Today is the Today ladies and gentlemen, it is the final round of the 14th KG Ladies Open. Welcome to Sunday at Sunning Point Country Club where we have played 36 holes and 37 through 54 are on deck. And if last year was any indication, three rounds and 54 holes might not be enough. It took a three-hole playoff for Pako Gyam to fall to pay So Hyan who was able to well put on a pretty good showing in the first round. Yesterday was unfortunately a different story for the defending champion, a Rocky ride into the finish. She missed the cut. So what that means is we’ll have a brand new champion and we could have a first time champion as well. Here’s our leader. It’s Shindain. looking for her share of a 1 billion1 prize purse. 180 million will go to the victor. Shindane shot a bogey-free six birdie round yesterday. National team member in 2016, the reserve team in 2017. She made her debut on the regular tour last season. Never has she finished in a top 10. In fact, a tie for 14th is her career best. Certainly an opportunity to top that in style. So her advantage is slim. By no means a guarantee. One of the players chasing down with a vengeance is he say he her nine under score through 15 holes today puts her three strokes back. And that five under effort for the day thus far is tied with Chiming Guyong for the best out of any of the 66 players that made the cut. So an important putt to save a par starting the back nine the point course where we will play on the way in. She said look I had no expectations today. She said that yesterday, but luckily my shots went in well. I thought it would be difficult today because I only made one putt and a birdie opportunity in the first three or four holes, but a long putt of about 15 m broke the momentum that had been frustrating. She with her first glance at our leader, the sophomore is going to bogey and see her lead shrink. Well, who are the players trying to catch up to the top? There are two of them currently tied for second. One of them is I Jinang on the 11th hole. Her second shot 137 meters out. She is playing a sixiron. pin today. Well, it’s directly in line with that bunker on the right side. Officially 21 yds from the front of the green. She is four under Jin Young through the round thus far. Bogey free with pickups at 267 and eight. Kareem on the same hole has elected to go with a seven iron being just a bit closer. Even that might have been too much. Club might eight have been a little more well suited. The answer is yes. But the context to that is if it was mis hits that bunker might have been able to claim the ball. Finally, Yukian Joe at 10 under. The other player tied with Ian Jun. It will be a nine iron for her at 128 m away. She looks disappointed with it. She is the closest to the pin, but unfortunately for this group, that’s not saying much. Well, coach, she won. She won her first regular tour title for the Ju Sundasu Masters. Shot four under par yesterday. However, she’s plus one after 10 and finds herself tied for eighth. Four back after Shing Dain’s bogey. Her drive finds the fairway. This is Eugina on hole number 12, the par three. Another deeper pin, closer to the back than the front and very close to the right fringe. She gets a fortunate bounce and that uphill slope towards the back will actually bring her close to level. Okay. Next up, Joim. So, it’s time for third place. Seven under 137 with Yuan Joe to start the day. And finally, Shin Dain, whose advantage is down to one. She said the media to the media, pardon me, yesterday, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t ambitious about winning, but I’ve often heard people say winning is a gift from heaven. She go on to add, I believe that if I quietly aim for underpar, good results will come, and I’ll approach tomorrow with the mindset of just hitting three. The second bogey for her today. Both of the par fours. The other coming at number four. She did find birdies at five and seven. So she is even with eight to go. any young pro who’s in this position largely for the first time certainly in the final group on Sunday. They won’t know how they’ll handle the pressure until it’s right there in front of them. Now you say he she is electing to putt from the fringe. Long way back down the hill, drifting left to finish his pinheim. She’ll have a tap in par. First the putt at 11. Xin Young. How’s this for an efforts? Very good. Sana number 12 arrives at this hole three under. She’s plus two today. Even par was the score to make the cut. It would be surprising to most to look who is at the very bottom of the leaderboard here on Sunday. And that’s EA1 who squeaked into the final round with a score of one under par after 36, but she’s plus five today and plus four for the event. Next putt coming on down. Straighten out ball. Awfully close to an improbable birdie. She’ll have to settle for a par. And that’s been the story of the day thus far. 11 holes, 11 pars. She’s tied for 16th. Nice putts. Eugina backto-back birdies now. She’s closing in on the podium places now at 8 under. No, I can play there. The last of the birdie beds at 11 will belong to Yuan Joe. Great pace. Slightly off to the right. to 16. He dung in a bogey here in the first round. Apar yesterday based on that track records, she’s going to have to birdie today. Steady improvements and a great start with a solid T- All right, back to 11 now. Joy, it’s becoming something of a predictable pattern. You can even tell just by our aerial vantage that there’s a little bit of a valley in and around the pin placement today. So, the bravest players who do take on that bunker fearlessly can certainly be rewarded. Just make out that yellow flag on the horizon. It’s Shindain. Wedges have been cooking this week. That’s the wrong side of the green though. You say he nine under starting 16 154 meters this par three down the hill and we’ll get a very friendly roll. This could be magic. Well done indeed. Good job. continues their walk up to the green. We can sneak ahead to 12 Hanbe 172 m this R3 and the irony of an opposite pin placement. Yesterday we saw it in the back left corner. Today it’s back right through 11 holes. That’s one. Starts 125 under. She’ll play five iron. This is tracking pretty well. Just paste. There is the slightest tailwind to help push that ball along past the water. Young between clubs take some iron off the screen cuz it looks like she’s having a change of hearts. She’s gesturing left. Exactly. That means she wanted it to get left. Somewhere behind the tree and around the bridge is that ball. We’ll have a look and see particularly thrilled with what she sees despite us not knowing where she’s gone. Are you young? One of three fantastic T- shots. The first to try to make it a birdie. Snares a piece of the outside