FARMVILLE, Va. – Avery Nordman put together a strong performance to open her collegiate career over the weekend, and she was named the Big South Women’s Golf Freshman of the Week today.
Nordman tied for 12th at the Jayhawk Invitational in her collegiate debut and saved her best round for last.
The freshman from Ontario carded an even-par 72 in her third and final round. She had a 77-78-72—227 (+11) to lead the Lancers as the team’s top finisher.
Nordman tied for fourth in the field on Par 3s, and she tied for fifth with nine birdies in her three rounds.
She helped the Lancers finish fifth in the 10-team field to open the season.
