Should Team Europe be favourites to win the 2025 Ryder Cup? Well, golf broadcaster Wayne ‘Radar’ Riley believes that Luke Donald’s side are in a strong place to retain the cup this month.

While Team USA remain the 8/11 favourites in William Hill’s golf betting odds for Ryder Cup glory, many will fancy the Europeans to defend the cup – with the likes of Shane Lowry, Jon Rahm and Viktor Hovland in the line-up.

It’s not a huge shock to see the Americans as favourites to lift the trophy on home soil. Team Europe are bidding to lift the Ryder Cup on American turf for the first time since 2012, though a draw would be enough for the tourists as the current holders.

Punters can bet on the outright winner of the 2025 Ryder Cup at William Hill. Here is the current state of the market, at the time of writing:

USA – 8/11 Europe – 11/8 Tie – 12/1

All eyes will be on Bethpage Black on 26th September as the 2025 Ryder Cup gets underway and European golf fans will be hoping for a fast start to the weekend.

Golf broadcaster, Wayne ‘Radar’ Riley, told William Hill: “Europe should be the favourites going into this Ryder Cup; there’s no doubt about it. There’s no reason to be fearful of this United States team led by Keegan Bradley.

“There’s so many strong characters in Team Europe, like Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Shane Lowry. Matt Fitzpatrick was the final pick and there were no surprises there. He’s a U.S. Open Champion; you can’t leave him out.”

With a total of 28 points up for grabs, it’s a marathon not a sprint. If ‘Radar’ is right and Europe arrive full of confidence, we could see the tourists clinch a fifth Ryder Cup success in the last eight editions of the event.
