But he caused enough problems against Fritz. Wow. And if he returns like that, he’s in for a good day. And another. What a point. What a start he’s made. [Applause] Well, not the first time. 403 exploded through a ground stroke such as that. Three. [Applause] [Applause] Fabulous com combination. It’s a good return. Neutralize the serve. Good stuff under pressure to save the first break point of the match. [Applause] Oh, what a point. got him in a an incredible final in Paris. Saving match points along the way. Ser got his revenge at Wimbledon. In fact, two for two when he’s hit those under spins on points one. [Applause] chasing back at full speed. [Applause] These two, by the way, in playing in front of an enormous crowd inside Armstrong. Oh, what a strike. Yeah, that’s well done. Watched it nicely and just took enough pace off the volley for it to be effective. Fitting enough. That’s a good looking volley here. You see how close to the net he get touch in this game. It’s an exceptional point. Good discipline that time. [Applause] 403. the team. The first set ends with a wild backhand. Another is absolutely furious with himself. Tosses his racket towards his bench. Fritz steals the opener. Seven games to five. And then last moment a couple of missed ones up the line and cost him that game. It’s a cruel sport, isn’t it? Alio hitting the reset button there. That was a nice hold. Another [Applause] chance to break friends. And there is the break of serve. That was please. Bit of a ragged service game in truth later today. And Danell Meadev playing Bonsi, Benjamin Bonsi, which is not an easy start for me. Bonsie beat him at Wimbledon this year. [Applause] two courts with the roofs, South Stadium and and this Armstrong Stadium. Then It’s a good point. It It means regardless of the weather, you can he asks to play on this rather than Ash had so many great results on it last year. First set point saved. Just a few too many misses in that second set. More comfortable set for the number four seed Taylor who is now just a set away from the second round. He’s in good shape. Oh, got lucky there. The neck cord dropping in. Another one. Another good point for the number four seed, last year’s finalist, Taylor Fritz, who he’s got the quality, no doubt. Feels like a lot of potential. [Applause] Well, there you go. That is pure quality and more evidence of what this young man is capable of. Brilliant. Love this. Playing the likes of Taylor, the Taylor Fritzes of the world. That might sting a little. What? an hour and 33 of that. It’s just that’s very nice. Turning into a really good game. It’s just a couple of minutes here or there, isn’t it? The phase at the end of the first set service game. Such good hands. That was a beautiful shot. Well, that was some game from both. [Applause] as good as Nava serves. Some of these shots come off his racket just absolutely very effective against a lot of players who aren’t as consistent and and can take the pace as much as Fritz. to wrap this up. And that will do it. Interesting response. I think Fritz will be pleased to come through that test. Very difficult first set. Easier passage for the fourth seed in sets two and three. last year’s runner up. He’s on his way into round two today. 52 and three against his fellow American

  1. Can you start putting both players on the thumbnail? This is the only tennis many of us can watch during the day and you spoil every highlight.

  2. Yes, everyone gets 3 mins highlights but Fritz gets 12 😂
Well I have a bad news for you, Fritz is not winning this tournament

  3. Wow, what powerful ground strokes! He lost in straight sets. Powerful ground strokes mean nothing when you can’t return serve, have too many unforced errors, and can’t hold serve.

  4. Crazy how many winners Nava had but couldn't come up with a break in the first set. He has lots of promise, but can't touch these top players in consistency
