Showed up to play a local course (Clustered Spires) in Maryland and asked for a small range balls to warm up some pre-round.

While it was only 60°F which isn’t too cold yet very welcome temps. I didn’t think it would affect the range baskets. $6 for 14 balls….

What is everyone paying for range balls pre round?

lol, I’d say no thanks. This is where you bring found junk balls to the range for warmup.

Even at my university course where they like to nickel and dime you, we pay $5 for 34 balls.

  2. That’s comical, a small is usually 40-45 balls by me for that price at a course. Those should just be free at that point

Isn’t this literally the warm-up bucket that reddit has been crying for all these years?

When I started golfing in 2021, a large bucket of range balls was $8. Today at my local range it’s $17. Currently renovating a space to build my own simulator as I can make my money back just in range time, plus my girlfriend who wants to learn won’t have to drop $17 every time she wants to practice, as we all know it takes thousands of swing to develop feel. It’s crazy what these ranges are charging for range balls these days.

Bro they can’t be serious right that’s the most laughable bucket I’ve ever seen !

That’s why I carry the shag bag with crappy balls found on the course.

Price aside. This is the perfect amount of balls to warm up with

  11. DamnInternetYouScury

    $5 for 25, $9 for 50, and $15 for 100 at my local range

  12. Isn’t that what a warmup bucket should look like?

As a guy who plays Clustered Spires somewhat regularly but has never used their range, thanks for this heads up. I had a good chuckle.

Shame, too, because the course is fairly nice and a decent enough price for the quality.

  14. I would honestly laugh in their face and shame them and make them give you money back.

  15. Wow you could’ve just bought some used non-premiums

  16. timothy_Turtle

10 for 85 balls. Or free at the nicer courses but really it’s just rolled in to the cost per round

  17. Odd_History6313

At that rate, just buy used balls for 25 cents on facebook

  18. Happy_Snapper

Range balls should always be included in greens fees imo

POV: When you order your range buckets from Temu.

I have no morals or ethics.

I just go to the range and hit trash balls that I find on the course. I always have about 10 weighing me down.

I know this isn’t allowed, but I also don’t want to pay $6 for 14 balls. Please, don’t ban me or turn me in to the authorities.

That looks the size a course would make complimentary for a round, not actually charge for….

You sure you paid for that? I’ve played that course and that is the warm up bucket that is free. You may have been charged by a new person.
