Anyone look into these ball tests ? It's funny they are both using robots to test the balls but yet have very different results.
From what I see the srixon zstar and pxg performed well on both sides.
Is one could company getting paid to boost a balls results? What are your insights

Distance is just one measure to look at. Feel and short game control are so much more important (to me). No robot is going to measure that. I think it’s best to do a personal test with balls that fit your budget.
I’ve always felt icky about the stuff MGS puts out. I’ve never really trusted it and I honestly don’t know why.
Im guessing the scale of the graph doesn’t start at zero. 5 yard difference from the top to bottom at 325 yards or so is not going to be much of a difference for 98% of golfers.
What’s odd to me is that the fine print on the MGS says “based on club speed, attack angle, and 2641 average backspin” (I think? I can’t read) and I would think different balls at the same speed and same angle of attack would have differing back spin, seeing as the ball composition affects that. So I’m not sure how they managed to get that so similar as to be able to put it on the print.
Distance is not a good metric to judge a ball. Dispersion is the single most important metric – period. Feel is subjective and important too, but realistically the metric that has a real impact is dispersion.
I have been a Titleist guy for the past 15 years. This years balls cover is horrible. Bunker shots can damage the cover. It’s pretty disappointing for such a solid ball.

Used Ai to correct the visual for something less clickbaity
Fine, but where’s the chart that relates to me? Low speed driver, and all the balls are used with scuff marks…
What about my Pinnacle Rush
Why is the second graph such poor smash and high spin? Was it some guy hitting the balls instead of a robot?
Where does random 00s golf ball retrieved from a bush rank on the chart?
Where do my Nitro’s rank?
6 yards under perfect conditions. Guess it doesn’t really mean much.
TIL that PXG makes a golf ball
I’d hazard a guess that for 95% of golfers the ball (or clubs) isn’t the thing holding them back from the long drives.
Kirkland it is.
Love the Z-star XV’s. Bloody good balls
Pro V1X or Z Star XV
Literally can’t choose
116mph swing speed. Amateur
So today’s golfer has theirs broken down into ball types, 2 piece, 3 piece club, 3 piece tour, etc. You’re not comparing graphs as apples to apples. You didn’t read anything and jumped to massive assumptions.
Pffff….my range ball out does all this when I blade it in the bunker
I don’t know if you noticed but mygolfspy is using TOTAL distance and today’s golfer is using CARRY distance, which is most likely more accurate
Their methods are very different. MyGolfSpy tested outside in the 105 degree Arizona heat. They had to repeat part of the test due to wind. Today’s Golfer tested everything indoors with a launch monitor. You can argue which is more valid, but it’s not surprising the results differ. Take both with a grain of salt.
Maybe it’s because having kids have taken me out of golf the last couple years, but mizuno makes golf balls? And PXG?
Would have appreciated the source links.
isn’t the reality of this data the fact that they are all basically exactly the same??
Here’s the thing about MGS, it feels like it’s become “every big name brand is a winner” in some big category.
But what about my noodles
I really hated the feel of the PXG balls and they had some crazy spin off the tee
So just buy the cheapest of these balls? 6 yards max difference is peanuts
I’ve been using triple diamonds all year at the suggestion of my pro. This tracks. I’ve been a prov/x user for a decade (hate left dashes).
Callaway bought MGS now too?
Also lol at the missing results. 280+ yrds. at a 102 mph swing speed. While theoretically possible, it’s not reality.
They used PXG balls but not Vice? Come on now.
Kirkland 😂💪🏌🏼♀️
The compressions are way off between the two. MGS has z star diamond at 93 and this has it at 106… And srixon usually claims about 100 compression.
I wonder if these tests are done inside with a launch monitor or outside and they measure the distance. I think there’s a lot of aerodynamics that can’t be captured from the first moments of launch.
MGS is such trash
Mygolfspy are whiny little titty babies. That’s all I have to add
XTREME GOLF YEAHHHHHH BUDDY ITS XTREME!!!!
TG spin numbers are VERY high
So all the balls are not statistically different is what they showed. Cool.
