CEDAR FALLS— After the first 18 holes Saturday, the Central College women’s golf team is in eighth place with a score of 337 at the Kohawk Classic.
Playing at the par-72 Pheasant Hill Golf Course, Central is eighth of 10 teams. Mount Mercy University leads the way after shooting 297.
Allie Pfantz (sophomore, State Center, West Marshall HS) recorded a 77 and sits in ninth place. Mickey Martens (junior, Villa Park, Ill., Willowbrook HS) is 20th after surging on the back nine, shooting and even-par 36 to finish with an overall score of 80.
Also in the Dutch lineup, Chloe Sundet (sophomore, Urbandale, Waukee Northwest HS) shot 87 and is in 49th, Bella Keaveney (sophomore, Hubbard, South Hardin HS) shot 93 is in 59th and Karlee Koehler (freshman, Mingo, Baxter HS) shot 94 and is in 63rd.
The two-day tournament wraps up Sunday with 18 more holes at Pheasant Ridge GC.