edge, but it was too quick and off the line. This is two pod territory for Shind her first. It’s not as close as she’d like to be. Can’t count that as a guaranteed par just yet. So with the birdie to go to plus one. She was due two double bogeies today. two bogeies and two birdies. She was the only amateur player to make the cut, so she’s already guaranteed to finish as the top amer. She wouldn’t mind picking up a couple more of those birdies to get back to even before the day is done. You say he already a success today, must be said. She’s up 16 positions from where she had started the day in 20th. And with one swing of this putter and hopefully one swing, she’ll be on the podium steps. Tied for second now with just two holes to play. And look at that scorecard. She took her bogey at the first, put it in the rear view mirror, and has picked up 70 birdies since. He’s on a fantastic pace. And her 600 score is the new daily best. This is a hopeful birdie bids. It will not have the legs to get all the way to the hole, however. Na at number 12. Similar result to the previous putt we had seen. Well, what’s obvious, but we’ll say it anyways, is Shindai cannot afford to make it backto back bogeies. A pari has to have to try to fend off the chasing fields. It’s about a meter and a half. keeps the flag stick in. She deposits that ball exactly where it needed to be, stabilizing things. And now it’s seven to go. Turning to 12, Chuni for Birdie. Speed is good and so is the line. Her first of the round comes at just the right time. So, it’s the same score at which she started the day, but now she is tied for 15th position. a putt from the border of the fringe was about finesse as much as anything else. Little more than a few centimeters. It’s a two putt par. Now I’m beat now stays at nine under with her par on the par three and that will ease a bit of the bottleneck that we have waiting here at 12. wasting no time getting underway. Ginyang is prepared already. Okay. Tie some decision is six eye burning. That’s the shallowest of all the two shots we’ve seen here in the center of the green. She’ll punt towards the back right corner. Hope you Joe is next. The seven iron She is wide out of the green, but really that’s not a bad spot to be. The friend, she can putt, she can chip, and when all is said and done, that might be the best look at a birdie from the group. One final T-shot in the group. Center left at the back. Birdies will be hard to come by here at 12. That’s been the story of the day. been the story of her day in particular as she’s been consistent with 11 pars on the bounce. Well, Shin Dang’s lead could not be more narrow. It’s just one stroke of everyone on page one. She is the only to not be under par. Either through 16, I four under through 11 and Yuian Joe three under through 11 are tied for second. Hanbid Na rounds out the top five. in this championship Sunday at Sunning Point. We’ll take a quick break and be back with more on the other side right here on the KPGA Tour. And welcome back. We pick things up with Yu Han Joe, who we said might be pretty happy with the location from which she just took that chip. What she certainly will not be happy about is the fact that she is now further from the pin than when she had started just a few moments ago. Didn’t quite have the touch. Next up was have to fully discern who just took that shot, but they came close to birdieing. Close doesn’t do much for the scoreboard, though. We know that. Next bit of 12 is just and only just going to come up short. cars all around and no guarantee for Yuyun Joe. Also no guarantee for Ehei here that her flawless run since hole number one will continue. She didn’t get the loft to get out of the sand. carums off the overhanging grass and kicks over into the rough. And that is going to be tricky recovery. Guinea cutting this quick up the hill at 12. Good try. Now from the fringe beside the sands. Nice judgment of the speed. See Dongun who’s struggled today. She’s plus two through 15. Down to a time for 43rd position. Now Yuan Joe tied for ninth in her par saves this week at nearly 96% uphill towards the corner. She’s going to let this one slip through her fingers. Relinquishing a stroke on Shindai and Dim Jinong. Bogey drops her down to nine under. This is what we were worried about with that bunker shot heading to the rough. needed to play that perfectly and unfortunately that won’t qualify. She will be putting a complicated one at that. Here’s Hunbe Na nine under nine iron and 93 m out on 13. She was mostly blinded with that boulder marking the turn of the dog leg left and she’s played it past the entirety of the green and settles on the fringe. And next up on 12 where we spent a whole lot of time. see a similar result to what has been going on the past little while. Now he’s say this she needs for bogey. Nicely done to minimize the damage. Second bogey of the round on the 17th hole. She’s tied for third position at nine under. And now Shindai six iron for her. She’s gone right somewhere behind the fountain. She’s off the green as part here in each of the first two rounds. However, her bread and butter section that’s 15 through 18. There she is. Four birdies from eight tries over that span. Could be important. How things are really tightening up. Some really nice touch from a good spot near the end of the fairway. Kimsuji uses the backspin with that wedge to bring the ball to an abrupt halt. She always finds a way to save her best round for Sunday. Kim Suji up into the top 10 already up 19 positions. currently tied for eighth and a chance to even go towards six along with the second shot. The third brings her within 5T or so. Kim Sun 7 lifts this up from the rough. It’s quick. Hungman G up to four birdies now today with four holes to play. That means she is tied for sixth now. I’ll never rule her out until the final hole is played. would be win number 20 if she can catch some lightning in the bottle. Oh, now then a full 260 270 pardon me degrees around the hole and that will fall for a birdie. And from off the green at 12, a close tall. That is what will be left for Shindai’s Park. Yuo Ju at plus two. This is her final hole of the day and a chance to move to plus one. Downhill putt breaking right straightening out. Not going to be now Kimsu G. Yes, a triumphantly raised fist to finish with a 67. Besting her Friday, Saturday rounds by three and four strokes, respectively. Delicately struck putts. It’s going to need a second. And Joy, this is for nine under go at will number three today on the first step of the podium. And depending on what happens with Shindí in a moment, that could be a crucial putt. and breaking away right top targets. 