Granville, Ohio — The University of Lynchburg women’s golf team embarked on its fall 2025 campaign this weekend with the Lynn Schweizer Invitational, hosted by Denison University at the Denison Golf Club, and finished sixth of 13 teams in the field.

The Hornets compiled a team total of 643 strokes across the two-round tournament. Randolph-Macon claimed first place with 599 total strokes (+18). Denison and DePauw rounded out the top three with totals of 625 (+45) and 631 (+51), respectively. DePauw’s Becky Williams took first place individually at three under and was the sole performer to finish below par.

Lily Rowe shined for Lynchburg, tying for fifth overall individually of the 72-person field with a score of +8. Rowe averaged 76.5 across both rounds, shooting a 76 on day one and a 77 on day two.

The next top finisher for the Hornets was Grace Saunders with an average score of 79.5, good enough to notch a spot within the top-20, ultimately tying for 18th place. Taylor park was close behind and finished tied for 24th with an average score of 81. Gabbie Hollberg tied for 38th overall with an average score of 85 while her sister, Lily Hollberg, finished with an 88.5 average score and was knotted at 52nd.

Lynchburg will have a brief break in the fall schedule before returning to the course for competition in late September. The Hornets’ next outing will be the Williams Invitational in Williamstown, Mass. from Saturday, Sept. 27 through Sunday, Sept. 28.
