Donald Trump has resurfaced on social media after bizarre claims that he had died spread online.

The US President, 79, posted a photo on Truth Social showing him playing golf with former NFL coach Jon Gruden, writing: “Great playing golf with Jon Gruden — a really nice guy, and true character!”

It marked Trump’s first public appearance since rumours of his death swept X and Facebook. Conspiracy theorists had pointed to his lack of weekend events and absence from the spotlight for three days as supposed “evidence” something was wrong.

While Trump did not directly address the speculation, he was later seen golfing with his granddaughter Kai on the White House lawn, reports the Mirror.

Earlier, journalist Barak Ravid reported a US official had confirmed Trump was fine and would be playing golf on Saturday morning.

The false claims gained traction after photos showed what looked like a bruise on Trump’s hand, but aides said it was nothing unusual and stressed that presidents often have quiet weekends without scheduled events.

Speculation intensified when Vice President JD Vance was asked in an interview whether he would be ready to step in if a “terrible tragedy” struck.

Vance praised Trump’s health and work ethic, adding: “Yes, terrible tragedies happen. But I feel very confident the president is in good shape and will serve out the remainder of his term.”
