PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – In its season debut, the TCU men’s golf team shot 2-under and is in second place following the opening round of the Carmel Cup on Friday at Spyglass Hill Golf Course.
The Horned Frogs trail only No. 12 Vanderbilt (-8) and lead defending national champion and preseason No. 1 ranked Oklahoma State by three strokes.
Senior Toby Wilt had a bogey-free front nine on the way to a round of 3-under 69. He is tied for second place and trails Texas Tech’s Connor Graham (-5) by two strokes.
In his collegiate debut, freshman Nathan Miller made five birdies, shot 2-under 70 and is tied for eighth place.
Hudson Wilt was even par and is tied for 16th place, one stroke better than teammate Lewis Wright. The Long Island University transfer made his TCU debut after redshirting the 2024-25 season and shot 1-over 73 and is tied for 23rd place.
Rounding out the scoring for the Frogs in the play six count four format was Jack Beauchamp who was 2-over 74 and tied for 29th.
TCU will begin the second round at 12:48 p.m. CT.
