The countdown is on to the 2025 Amgen Irish Open, which returns to The K Club next week, combining world-class golf with a strong line-up of off-course entertainment and fan activations.

Fresh from his victory at Augusta earlier this year, Masters Champion Rory McIlroy will headline the tournament.

On Thursday, September 4th, following his opening round, he will take part in an exclusive Q&A session in the Championship Village, hosted by broadcaster Shane O’Donoghue.

The session will give supporters the opportunity to hear McIlroy reflect on his 2016 Irish Open win at The K Club and his achievement of completing the career Grand Slam in 2025.

For the duration of the tournament, fans will be able to view McIlroy’s Grand Slam trophies – the US PGA Championship, US Open, The Open Championship, and Masters – which will be on display in the Championship Village.

Pro-Am Line-Up

The traditional Pro-Am on Wednesday, September 3rd, will feature a range of well-known names from Irish sport and media. Rugby is represented by Dan Sheehan, Josh Van Der Flier, Johnny Sexton and Tommy Bowe, while the GAA contingent includes Tipperary’s Ronan Maher and Kerry footballers Paudie and David Clifford. RTÉ’s Jacqui Hurley and lifestyle content creator Dearbhla Silke are also in the line-up.

Tournament Field

McIlroy will be joined in the main event by a strong field that includes Shane Lowry, Pádraig Harrington, Séamus Power, Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald, defending champion Rasmus Højgaard, 2016 Masters champion Danny Willett, 2018 Open winner Francesco Molinari, Jhonattan Vegas, and Ryan Gerard.

Luke Donald will name his Captain’s picks for the Ryder Cup on Monday, adding to the spotlight that will be shining on golf next week.

Family and Entertainment Programme

The Championship Village will once again play a central role in expanding the event’s appeal.

Family entertainment will run from Wednesday through Sunday, with activities including bouncy castles, face painting, interactive play areas, and live music. On the weekend, children’s entertainers, glitter tattoos, and balloon modelling will be added to the programme.

On stage, The Stunning will perform on Saturday evening, September 6th, while Simple Things will close out the event on Sunday, September 7th.

Among the activations taking place during the week is the popular Beat the Pro challenge, held on the par-three 12th hole on Saturday, September 6th. Amateur golfers will have the opportunity to test themselves directly against the professionals in front of spectators, with pre-registration required.

Next week we will be on-site at the K Club with all the latest from the tournament, including a round up of the commercial partnerships in place for the tournament and plenty more.
