Golfers of all skill levels are invited to hit the course Sunday, September 7, for the annual Broken Bow Elks Golf Tournament at the Broken Bow Golf Club. The four-person scramble begins with registration at 8:30 AM and a 9:30 AM shotgun start. Entry is $60 per person, which includes a meal.
Josh Page with the Broken Bow Elks Lodge said the event is about more than just golf.
“It’s about having fun and also supporting our wonderful Elks organization here in Broken Bow and giving back to the community. The proceeds that we raise off of this tournament are used for our scholarships and for our veterans programs that we sponsor in Custer County,” said Page.
The scramble format, Page explained, makes the day welcoming for golfers of all abilities.

“All four people hit from the tee box, you select the best shot, and from that spot you all hit again until the ball is in the hole. It’s not a competitive tournament. It’s more laid back. Yeah, there’s going to be some people that take it pretty serious, but for the most part it’s a very relaxed tournament. This is the third year we’ve had it, and in the past we’ve even added fun twists like teeing off with oven mitts or paying to move your ball closer on a par five,” Page explained.
Prizes include cash payouts and flag prizes on every hole, and carts are available for rent. Page said he hopes to see a good turnout.
“I would be ecstatic if we had 18 teams, but realistically we’re shooting for 12 or 13. I’d love to see a golf course full of people and to be able to give back to the kids and the veterans of Custer County,” Page said.