71 for Kimian Sun 7. It’s much better than yesterday with the 74, but certainly where she was after 18 holes. She would have had higher aspirations this three round tournament. Shindane. Nice par save. She’s doing this the hard way, but with every hole she gets closer to her ultimate dream. Bea save a par. This is outside of the comfort range. And that is exactly what we’re referring to there. Close enough to feel like you’re in with a shot, but far enough away to be tricky. She drops her first stroke at 13 and is at eight under Jun. That’s a birdie. nine under to narrow our spotlight or maybe widen our spotlight to keep a close eye on an increasingly large number of players. I believe that brings us to four players two back and two players two back. lances that off the fringe. It fades over and is almost an eagle. Reached deep into her bag of tricks for that one. That’s one of our top shots of our opening hour. Say he from the border of the rough playing her next on the par five. She returns to the middle of the fairway. Gin Young. The first we’ve seen where a shot needs to be manipulated right to left around the rock and to the green. She nearly reaches There is you can Joe. She makes it two of three. It’s not quite as scintillating as the first approach, but it’s still a very, very good one. and Mata Som. This is her 54th and final hole of the tournament playing at number nine and nearly draining it from the fairway. Well, her patience rewarded. The easiest birdie she’ll have all month long. And now a putt from the fringe with plenty of feeds. She made let’s see if being able to reach for the big stick can help her put a little separation between herself and the chasing pack. So third of five par fours on the run. struck firm but offline. line. It stayed straight. If anything, it moved a little left to right. And another shot, another approach that is on 18. Just about the perfect spot to land on the green. Since we haven’t seen it yet today, it is worth highlighting that in each of the first two rounds, 18 was playing as a 560 meter par five. Today, it’s still a par five, but the difference is that it has been shortened down to 470 m, inviting some big birdies at the end of the round. And Jiny Young finishes off. Let’s go back. We were hoping to see a par for Kimoi. She has narrowly missed and will finish the tournament with an even par score tied for 55th. 73 7073 this week. Shindane. A great drive leaving her with this approach at 13. A reminder just how close to the front of the green the pin is here. Six yardds on right in the narrows. That’s serviceable. Well, I have a feeling in a moment we’ll see something pretty spectacular. This counts as a very good shot, but the hooping and hollering from the other side of the course will mean that we’re about to witness something pretty pretty special. Is it the end of the fairway? Yeah, there’s our answer. It’s merely an eagle. That would have been a vault to the leads and she’s denied that by just a few centimeters. She will return to a position just one back. And with Shindai in her group watching, she’ll notice that feel that pressure I should add. In the meantime, Yuan Joe teing off at 14. 470 m, identical distance to the last. She went for a little extra power and I think she realizes she’s not struck it as well as she could have. Yas four under is where she will finish this tournament and a 69 is her best round of the week. 70 73 69 tied for 27th at the end of 54 holes. So Shindí 11 under parinong 10 under one back with a four under in progress. We just saw Joim set up a shot that will also take her to 10 under. And Shindí just on the fringe. She’s going to have her hands full on the run and we’ll be down to the final five holes when we return to Sunning Point Country Club. A thrilling Sunday thus far. Hope you’ll stay with us. We have more to come at the 14th KG Ladies Open. Well, we knew Boom. It was inevitable, but it’s always good to make it official. Joy Ree with backto back birdies now and is just one stroke back of the lead. Hour two begins. It is just after 2 p.m. local time in Yong and the action on Championship Sunday is heating up. Well, the pressure is piling up on Shin. Her putt from the fringe for a birdie. She should be okay from there for par. If she misses, we are suddenly thrust into a three-player tie for the top spot. And so the backside of 18 that putt remaining for her birdie Oh, Shind. Look, she’ll feel like it’s been too long since she’s had a birdie. It was hole number seven. But as long as those behind her are catching up, pars will suffice. She’s down to the last five. Here’s Eay Heat on 18. It was really her last chance at the win. A firm believer that just because you don’t win a golf event doesn’t mean you don’t really win. You’re competing against yourself. If yourself is the best, that’s a bonus. When you consider how the day has gone for context of the week, 6971 on Case 67, that’s a win. comes a pretty good payday as well. Four was shouted and down the hill rolling into the sand goes that approach. Come on buddy. This is the second shot frame. Ginyong. She is lining this thing up to try and reach in two. Only 205 m. It is though significantly uphill. 11.6 m. It’ll have to climb. She rolled the dice and went for it. She disappears from view behind the trees left. look of frustration and you don’t have to look very far to understand why. couple of SBI teammates pretty that would have been to to conclude the round with the birdie. She’ll have to that would have been for to avoid a bogey but it will be back to back for her. Tough one this. Lots of left to right break even though it was only about the 25 cm putts. That is four pars and four bogeies to finish with a 72 in the final round. Four under the low amter of the week. It is plus three after 54 holes, two doubles, four bogeies, and two birdies in this final round. Yeah. And the last to finish out on 18 is Ehei with a par. Brilliant 32 on the way out. She comes in with a 35. That’s 67 in the final round. She’ll exit the course tied for fourth position. Now Pungman G with only three holes to play. Her T-shot at 167 iron and that is perfectly on the money. We do some very very quick math. If Pungmani birdies that she goes to a tie for second position and we’ll still have two holes to play. Could win number 20 still in fact be possible? A little twirl of the driver that often bodess well. Got some confidence back. Serene and picturesque. It’s tight, which means good things on Sunday. Any single one of the players except for maybe Eay has a chance to win this tournament. Worth noting that this could very well be a career best for Eay Heat. depending on how the rest of the chips fall. Shinden’s away on the 14th. There’s five holds to play for the final group and lots of noise around her. We’ll continue to follow the runin when we return