LINCOLN, Neb — The Nebraska men’s golf team is gearing up to launch its 2025 fall season at the Island Resort Invitational, hosted by South Dakota State at the Sage Run Golf Club. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will commence on Sunday, August 31, with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. Central Time. The event will conclude on Monday, September 1, with the final 18 holes.

Nebraska will compete against a 12-team field, including Big Ten rivals Michigan, Michigan State, and Purdue, as well as Ball State, Central Florida, Illinois State, Miami (Ohio), St. Mary’s (Calif.), UTEP, West Virginia, and the host team, South Dakota State.

Rudy Sautron, a junior from Reunion Island, France, secured the top spot in Nebraska’s lineup following pre-tournament qualifying. Sautron set a school record with a 71.70 stroke average in his first year with the Huskers. Evan McDermott, a redshirt junior from Spring Lake, Michigan, will play in the No. 2 spot, returning to his home state after a standout sophomore season with a 73.44 stroke average.
