Before Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump headed back to school this semester, she needed one crucial school supply: a new backpack! You might expect the 18-year-old to buy something expensive or exclusive, but she shockingly went a different route. Kai surprisingly went shopping at Walmart for her ultra-sparkly new backpack, and your teens are all going to want to hop on this trend!
The golfer and high school senior shared a vlog on YouTube Saturday of back-to-school shopping. “Normally for senior year, [kids] normally wear, like, a Hello Kitty backpack, stuff like that,” she explains in the video. So to find the perfect throwback backpack, Kai heads to Walmart to shop in the kids’ section.

The first bag that catches her eye is a purple unicorn backpack with shimmery sparkles and a built-in Pop-It, which includes a matching pencil bag and a lunch bag. “This is perfect!” she says.

The daughter of Donald Trump, Jr. and Vanessa Trump browses other options, including a Disney princess backpack that says, “Make someone smile today,” a Bluey backpack, Hello Kitty, Moana, Spider-Man, Stitch, and more. “So many great choices,” Kai comments before ultimately settling on the first unicorn one, which is “calling [her] name.” “I’m going to get this one,” she decides.
After meeting her friends for a swim party, Kai heads home to pack up her backpack and lunchbox to get ready for school.

One person noticed an interesting trend: “I found it amusing to see that Kai shopped for a little girl backpack in Walmart while my 7 year old daughter went to Marshall’s to pick out a Backpack from the designer hand bags department because she wanted to look like a sophisticated teen 😂. Little girls always want to grow up and then when they grow up they want to hold on to the innocence and good times of being a little girl ❤”
