I Built My Dream Golf Simulator in 2025!

I built a $155,000 golf Sim in my garage and my wife was okay with it she did have one caveat though and I’ll let her tell you about it right now I needed his golf Sim to be off the ground off the for so I can utilize this space when he’s not using it so it was a hard ask but I figured it out and I’ll show you more about that solution later on in the video let me show you around make sure to stay tuned to the end of the video for a huge announcement now for some general info about the garage this is a two-car garage with a ceiling height of 9’5 in in preparation for all the golf and stuff to arrive we had to do some work to the garage to prepare for it we ended up painting the walls a nice dark blue not sure why we just really like the look of it and then we had to redo the lighting there was only a singular light bulb in the middle of our garage lighting the whole area and that was going to cut it so we ended up going with an H track that was a module solution that allowed me to then run that track from almost the full width of our garage allow me to put lights wherever I needed them to light the hitting surface as well as other things around the room and then we had to redo the flooring to press for the hitting surface so we knew the thickness of The Hitting surface and now it was my job to find materials to build up to the exact same height as the hitting surface so I can now cut it into the floor and it would be a seamless transition from the hitting surface to the carpet and foam panels so I’ll show you that solution right now the first layer of flooring are these foam interlocking tiles from Amazon these are 1in th and they are super durable I was surprised at how non squishy these were but they also still helped with the deading of the balls when dropping from the impact screen after this we went with industrial grade carpet from Lowe’s we went with a 20ft wide roll we went wall to wall with it and again we want this color cuz I thought it went really well with the wall color we went with the dark blue between the thickness of the foam tiles and the carpet we almost nailed the same height as the hitting surface there is a slight difference but it’s not enough to really notice or to trip on for the hitting surface we went with the 4×9 hot shot hitting mat from gungho golf we got all of our products for our SIM from Gung Golf and we will show you all of those products in just a few minutes but I want to focus on the insert for the sitting mat and the technology behind it so when hitting you have give to this section this allows you to take divots as realistically as possible obviously this is not Outdoors so they’re trying to mimic it as best as possible the technology behind it and I’ll show you that right now are these three foam strips and a piece of plastic I know it doesn’t seem like a lot but the feel of when you’re hitting it and you get that clean contact it does feel like outside golf so you have firmer foam on the outsides and soft foam on the insides again giving you that flexibility and to protect your wrist the install of this hitting mat was extremely simple all I did was lay it out in place put tape around the entire mat then cut with a razor blade through the carpet through the foam and then place this inside now that I showed you how I protect my wrist with this nice little insert let me show you how I protect my ceiling from all my bad shots with the impact screen solution that I went with my ceiling was exposed bare sheetrock and I wasn’t going to start hitting balls in there cuz I’m not very good and I’m definitely going to hit the ceiling once in a while so I came up with the solution well I didn’t come up with the solution gungho golf did I just purchased it it’s ceiling foam they have it in pre-measured kits they send you all the foam you just put it on the ceiling they even have an angled area to protect the top of the impact screen which was just amazing and just simple to install I took it one step further and used four pieces of Mason knight from Home Depot and mounted those to the ceiling and then inhered the foam panels to those just for easy cleanup if I ever have to move or take these down in any way shape or form if any of you guys want to see that and how I did that please leave a comment below I’d love to make a video or a short about it you just let me know I know you guys are probably wondering how I solved my wife’s one caveat of making this entire setup disappear when I’m not using it and it was actually pretty simple once I found the right product gungho golf allowed me to make this happen with their retractable impact screens with a click of a button these impact screens actually get motor ized up and you can bring them back down whenever you want to use them so again when I’m not using this nothing is here I have a seamless transition between flooring and the hitting M all of the things that I need to use are mounted to the ceiling including all the technology that runs the system so thank you again gungho golf for making this possible because without it I wouldn’t have a golf Sim so thank you just for reference I’m 61 and this is the size of my impact screen for my main screen that I’m hitting into it is 13 15 ft left to right and obviously the distance from floor to ceiling on the left and right side I have these lovely screens that protect myself from any Shanks and bad shots that I have so they don’t hit anything else in my room and those are 4 feet deep so with one click of the button this is how I keep my wife happy so I use this remote and I click it one time and all of my screens at once rise completely out of the way so she can utilize this space any way she wants to each of these screens is weighed down by a metal bar that’s a attached into a loop in the bottom of the screens I