to Sunning Point. I’m dead. All right. Well, one of this generation’s best, Punji. Not that she was an afterthought. She’s hardly ever an afterthought. But suddenly, she is at the forefront of our minds as she chases down an historic victory number 20. and she’s done so with some marvelous play here on Sunday. She still has two holes to go and she is within one of the leads. Next at 15, Hanbidna the par4 approach shot takes a big skip and roll to the fringe and stay there. Joe finds herself in the sands. Sand taken with her. She rolls through the fringe. What an up. I didn’t know All right, advancing along the par five nicely. Sure, she’ll be brimming with confidence after what she did with her last Approach the narrowest of Ms. is and she’ll mark that one off. Won’t rush it. Where is the Joe can join Pungmani and The growing pack nipping at the heels of Shindí with this putt for birdie on 14. And she’s got it. That’s a lovely sound to accompany a lovely putt. Eugene Knoff picks up the fourth birdie. Two to go, nine under. the words of appreciation for a nice wedge shot. She hands it off for the putter. Jun hopes that a win right on this and a heck of a lot of luck. Oh, come the shouts. Simple tap in from there. Hungman G. Now, has she gone into killer closed down mode as we’ve seen so many times in her illustrious career? Tell you what, if she makes this putt, the answer has to be a resounding yes. And unban now her birdie putts from just on the fringe. That’s excellence. What a shot from off the green. G with an eagle. Hardly believe it. It’s a 68 today. Based on that reaction with her, I imagine he convinced her to take the wedge out instead of the putter. And he was right. A joyful finale for Jung Yun Gi. less dramatic than an eagle, but certainly just as important to avoid a bogey. Shindí on 14. She rolled the dice. Her third shot will come from the sand. lasted at 15. The par4 huge hits down the right side of the fairway. Very cool. Another Hungman G. This is for her share of the leads. She knew right away it was going to dip beneath the hole. Believes there was just one hole. Shin gets up from the sand to the fringe. Terrible place to be. And 60. over hit the green and stops just beneath the camera stand. Camera tower Well, she stood up knowing that the break was not in her favor. Jarim will have to settle for a par. Back to 18. Time to conclude the round. Choan. up to 600 after 54 holes. J Bun the next to conclude is what has been conclusion to a fantastic day. Six birdies, 10 unders. She finishes currently the second best scoreer trailing only Shindí. It’s been too long if you ask her since she has put a little padding on this advantage. The putt from the fringe for birdie and it’s not quite there. All pars plus one bogey at 10 since her last birdie of the seventh. She is holding the lead but only just. There are a lot of players hot on her heels. Hanbidna moving on the line. Another hole out. That is two in the last five minutes. And for Hanbidna, she is at 10 under with two to play. This could be a rather large playoff, ladies and gentlemen, if things keep trending in this direction. This approach will reach and only just helped by the tailwind. Dart towards the pin That will bring out the smile. She knows she’s on with a really good chance at a birdie. All right. So Mman’s group has arrived at the 18th T. Gina will shortly follow. But will she do so after a birdie? Looks like she will give her four birdies on the back nine so far. Frantically refreshing the leaderboard. We’ll give it get an exact answer as to how many players are just want back. I can’t remember anything quite like this in the four years that I’ve been calling the KPGA tour. Now, not everyone will get to 11 and Shinden will still feel in control in the final group. She just needs a birdie. Give herself a little wiggle room because at the moment she has six players waiting for any kind of slip. Well, meme thinks that while this surge of athletes at 10 under par is making it exciting, if I had to wager, I would propose that 12, if not 13 under will be needed to win this tournament. And for some of the seven players now at the score, they don’t have the number of holes on their side to reach that mark. The balance of power still rests with the final group. It is in their hands with one extra hole to avoid a playoff, but someone’s got to go out and take it. That had been the opportunity for him’s birdie. She will par and head off to the par three. Beg your pardon. Getting a little ahead of ourselves. Par four. A shot from our leader has landed in the fairway. Gallery offering words of encouragement. I’m sure it’s appreciated, but in all likelihood slightly tuned out because of the sheer amount of focus required right now. Well, this 15th green is where Shin Naen’s group is headed. It’s where we find Yuian Joe, who could be the second player to 111 under. It’s a chance to birdie. and tie for the lead. An uphill putt that has too much speed. She loops around and shoots out the left side. Well, the next and final par4 17. It’s where we find Hanbid Na who’s gone to the back. And we’ll have a decent look at a birdie. Imong 60. A reminder. pin is almost in the center of the width. Maybe slightly more to the left, 12 yards from the back. She in fact does go all the way to the back just inside of the fringe, forcing her to putt. The gallery pleading for the ball to sit, dig in. Just that. Next up will be Shaina. Nine iron 130 for our leader. It’s not where she needed it to sit. Not a bad approach by any stretch, but he needs something great in these final few holes. Jung mean we see her for the first time today and she plays a really nice on at 18. It skips left once it arrives on the green. Now Kungman G has to Birdie to have any chance. The little push from the wind. She gets to the down sides of the green. And that might just be a little bit too much to ask even for someone of her superstar caliber. Well, that tied for second swell has grown ever more. We’re up to seven players at 10 under. Shin Dain on the green at 15, but a good ways off. and Moon Jung mean likely to birdie and move up to nine under as well. A Sunday at Sunning Point. Our final round coverage continues after a short break. and welcome back. Backto back birdies and three in the last four means Hidna is now a co-leader and we knew it was a matter of time but now it’s official. Shind must respond. Another chance at a birdie, albeit not one that she’ll feel like she’s missed. The opportunity was missed. She’s down to three holes and now has some company. And that company will only continue, pardon me, to increase. This is Yu Hian Joe. She’s putt well. Putt really well at times this week. Don’t count her out despite the distance. You know, this is coming