Hi, I am relatively new to golf, I am currently playing off handicap 54 until I have submitted enough scores to regulate it.
At the weekend my partner and I played a new course and I borrowed a hybrid from the club to try out. It was very old but I scored 47 stableford points! It was game changing! It gave me so much more distance and accuracy both off the tee and on the fairway. My scores are usually between 29-36 with my irons with 1 score of 40 when I had a great round.
I have attached pictures of the Hybrid I borrowed but I think it’s so old that I can’t find it anywhere on the secondhand market, yes, I did ask the club if I could buy it but it was the weekend and the secretary was not there so they wouldn’t let me and we don’t live locally! I think it’s a Callaway 5 with 21 degree loft which would be equivalent to a 3 or 4 iron right? So can anyone tell me if there is a more recent club that would be similar to this on the 2nd hand market? I am female, 5ft 4, and have a slow swing speed. Oh and I live in Denmark so the secondhand market is not so big here for golf gear, but I could probably buy within the EU.
I have seen a Ping Faith Hybrid 5 with 25 degree loft at our secondhand retailer but guess that is going to be a shorter distance, more like a 5 iron?

Any 21 degree women’s hybrid should get you similar results! They really are great for getting the ball moving easily.
I’m not sure what online resellers you have access to in Denmark, but if you search for “womens 21 degree hybrid”, any of the options should be great for you. The newer clubs tend to be much easier to hit – clubs from 10/12 years ago are still very very usable.
Beyond that, I wouldnt waste the money on something 20+ years old – you should be able to find wayyy newer technology for dirt cheap.
Very important that you specifically find a womens’ club – the shaft of the club will be designed to work with your swing speed. Men’s clubs tend to be made significantly stiffer, which will be very difficult for you to hit.
That is a 5wood, not a hybrid. And yeah it appears to be about 30 years old.
This is a 5 wood, not a 5 hybrid. “L” on the shaft refers to it being “Ladies” flex.
If you want to find something similar, a women’s 5 wood at 20 or 21 degrees is what you need to look for.
It was so old I am surprised they didn’t just offer to give it to me! 😂
