Join Luke the Weekend Tour Pro as he reviews the brand new CBZ Wedges from Cleveland Golf – a Cavity Back wedge offering all the forgiveness and help the mid and higher handicap golfers need yet all the performance and workability you usually only get from a bladed wedge.

Luke starts the review by talking you through the looks of the Cleveland CBZ wedges including showing a comparison against a traditional bladed wedge (Titleist Vokey SM9).

Next Luke puts these new Cleveland wedges through their paces, testing a variety of different shots from all lies (fairway, rough & bunker) whilst talking you through all the key pieces of technology, such as the new Z-Alloy face which is 25% softer, improved Zipcore and more central sweet spot for higher MOI and a better CG placement as well as Ultizip and Hydrazip for spin retention from all lies, including wet ground.

Luke then heads into the studio and captures data on TrackMan with the CBZ wedges to find out if the performance can match or exceed his bladed wedges – giving you his immediate feedback before walking you through all the key data points – covering spin rates, distances, ball flights and consistency. Luke even throws in some wet vs. dry testing to really put the Hydrazip to the test.

Finally, Luke talks you through all the loft, bounce, grind and shaft options as well as offering his concluding thoughts on just how brilliant these Cleveland CBZ Wedges are and who he’d recommend tests them.

Are these the best wedges for new, beginner or mid-handicap golfers? Watch this video to find out!

  1. I use a 54 CBX 2 in black. One of the best performing wedges I've had. Nice to see Cleveland continuing this line of clubs.

  2. Great and thorough review! Will try them if I get the chance. I've tested Callaway and Taylormade wedges, but there is nothing like the Vokey wedges. Lovely feel, and the grooves last a lot longer compared to the other brands I've tested.

  3. Luke?…do you honestly think they are more forgiving 🤷 I find my rtx6s forgiving for me dunno I'm on the fence mate

  4. I think maybe in a 48 50 Deg might be good as you would play more full shots 🤷 Luke is there a 48deg

  5. Only recently upgraded my wedges to CBX 4’s (48, 54 and 60) and can say they are great for control and feel, and are really confidence building. If these are an improvement then would highly recommend!!

  6. This is another well produced and highly informative video, which is also well demonstrated. It will certainly generate considerable interest and deservedly so.

  7. Hi Luke, I think it makes so much sense for the average golfer to be using cavity back wedges. I switched from bladed wedges to Cleveland CBX wedges several years ago and I don't think I'd ever go back to bladed wedges again. My accuracy with the CBXs improved significantly which I put down to the forgiveness. You have me really intrigued with these new CBZ wedges, especially in graphite. I'll need to give them a try. I also really like the simplicity regarding bounce and grind. It becomes so confusing when tring to figure out the best grind when many wedges have more grinds than I have fingers. Thanks so much for putting out this video. BTW, I was really impressed by those shots you hit around the green. The practice looks to be paying off ⛳💪

  8. Got fitted for new wedges ended up with the RTZ in the bag, 54 and 58. MG5s were very close if I’m being honest, but I have a soft spot for Cleveland and love how they felt. Vokeys were solid as well but I prefer the softer feel from the Clevelands