back over. Two homes to go and after that fifth birdie, now a three-way tie in the top at 1100. This is fun. That’s her last chance. Win number 20. What this did was remind us. She’s always on the precipice. Six birdies and a bogey in the final round of 6871 and 67. Her best of the week comes on Sunday. Putting from the fringe, moving online. It just needed a little more speed. This one’s going to go steady improvement day after day after day. 70 6968 top 10 for now at 9 under par. And how lucky have we got today with the weather. We were expecting some pretty nasty conditions for this final round. Now, the rain is still there on the radar in these overcast skies, and what a huge injection of drama that would be. should they decide to open. Yuyun Joe now a co-leader. The second best score on average on the par fours this week, 3.793 Three. And here on the par 360 First of the T-shotss or test of the T-shotss I should say the bar that was previously set a few players who are on for career best finish this day will be one of Jarim in 2024 had a tie for fourth finish at the Nex and Saint N Masters was a two-time winner on the Dream Tour, but she’s pushing to snatch that maiden victory from Shindai. Now, as mentioned earlier, this is the stretch of the course where Shindí has been at her the peak of her powers. has birdied this par three in back-to-back days, but that might be emblematic of the situation she currently finds herself in. Just not close enough. She’s there or thereabouts, but on Sunday that’s often leading to something just a bit. All right, the stakes haven’t changed, but with every hole of which there are just three remaining pressure mounts. simpler, shorter, perceptively more attainable. Putts haven’t gone in. So maybe Shind just needs this a little further out to change the narrative. Fortunately not. She hasn’t been passed yet, but she’s been caught. Good on at 17 over the sand into the corner. Eugene’s third to the approach at 18. Similar to mean’s sid spinit set up a very makeable birdie. Right to left tracking and down into the cup. Leverie at 16. And now a third. Scratch that. Fourth player from Lebanon Joe co-leader. a chance to move into the driver’s seats. He can knock down that putt. Certainly ratcheting up with the intrigue. Really just two holes remaining. Eugene now on 18 also 411 under. There we go. In the clubhouse as a co-leader. What a back nine. This was at 11, 12, 16, 17, and 18. Add another at four. Joan birdie yesterday at 17. Start with a big swing. A good swing. Exactly the frontfooted’s desirable beginning to the second to last hole. At least in a regulation 54. The way we’re trending, we’re going to need at least 55. Shane now has four players sharing the lead with her. Might have even just skipped into the rough. We won’t rule her out just yet, but what we can say definitively is she wouldn’t be the first player in this position to enter a Sunday with a chance to do something she has yet to do in her career. And ultimately come up short. You almost need a psychology degree to fully grasp what Sundays mean in this sport. Let’s go to 17. Suzim Ginyong, I would hazard a guess that we’re looking at around Six, maybe even seven meters. We’ll start uphill and then come down. Lots of break. Takes her away. This is Hanbidna. Couldn’t have dreamed of a better spot to be at the edge of the fairway in the wedge takeover. She was the first to reach 11 under with Shinding. She could be the first to see 12 under. Now you and Joe downhill right to left breaking putts for the leads. Awfully close but no cigar. We’re getting up Jin Young after a chance to share the lead. This becomes a crucial putt to keep a sliver of hope alive. All right, she gets herself a 10 under. Kim Young that was inside of the green. It’s a pretty good chip. now just avoids the bunker but is in the hillside. That would have been a sweet shot had she cleared it. She then avoids the rough. She’s in the transitional strip between the fairway and that section. She’s not able to keep it on the green. There she goes. Now takes the lead with three birdies in a row. And four in the last five holes. The first to 12 under. And now all she can do is watch and stay warm. She might not be done. Good. Good. Gin Young Birdie here yesterday. She is now officially in needing an eagle territory. We just needed the first player to hit 12 under. A simple tap in birdie finish for Kim Nayong. It was going smooth through the first three holes. A double bogey at 13 really took any last chances of a win away. Chances of a win. That’s what we want to talk about right now. Shinden, who has had been leading up until about 15 minutes ago, now finds herself on the bottom of the four players tied for second. She is even through 16. The talk of the town right now, Hanbeat Na, who reaches the clubhouse with 12 under par, starting to whittle the fields and the challengers down. You won’t want to miss a minute. These final few holes said setting point. Ladies and gentlemen, it is all coming down. These final two holes. 12 under is the new score to beat. with a little lift from the inside. Rough just before the green Here’s Jin Young has settled the transition from fairway to rough 237. It is her second shot. She’s going for it all. will just not be able to pop up onto the green as the rough swallows up most of the speed it was carrying. That was so close to the magical moment she’s been waiting for. Go to 18 now as the chaser. Knock me out. player trying to reach in too. Clearing the rough and ending up just about pin high. What a shot. So that means a chip or putt in from the fringe would be eagle would be 13 under and could be the winner. It’s a mustake situation for Joy Lem. Save a car at 17 down the hill. Moving right, moving offline. That is her unofficial bow out of contention as a bogey is coming mobbed by family and friends. has to hustle over to the practice screen. Has to stay loose as the odds of a playoff are larger than we might have thought when the day began. And this is coming off the back back of three cuts in a row. She has never won. Of course, this is her first full season KPGA tour. Her best top flight tour finish, T29. In fact, she’s number one period, including the dream tour. Her best ever finish was T3. She’s guaranteed to be at least the runner up. Career best. is guaranteed all that’s still Who are you? Well, she can bottle up and channel all of the frustrations from the round and put them into this hole and still be in with the shot. She just needs birdie. off into the fairway. Joy Re is next. Eagle is what she needs. she doesn’t want to do is risk too much for the very very slim odds of a big result. Generally expect to be safe on the guard path. Unfortunately for that supporter, that’s not the case. I’m