OPP say a 20-year-old was charged with impaired driving offences after 2 a.m. crash at Pigeon Lake trailer park
A man driving a golf cart in a trailer park crashed into a shed and is now facing impaired driving charges, say police.
Officers from the City of Kawartha OPP were called in the wee hours of Sunday morning to investigate a collision at the Pigeon Lake Trailer Park on Tracey’s Hill Road.
The collision took place just before 2 a.m. when a golf cart “collided into a shed,” notes a media release from the OPP.
“A golf cart is a conveyance and carries the same impaired driving charges under the Criminal Code as other conveyances such as motor vehicles (cars, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles), vessels (boats, canoes), aircraft, which are just some examples,” the release notes.
As a result of the investigation, Justin Ramdihal, 20, of Georgina, was charged with:
Operation while impaired — alcohol and drug
Operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration over 80
Ramdihal is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date.
His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and the golf cart was impounded for seven days.
