PORT Glasgow Golf Club are Inverclyde Golf’s 2025 Team Champions after a tight contest at Gourock Golf Club.

The event, first played in 1976, involves 12-man teams from the four local clubs — Gourock, Greenock, Port Glasgow and Whinhill.

Twelve four-ball, better-ball matches are played, with each club playing two matches against the other three clubs.

Port Glasgow edged out Gourock by a single point with Port Glasgow gaining four points to Gourock’s three with Greenock and Whinhill earning 2.5 points each. Nine out of the 12 matches were decided on the last hole, so it was a great contest, played in the usual great spirit.

This was Port Glasgow’s fourth victory in the event and first ever away from home.
