, best of luck. When is that? Um, October. We’ll be rooting for you and we’ll be following your scores. Yeah. Best of luck. Thank you. I’m very happy. And uh let’s see what the yardage is in 88 yards to the pin. Yeah. Yeah. Wind just takes a right. See, the wind’s just taking it. Oh, that’s it. Too big. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. The wind’s just taking it. Right. Okay. Well, look, we have yours way too far over the green with the pitching wedge. Uh, the wind took it and Yeah. Anyway, Elton’s is perfect on the side of the green here. So, we’ll use that. 60 in hand here. I’m gonna try chip this in here. I’ve been reading the line. So, let’s see if I can get it in. Get in. Oh, good effort. Thanks. Go, go, go, go in. No. Nice putt. Thank you. Very nice. Good par. Okay. Good par. Heading down to last par five. Okay. And we’re still even. Yeah. No pressure. What do you think we’re going to do? One or two, I’d say. Okay. Let’s go. Let’s go. Go number nine. Now we’re even par power par five off the front. I got threewood in hand here. Come on. Fabulous. Oh yeah. Over the bumper and now kick back down to the left. I won’t do any better. No, that’s good. What a shot. Thank you with three with your three wood. Yeah. A that’s had to end. Great shot. I’m happy with that drive. Well done. Still would never make it near your threewood. Nice shot. Thank you. Thank you. One unbelievable shot by Susan right down the middle of the fairway. Unfortunately, we’re not going to be taking her shot. We’re going to take mine because it’s a bit further. So, let’s see what we can do on the last. Let’s do this. Hit a three-wood off the tea there. I hit about 250 260. Have a nine iron in hand. 154 yards to the pin. Let’s see what we can do. Oh, it’s all over it. So good. Come on. Spin. I can’t see. Can you see? Good shot. Good shot. Okay. I’m having a clear what to hit. A little bit left of the tree. Yeah. F. Yes. Is it good or what? Is it good or what? Go. Is it good? Sit down. Oh no. Sit. Stay. Very nice shot. Okay. Well done. We both hit lovely shots in there. Susan’s landed there and kicked up. Mine landed on the edge and kicked up as well. So we have an eagle luck. Go to two under power. So let’s see if we can do it. Go on. Go on. Go on. This is too good. How good is it? Let’s go. I’ll give you a hug. Give you a hug. I delight eagle on the last. Come on. I didn’t do much for you. Did it all. Well done. Well done. Super. We done it. Super. Super super. Super super. You’re a pleasure to play with. Super kid. Y. Thank you. And a super golfer. Thanks for having me. So, we shot two under. Oh, brilliant. And the near hole in one. So close. So close. So close. It’s coming. Next round you’ll get your hole in one. We were juda. Yeah. It was coming. You enjoyed being filmed. Oh, it was brilliant.
