FINAL RESULTS

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. —

It is a tournament the Albion men’s golf team has been playing in since 1996.

Bedford Valley Golf Course’s long, 7,020-yard links boded well for the Britons’ A team on a sunny but slightly breezy day, as they placed second in Olivet’s two-day Lou Collins Memorial with a score of 624.

The total was just three strokes off Kalamazoo’s first-place effort and the Britons’ best team finish in their 29 years of playing in the tournament.

Albion’s B squad came in fifth with 638 strokes.

Leading the way throughout the entire tournament was Blake Wagner, who shot a 76 and finished third in the field (153).

Bradley Davis came in fourth (154) representing the B team’s best finisher by shooting a 76 on the final day as well.

Both Wagner and Davis were selected to the All-Tournament team.

Camden Paul (A) and Nolan Plasencia (B) both earned a top-10 finish by tying for ninth with scores of 157. Paul shot a 77, while Plasencia in his collegiate debut this weekend carded a 79 in the final round.

Nicholas Giannone for the A squad tied for 15th and finished with a 158 after shooting a 79. Brayden Goss, competing as an individual, also notched a 79 after shooting an 85 on Friday.

Charlie Dierkes and Matt Sypniewski each carded an 81 in their final round for the B team, while Vaughn Rogers shot an 82 for the A squad.

Xander Goss (87) and Ryan Knitter (99) rounded out the finishers for the Britons.