don’t want to hit that with the golf ball so to protect myself I put a piece of gutter foam on the bottom protecting it with a piece of turf laying on top of it so if anything goes down and hits that lower part of the screen it actually gets popped up and hits the screen instead of hitting that bar just to protect myself and now it’s time for the fun stuff all the tech that runs my entire setup a large majority of my budget did go to this and we’re talking about my launch monitor the prot tvx I’m not going to go into great detail about the tvx there’s just so much to cover and so many great details that I should mention but I’m just going to focus today on the things that made me choose it for my setup first being to keep the wife happy again she wanted everything to be off the ground out of the way when I’m not using it and the prot tvx is a ceiling mounted unit allowing me to do that on top of it it links with GS Pro the software I wanted to use from the very beginning I fell in love with all the reviews and all the courses and how it looks it just made sense for me to find something that connected to that softare for seamlessly also a huge thing for me was not needing to put stickers on my clubs or use specific balls a lot of launch monitors now days need that to work and this one doesn’t which really was a huge Plus for me because if my friends come over with their clubs I don’t need to be sticking you know stickers on their clubs and telling them hey use this ball they can use whatever they want whatever makes them comfortable and now for what is going to run this entire setup and run that software run the prot tvx software and do everything it needs to do to make this system run my computer this is my wife alli’s computer now that we have a newborn and he’s almost 6 months she wasn’t gaming anymore so I stole the computer for my golf Sim this thing has a 3090 I 91th gen and 32 gigs of RAM giving it plenty of strength and power to do everything I needed to do including where my GS Pro my Pro tvx and all the streaming software so I can stream to Tik Tok twitch and YouTube all at the same time on top of that this thing has the power to run four different displays with the 3090 the first being the hyperx Armada 27 in this is at the desk location and allowing me to do any of my basic needs the second monitor is the Samsung TV that’s the one that’s directly above me now that allows me to display all my prot tvx hitting data and shot data so my audience can see that on my live streams my third display is actually a TV located on the opposite side of the garage which is in the direction I’m facing when I’m golfing I display my chats for Tik Tok twitch and YouTube on there I also watch sports when I’m not live streaming video games anything anything I want to watch is on that display the last and most important display is the BenQ 1080p short throw projector this is what does it all for me this is what projects my display of GS Pro on my impact screen the cool part is is that it’s short throw so I can actually have it really close to my impact screen and not have my body cast Shadows on the screen which was the most important thing for me I didn’t want that and I wanted that full immersion into GS Pro along with all the cool stuff in my setup I still wanted to make the setup my own so I got my favorite golfer Jersey and I hung it up I got a rack for my clubs I got a club keyboard to make it a little bit more immersive and allow me to limit the trips back to my keyboard and mouse to run GS Pro these things made my life a little easier but if you guys have any suggestions on different things on your setup or that you’ve seen on the internet that you think I should try please leave them in the comments below I’d love to give them a shot and also we have a huge announcement right now if you guys made it this far thank you so much we have a big announcement for you guys we are starting a golf ch called B talk golf this is where me and Ally are going to be posting everything golf related to that channel we are on all socials so go check us out and without further Ado I’m going to hit a shot and hopefully it’s not a bad one so thank you guys for being here I love you I appreciate you and don’t judge my swing it was a bad one delete it Jesus that was a good one 26 7 carry yeah we just put that one in front of the other one and we’ll be fine

  1. How did you get the tv on the opposite side of the garage hooked up to the computer ? Long hdmi? I don’t see any cords so just curious. Thanks!

  2. I’m so happy for you Danny and Ally, you guys inspired me to make my own YouTube videos and TikTok videos, you guys inspired me to make my dream gaming setup and you guys deserve so much more in life. I love you guys ❤

  3. Isn’t 9’5” a bit tight when it comes to swinging a driver? Not to mention you lost at least another two inches from the mats on the floor and of the ceiling tiles are above your head you lose even more.

  4. Nice video! Thinking of doing something similar. Did you have to do install any electrical outlets for the screen and projector? Or did you already have those?

  5. Fantastic set up. Definitely going to be looking back on this when I have the space to build something similar.

  6. Hello Danny: I enjoyed your out of the box ideas. I have a few questions, that I hope you can provide some answers. What is your finished height of the bottom of the hung ProTee, to the top of your finished hitting mat? What type of support bracket did you use in support of hanging the ProTee to the ceiling area? I am just finishing my golf area and will be using a drop ceiling, so your design might work. Please provide the finish height from the top of the hitting mat to the top of your finished ceiling without the ProTee VX included in the measurement. Thanks for sharing you design, Preston
