Four other Big 12 schools made the top 25 list, with the defending national champions, Oklahoma State, sitting atop the poll after receiving 15 first-place votes, while no other school had more than one. The only other Big 12 school higher than BYU is Arizona State at sixth with 377 total votes. Texas Tech sits two spots behind the Cougars in a tie for 15th with North Carolina, with 167 votes. The Arizona Wildcats are ranked No. 22 with 97 votes.

On Wednesday, the Cougars were headlined in Golfweek’s preseason rankings at No. 12 overall.

BYU finished 13th in its NCAA Championship run last May and looks to return to La Costa this upcoming season. Nine top 5 finishes, including three team victories at the Big 12 Match Play, Arizona N.I.T., and NCAA Regionals, highlighted the Cougars’ 2024-25 season.