sure he’ll be okay. up on 18. Excellent control with the wedge. Fortunate reality for Jinong is it’s a bit too late. She could be on to share the podium. Very, very close to her first career win as well. She’s already been a runner up this season. Was back in April at the Sheen EPC championship. Yeah. You can jail. Could she possibly a putt for Eagle to take the lead get right? Well, it’ll be a second player confirmed to 12 under barring the unthinkable. How much? Oh, over there. Shut up. Shang going over the notes. She’s evidently full of aspirations to reach in two. Young Joe to force a playoff birdie. Second player and 12 underpars. Six birdies, one bogey on the day. Young for 11 underpar. It’s the first birdie since hole number eight. It was a different feeling, wasn’t it, back then when she went out with a 32. Birdies, they just dried up on the way in. All right. So, picking this cleanly off the card path dribble it through the rough, but it’s always going to be a tough pass from the Ashalt. That will get through. Rival is just on the fringe from Chin. It would be the wildest outcome if she holds out from there. the wildest after watching her lead slip away. To win it in such dramatic fashion would be the stuff of legends. This is coach one all the way down at seven under at plus one for the round. The only player in the top 40 to be over par today. Two comes close but is just short. So technically no one’s on the green in two. Everyone should feel confident about a chance for a birdie just as we feel confident that we’re heading to a playoff hole or two. Hello. Thank you. It’s hard to practice. She knows the exact placement of the pin. try to emulate it based on where she plans on attacking the green last year for context and we’ll have the time to do lots of the storytelling but it was a three-hole playoff for Pesohan on the first two made it three for three to win it all There we go. forward to filming that. That’s All right, the first approach onto the green from the rough, it’s Joim. Her bogey at 17 really took her out of the fight. She would have needed to hold out. Keeping an eye on what’s going on at 18. Mentally and physically preparing for a playoff. Now Coochi one gave it a really good go. Skips out the back. Well, if nothing else she’ll be able to say, she fought her way back to an even par finish. It would be tied for 12th with Kim Suji. Uhoh. has putter in hand. In fact, she’s trying to identify the break point. Remind her that if she finds a way to sink this, she still wins. nothing else. Just get it to tap in range to get in the playoff. But what a magical moment it would be if this might go shind just to the inside. The gallery was ready to erupt. She thought for a moment, didn’t she? You could see the eyes go wide almost in disbelief. Charlem for birdie. Yes, 35 out, 33 in is 68 today. Comes up just short. I don’t know what’s and coach one parade under. Oh, she’s pushed us. It’s a bar in the 73 in the final rounds. Back to backes with 68. Finishes tied for 13th position. Shindai to force herself into the playoff. Can’t miss She goes to say she needed that birdie is an understatement. 71 under just enough her hat in the ring. So scorecards will be signed and have been signed. Shind will take care of her paperwork and then be jetted up to the 18th team where we’ll do this hole all over again. Generally, it’s three holes before a new cup is cut. If I was in charge, which we all know I’m not, probably for very good reason, I would move blocks pack and say, “Okay, you got to go from 560.” Because 470, as it was designed, is meant to be a hole full of birdies. One eagle here on a team today. We saw it earlier. everyone in the top six birding this 18th. So, it might be more than just one playoff. It could be playoffs just as it was last year. But 54 holes are complete and we’re still not sure where our champion will be. We’re gearing up for a playoff again at the KG Ladies Open. I guess it What’s going on? Show them. What you want? Okay. I’m not sure your name. Say what you did. So here we go again. The 18th T. Just waiting for Shindai to arrive. a meeting with the the tournaments commissioner. So, everyone is 100% sure on the rules. What’s pretty remarkable is we are guaranteed to have at least two players, reach a career best finish. Guyan Joe had her main victory last year at the KB Financial Group Star Championship. She’s finished as a runner up twice this season and tied for third an additional two times. on Vietnam. Previous career best of the Dream Tour in 2024, tied for third. Her best results on the senior tour here T29. The pin is the same, the rules are the same, the stakes, they’re the same. We will go until two players are eliminated. It could happen in one hole, it could happen in seven. Looking for it. Somewhere there on the horizon, that’s the last thing you want to hear out your caddy’s mouth is. I’ll tell you what, everyone gets out of the way and this ball could roll. This ball could certainly roll. I can hardly believe what we’re seeing. It’s back on the card path. What in the world? This might end up being like a 300 meter drive. It’s finally back into the fairway. And look how close she is. I cannot remember ever seeing anything quite like that. So here it is again. You hear four shouted. And thank goodness, I guess it depends on your perspective that these patrons and these officials got out of the way. Start the stopwatch. This thing is on the card path for about 15 seconds. Oh no, it’s done. Uh-uh. Back it comes. I mean, you have to you have to think the eagle is guaranteed. It’s up and down for eagle from about 12. That is absolutely remarkable for a player that felt like she could not catch a break for the past two hours. And just to add a little bit more intrigue, here comes the rain. My oh my, oh my. If you’re Yukon Joe or Hanba, you just have to laugh. That’s Wow. That’s um the most unexpected thing that could have happened. And almost as if mother nature said, “Look, I’m going to give you until 54 holes and that’s it. I’m not waiting any longer.” And technically, she would have honored it. Okay. Well, the rain’s not going to do much in the way of favors, but the wind will. 245 to go for Hunbe now under the torrential rain just plays the hybrids. I’m trying to remember the closest comparison I could give you. I think it might be a bomi and her inaugural title, her first title all the way back in 2021. I remember calling that tournament and on the 54th hole trying to fend off the chasing pack. I feel as though she played a a drive left, took the car path as well. Let me see if I can pull up the exact yardage on it. Could be conflating this, but that’s that’s what immediately sprung to my mind. Again, Joe from the rough and now a very wet rough. Just missed the fairway. Well, we promise you drama on Sundays and we do our best not to disappoint. This certainly counts as drama. So if Shining doesn’t win this and we need a second or third playoff, we are suddenly risking a a delay. So the tournament will take its natural course, I suppose. All you can do is laugh. It’s I truly don’t remember anything quite like this. So, we’ll get the official yardage. Remember, it’s 470. So that was a 402 meter drive. Unbelievable. 