Happens every year and it’s a pretty amazing experience. They will rope off the greens and close the course pretty soon. Yes, there is always one person that thinks they are tame and gets a little too close.
Mt Si GC in North Bend, WA built an elk fence around the entire property to keep them out.

Wow most people don’t know how big these animals are. My first encounter was in Colorado when a 6×6 ran across the front of our f250 . I was awe struck at the size . I didn’t know that they would graze in the open so comfortably. I guess they have adapted to their environment like our whitetail deer and Turkeys. Nice pic. Do they damage the course much? Geese are our only problem.
