Charlie Woods, the son of the legendary Tiger Woods, on Sunday again made a hole-in-one at the Junior Players Championship – his second such feat in the last nine months.

In the final round, the 16-year-old on the No. 3 par-3 of the TPC Sawgrass course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, sent the ball into the hole on his opening shot, drawing cheers from the spectators.

Charlie celebrated modestly, shaking his playing partner’s hand and retrieving his ball from the hole only after repairing a few ball marks on the green.

In the end he finished 31st in the overall standings at the Junior Players Championship with a +7, 16 strokes behind the winner Miles Russell; Russell became the tournament’s first two-time winner.

Another achievement in a nine-month span

His precise shot on Sunday was the second in the last nine months: he had previously done so at the PNC Championship in December last year.

In a pairing with his father, Tiger Woods, in a two-day, 36-hole event where 20 major champions and their families competed in a scramble format, the younger Woods for the first time in his career recorded a hole-in-one on the par-3 fourth hole.

Then the 15-year-old participant, as he walked away from that hole, initially didn’t realize that the ball had dropped into the hole for an eagle.

To the applause of the crowd, Tiger Woods smiled and hugged his son, and the family celebration was warm and friendly.

«This was one of the brightest moments we have ever experienced. Earlier on the previous hole he made his first eagle. And now he has made his first hole-in-one. It was a magical stretch over two holes. I am simply incredibly happy for him and for the joy we experienced as a family.»

Charlie Woods is now enjoying a successful 2025 season: he tied for ninth at the Junior PGA Championship this month, though such a result hardly allowed automatic qualification to the U.S. team for the upcoming Junior Ryder Cup. He was not chosen as a captain’s pick.
