Testing Overview
Our 2025 Golf Ball Robot Test captured the launch and flight data of 2,232 shots using Foresight’s GCQuad launch monitor, a gold-standard industry motion capture system trusted by tour pros, coaches, and club fitters across the sport.
We collected data at three driver speeds (114 mph, 93 mph, and 84 mph), representing the real-world average swing speeds of PGA Tour pros, LPGA Tour pros & male club golfers, and female club golfers, respectively. We additionally collected 7-iron data at 80 mph and 56-degree wedge data from a 40-yard pitch shot. A testing first this year saw our sample undergo compression testing, enabling you to see how the golf balls behaved under applied compressive force and how much variability we observed within each model.
For detailed testing rationales and methodologies, head over to our main 2025 Golf Ball Robot Test landing page, where you will find everything you need to know about how and why we conducted the study.
Without further ado, here are the 2025 Golf Ball Robot Test results in full. We hope you enjoy exploring and comparing models, and ultimately come away with a shortlist of options that can help keep your handicap moving in the right direction.

Individual category results
Below you will find the entirety of our test results, categorised by construction type into five tables that report the data from each of the five shot types. The tables have been sorted high-low by carry distance for the three driver swing speeds, by descent angle for the 7-iron shot, and by backspin for the pitch shot with a wedge.
2-piece club balls
Three balls stood out from the crowd in our 2-piece construction category, with the Bridgestone e12 Speed receiving the best average rank for the five metrics we aggregated to crown our overall winners. It performed exceptionally well off-the-tee across all driver speeds and was the 4th longest ball at the 114-mph driver swing speed.
The Callaway Warbird+ and Titleist Tour Soft were the other models that performed well across the board, with the Tour Soft ranking 6th across the whole test for wedge backspin.

The 3-piece Vice Tour was a strong performer across the board across our entire test, consistently ranking above the test average across a host of metrics.
The Kirkland Signature V3.0 produced another great set of results this year, ranking 7th for wedge backspin. And while the Srixon Q-Star Tour didn’t rank highly off-the-tee, it ranked 2nd across the whole test for the consistency of carry distance with 7-iron.

Our 3-piece tour-level category was a story of the Srixons this year, with the Z-Star Diamond, Z-Star XV, and Z-Star all making our category podiums.
All three performed exceptionally for approach metrics, making them a fantastic ball for those looking for sharp descent angles and consistent carry distances. The Diamond was also our 2nd-ranked ball across the whole test for wedge backspin.

It was another excellent year for the Wilson Staff Model family. Long and fast off-the-tee across all driver swing speeds, with steep descent angles into greens and highly competitive wedge backspin numbers. Perhaps the most underrated ball in the industry, in our opinion.
The Callaway Chrome Tour X rounded off our top three picks for all-around performance. Not the longest or fastest, but very solid tee-to-green across our criteria, and took the test title for the highest spinning ball with wedge.
An honorable mention goes to the Seed SD-02, which performed strongly across the board against some of the biggest models in the game.

Here you can see the variability we observed during the compression testing of all 62 models. The most consistent model across the entire test was the Titleist Pro V1 (98 +/- 1.2), with other notably consistent models including the TaylorMade TP5, Wilson Staff Model X, PXG Tour X, Vice Pro, Titleist AVX, and both Titleist Pro V1x models.
The most consistent 2-piece ball was the Callaway Supersoft (41 +/- 2.5), followed by the Srixon UltiSoft (36 +/- 2.6), indicating excellent manufacturing consistency for the price.