68 with the wedge. If she’s close, she’s all but wanted it. That’s for an albatross. Tupil eagle. So she is guaranteed. I don’t want to get too carried away. She’s not guaranteed an eagle. He should have an eagle from that distance. And what now this also does in the evolving mental gymnastics that golf is is going to force HB and Yu Hyan Joe to push and if they make a mistake then a birdie suddenly might be enough to win it all. Just an absolutely incredible turn of events. The worst of the system that has brought the rain seems to be moving to either side of us. towards and Suan on either side. And for further context, after two strokes, Jurgen goes 57 m up compared to 68 after one. wasn’t able to get that to bite. So that was three. That will be her putt for birdie. I think for Yuki and Joe losing in this fashion would be easier to take than it would be for HB. She’s at 52 m. What she can do is stick this inside of 23 and reapply some of the pressure on these soft greens. She’s done it now. She still has to bury that putt. And I don’t think it’s unfair to say in the slightest that based on everything we’ve seen over the last three hours, the putter has given Shindane some fits. Consider just how this first playoff hole has gone so far. Maybe it’s just You good? Rain, lightning, if not coming to a complete stop. Yuenjo is still away, so she’ll play her birdie putt before Shindai plays her eagle putt. If she misses, I think she’s the first to unofficially bow out. Long uphill putts moving online. What a clutch shot. First playoff like none I can remember. and she deserves every bit of that moment of triumph and relief against all the odds. There’s a reason why at such a young age she has launched herself into the top 50 players in the world. 49th is where she currently sits in the Rolex rankings. hand beaten up. Unfortunately, unable to convert She’s the first to bow out. Shind back to that quote. She told the media about no expectations yesterday heading into the final round, saying, “I’d be lying if I wasn’t ambitious about winning.” But I’ve often heard people say, “Winning is a gift from heaven.” Well, the heavens opened and we saw one of the strangest first shots on a playoff that I can recall. And now after a good setup shot from 68 meters, Shindí has this putt to win the tournament. Looking for an eagle. She’s missed it. Every time you think you can counter out, she’s found a way to hang in there. And you just have to wonder if she’s going to get an opportunity like that again. Hanba taps in for her par and will finish third in the tournament. Hey, that’s still an 80 million one payday, but she had higher aspirations today. Certainly on the run when she started to really turn up the wick. Career best finish for her. And then there were two I suppose it depends on if you’re a glass half full or a glass half empty type of person. On one hand, it’s Shindai squandering a golden opportunity. on the other. It’s a incredibly triumphant putt from Muan Joe to force the issue. Wait for both of these competitors to return to the AT&T all over again. Now player in the playoffs was a wild first playoff hole. Oh, let’s go. Hey, right here. So here we go again. Order being established. Euian Joe her tournament 696867 started the day tying it for third position she was a 66. The same score that Hanbe Nash shot today. Yanjo will go first. Words of encouragement from Caddy. She didn’t look thrilled with it. I don’t quite understand, if I’m being honest, why she was hoping to clear that mound perhaps. Was a good drive. And now Shindai, I mean, you could argue she would want to do it again, the old cart p cart path trick, but uh that’s a one ina million shot. So, how about just in the fairway? There we go. Down the right side. Much more conventional in regulation this time. Yeah. This is now the fifth time that we’ve played 18 this week. Head placements changing every single day. It’ll stay the same up to three before we’d have to re-evaluate. This was the cup three that Chin was not able to capitalize on. Reality is the putter has just not been the club to count on for her today. 232 Shindai second. Uh-oh. Bit too long into the rough. Open the door for Yuanjo to say, “Okay, I don’t need to go for it.” Play this shot to the end of the fairway. Wedge, putt, win the tournaments. It sounds really easy in theory, doesn’t it? It’s 205 officially. Four is being shouted. Oh, that was on the card path. So, I suppose what I would have done, but the layup was not the decision. It was a brave shot to try to reach into and return the favor. But alas, both of our players are in the rough. refresher on The second shots she then out drove this time by Yu Hun Joe. 205 downhill winded her back. All right. Hand me my five iron. Let’s see what we can do. Joe is also very near a drain. Looks like it won’t cause her any issues. She’ll quickly march onto the green to pick out a landing break point. Shind will quickly sc over to do the same. What do I do? Good. So here we go then from 41 meters Shind will lead us off. about a half swing. Catches the fringe and that will be a little bit longer than her putt for eagle the first playoff. Where can Yu and Joe place hers? set up for you. Hono, it’s quick. Is it too quick? And do we need a third playoff? We won’t bet against her putter after what she displayed last time. Frustrated and Joe and we can understand why. Shind is away. She’ll putt first. for birdie. There it goes. The long awaited triumphant putts that has eluded Shinji for most of the last few hours. She was closer in the first playoff hole with a much simpler break. Shining down with a gift after all. Testing her patience, her resilience, but she’s not there yet. That’s quite simple. Yuan Joe must make this putt to send us to a third playoff hole. She’s missed the 14 kg Ladies Open in the most dramatic of fashions. who for large portions of this final round must have thought, how have I let this slip? But the mental forces to go from hill to hill 17 without a birdie and then to deliver on 18 to keep herself in with the shot and go to a playoff and then backto back birdies in the playoffs. She is a champion on the KPGA tour. cuz our best previous results were in May and last month finished 14th at the Chris FNC KPJ championship in May and the High