Golf fans hammered Kentlay for being so slow as he made his way around with Tommy Fleetwood before falling short of the Englishman, who finally got his first win on the PGA Tour. Patrick Kentlay was the subject of more slowplay accusations at the Tour Championship this weekend, and now Phil Mickelson has dipped into the issue. Nevertheless, the issue of pace of play has continued to rear its head all weekend, and even the LIV golf side of things had issues. Brooks Kepka was accused of purposely getting put on the clock in what was a surprise accusation at the LIV Michigan event. Now though, another LIV star, Phil Mickelson, has weighed in with what appears to be a cheeky dig, albeit in jest, at Patrick Kentlay. Kentlay has always been one of the slower players on the PGA Tour, and it was little surprised to see him try and put Fleetwood off and away by being so slow. Still, while it’s frustrating for the average golf fan, Phil Mickelson has now made light of things as he pointed out the amount of shuffles Canlay managed before teeing off. He shuffled his right foot 26 times. 26 times before he hit it. 26 by 36 other shots is 936 ft shuffles. That’s more calf raises than I’ll ever do. You also must be in peak physical condition to do this daily. So, let’s stop all the hate and appreciate that golfers are athletes.
