After 164 PGA Tour starts, 34-year-old Tommy Fleetwood finally claimed his first career PGA Tour victory on Sunday at the Tour Championship, taking home a massive $10 million first-place payout.
Fleetwood has been a model of consistency all season, though he endured several heartbreaking losses in previous tournaments where he entered the final round with a lead. This weekend, however, everything came together as he seized the moment on one of golf’s biggest stages.

He shot a 68 on Sunday to finish the tournament at 18-under par, winning by three strokes over Patrick Cantlay and Russell Henley, who tied for second at 15-under.
Following the emotional victory, Fleetwood celebrated with family and friends—and even received a congratulatory message from golf legend Tiger Woods on social media.
“Your journey is a reminder that hard work, resilience, and heart do pay off,” Woods wrote. “No one deserves it more. Congrats @TommyFleetwood1!”

It’s been a long journey for Tommy Fleetwood. While he has remained one of golf’s premier faces over the past decade, a win on the PGA Tour had always eluded him—until this weekend.
Over the course of his career, Fleetwood has recorded 44 prior top-10 finishes and six runner-up results.
Despite not having a victory until now, he is currently ranked No. 10 in the world and reflected on his previous experiences following his breakthrough win.
“I’m proud of what I’ve done before,” Fleetwood said. “Whether I’ve won or not [before], I’ve still been proud of my career and where I’ve been so far, knowing that I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn. This doesn’t change that, really. This is just, hopefully, one win — the first of many to come. You can’t win plenty if you don’t win the first one. I’m just so happy that I got it done. Happy with my work ethic. I’ll continue to try and get better, try to be the best I can be.”
