for a very long time. Yeah, I I liked what he said about it last night, too. Like that was the AB where he wasn’t thinking that. I think that’s kind of like the message he once been going to him as long as I can remember since being here. It’s like, listen, all you need to do is make contact with the ball and it’ll go out of any park. So, if your thought process is that, just let all the other stuff happen. And um couldn’t be happier for him. You guys have heard me gush about him. He’s worked his, you know, tail off to get to that point. all the the rewards of that that you enjoy. You mentioned that throughout the season that they usually happen when you’re not trying to make it happen. Is there a point in the season where you saw it kind of click uh click form? Um no, I think it was just a gradual process. He got off to a slow start obviously and that is just the tendency of trying to do too much maybe over the winter coming into spring training building off of what he did last year. Tori and I had a conversation in the dugout last night about that too. I don’t think anybody maybe the rare occasion where somebody goes up to the plate three 0 count you’re going to you’re try to leave the yard and actually do it. Um and guys like Joe now know that. Uh with him hitting his 30 and the Angels now on the first team to have a pair of teammates have 30 or more home runs. What do you think about you guys being the first team there? Yeah, it’s a it’s quite an accomplishment and the two guys that did it obviously deserve all the accolades because again they’re two of my favorites in terms of the amount of work that went into it how they got to this point and quite frankly you know with Joe what’s still ahead and Taylor just being Taylor like constantly showing up set your clock to him might be a little quieter on some days than others but he’s going to post to the decision to bring Jack up what’s that to bring Jack up instead of maybe Ken or somebody else yeah I mean listen Kaden came off a great start on his last start. Um, we talked about it yesterday. You know, it was a bit of a heavier pitch count. You know, over 100. He’s in a good spot on four days. Jack’s on full rest, teed up to go today. So, just fit better for that. Is it uh just for today for Jack or is he the fifth starter? Uh, that’s a good question. I wish I could answer that unequivocally like I know you’d like. Um, but he is definitely the starter for today and we’ll see beyond that. And Anderson’s been the starter for Friday though. Yes. Okay. Joe has a breakout here. How do you did it celebrate him even further the next season to go beyond the division? Yeah, I mean I I think you you look back to last year and what he did. He was in the running for the gold glove. We moved him to center field, pushed his defense a little bit. Now when you see him go back and right field, we all say the same thing. Well, he’s mastered right field. I think that’s that’s the type of thing you see. So offensively and just the completeness of his game, taking care of his body, posting for 162. We play all the way through November. just those types of things to keep keep him pushing, keep driving him to to be bigger, better things. Obviously, like you’ve been here for the last four or five years, you’ve seen kind of things, great way things kind of trend at times in August and September. How important is it to make sure you guys don’t kind of go down that path here this year? It’s it’s huge. I mean, we’ve been talking about it for the last few weeks, just in the sense that everybody we’re going to play in this coming month. Um, and you know, obviously we’re not eliminated either, but we can we can dictate, we can control some of the seedings. We can control some of the participants. And I’m going to say this, and I’ve said it over the course of the season, we’re going to be playing in those situations, these games, those environments. This is what we play for. This is why you work so hard in the offseason. We play 162 games. So everybody on that field knows that I think there’s a lot of people that would say once the playoffs are not out of question but unlikely that it doesn’t really matter and there’s no difference between winning 71 and 79 games. Yeah. How how do you feel about it? Yeah. And I guess you could look at it different ways, right? My prior life, you know, obviously there are people who are interested in draft positioning. Um, there are people who are interested, you know, down here in there’s there’s a personal element to this that while there may be a little disappointment about no postseason play, I don’t think the individual um, if you were to call it a letown happens if you stay on it the right way. These guys are all going through different windows of their career. We’re talking about Joe trying to add to what he’s doing. Taylor, too. We’ve got Lugo Teao. There’s so many guys that have so much to to learn. And the biggest thing for me is to get through um a complete season and be thinking November, not thinking, oh, we’ve made it to September, so the season we can relax. I think just the opposite. Um to me, it’s like a salary drive. [Music]