Resorts Women’s Open last month. But today, this final day of August, another new champion has been crowned. So much mental fortitude. What a wonderful feeling this must be. Always special to see someone’s first. Blue water. Well, when she arrived at the course today, she would have thought to herself, okay, I know what it’s going to take. That would have been a white lie. Not an intentional one, but you just don’t know what it’s going to take. Everyone’s journey, everyone’s path to their first victory, if it ever comes, it’s always unique. But she did it. Massive, massive congratulations. In very short order, we will hear from our champion post round interview. I’m sure the roller coaster will set in as it so often does. And then in a little bit of a change of plans, we’re going to go to the practice screen for the awards presentation because they’ve had to set up and up until just two or three minutes ago, we needed 18. So, here comes Shindai. She will speak with the SPS golf crew momentarily and then we’ll get into your final round highlights on the other side. I’m spechch. Oh, Yeah. There Fore! Foreign! Foreign! there. Oh, YouTube. No. What a special moment for Shin. She was tested. Was she ever today? As you should be for your first win. It’s not meant to be easy. Let’s take a look back at the day that was for our champion. We will see a day that for about four hours was full of frustrations. parse, parse, parse, parse. And she said, look, that’s not necessarily strategy. Said, I believe, she said, I believe that if I quietly aim for underpart, good results will come, and I’ll approach you with the mindset of just hitting three. Well, the reality was that three was only achieved a few times. She had two birdies, five and seven. Then she was done. bogey 10, pars 11 through 17, and then things got interesting and just seeing a glimpse of the leaderboard that was, we remind ourselves that at one point there were seven players in the final three or four holes, all at 10 on the clock. That change with Hunbe Na who did not struggle for birdies today finding one of the 17 moving herself into a share of the leads and for a moment it felt like a twoplayer race that would change 60 again. Joe had a couple of days on the run 15 meter plus birdie putts she would go to 11. And then 1808 and how it treated us today. The top six, every single one of them burning. Unbeaten caress that ball onto the green and she’d be the first to head into the clubhouse. A score of 204 through 54 holes. four birdies in the final five. But I think in that moment she probably knew she wasn’t done yet. This was 17. After being long after two, she only came this close to holding out from off the green. She would have gone a 12 under there. And as we know from from now, it wasn’t that long ago, a putt on 18 would have been a putt to win it. This Yukan Joe chance at the Eagle would have been gravy. Okay, he’s doing it the hard way. 630 of the round for a 567. We knew it’d be a two person playoff. It almost wasn’t even a playoff dance for an eagle from the fringe. Eagles on 18, but do just enough for an even 36 on the way in. Three players then in the playoffs. Shindai and Yuan Joe Hanbe. The T-shots. The T-shots. Four was shouted after that driver was sliced onto the cart path. Look out. And it’s a good thing that the people standing on the ashalt got out of the way. This would end up rolling 42 m from the teen ground and it just it just kept going. It was like the prices right clinko through the nails down down down down eventually. It would skip into the rough. What that would leave Shind with was 68 m with a little left to right cross wings. She brought herself to about 5 m for an eagle. So Yu and Joe said, “Well, I need to make this putt.” And would you believe she did a sensational putt then had this to win itself the break 400 plus meter drive still couldn’t take advantage of it but she somehow found the mental resolve to put it behind her. I’m still in this. Still in this with a shot. Yan Jolie at 22 m. She went for it in two. That was for the eagle, but it was way too quick despite a a bucketload of frame. You saw she rolled long. She a little bit of punch for birdie exercising some with that stroke. And then all she could do was watch. Yuanjo needed this putt to force a second playoff. Very similar to the one she had made on the first playoff board. Slightly off the mark is officially crowned a champion as his 14th KG Ladies Open went to a playoff went to a playoff for a second consecutive taken the title in Peso. I believe it’s consecutive year. Third consecutive year noi won defeated the awards presentation. Let’s throw it down to the Korech. Fore speech. Okay. forchech. Fore! Fore!chch! There you Champion. done. Good. Lady open. You look so good. Fore ladies. Please open. They don’t protected against Starting point. Fore speech. Well, so ends 54 holes of madness in the best kind of But Shindai surviving a threehole playoff to be crowned a champion. And I stand corrected. It’s not one, it’s not two, it’s not three. Would you believe that this has been something of a tradition to go to a playoff for almost half a decade. Pretty remarkable. But in the end, Shindí would be the player to stand above the rest through 56 holes. Chiian Soul and Chayan, they’re also going home with brand new beautiful vehicles from KG. Just as Shindí will be taking home the keys to the car that she was driven to the red carpet in along with a smattering of other prizes. Our low amiter was also honored for her performance this week as the only one to make the cut. She knew Eun so that she’d win it but was still officially crowned champion in the prize ceremony. Well, what a week it was. It was certainly one that lived up to the billing. It had a little bit of everything this week from playoffs to torrential rain to surprisingly good weather and certainly a bevy of great shots including two holes in one in the last two days. But that’s going to bring our time in young to a conclusion and we’ll look ahead to what’s next. And what’s next is the month of September and the KB Financial Group Star Championship. What an event that will be. Yuan Joe. That’s the event that she won for the first time in her career. She’ll head in as a runner up this week and the defending champion. It all gets underway on Thursday from Blackstone each 1.5 billion one up for grabs. We’re getting into the big money tournaments as we have just 10 tournaments remaining this season. I want to thank you for joining us. I want to thank our fabulous crew for braving the elements and bringing this event to you. I’ve been Adam Jenkins signing off from the 14th KG Ladies Open. We appreciate as always your continued support of the KPGA Tour. Uhoh. Continue. Do not go. Thank you.
