Robert MacIntyre fell just short after a tense final round at the BMW Championship, but it wasn’t just the golf that tested him. After facing heckling from fans—particularly during his battle with Scottie Scheffler—the Scottish star chose not to comment on the crowd’s behavior. In this emotional post-round interview, MacIntyre opens up about a frustrating start, how close he came to pulling it off, and why he’s “really pissed off” after coming up just short.

  1. I am a huge Scottie Scheffler fan. Robert MacIntyre played great and put up a great fight. I hope to be seeing a-lot of him playing in America!

  2. I'm getting really sick and tired of the drunk morons at events.. yelling crap… Heckling players because they aren't American….. Start banning them for life from PGA evenrs

  3. LIV GOLF, you can be on a team, play lousy, and still pick up a good check if your TEAM plays good, How great is that, Bubba did.that all year long

  4. I’m glad Scottie won, but hecklers should be escorted off the course. I admire MacIntyre’s no comment. Some fans are obnoxious.

  5. Bob is pretty class act if you ask me. He’s gritty, honest, and humble. He’s going to win some majors. Ryder cup will be fun.

  6. People in the crowds at these tournaments sound like a bunch of idiots yelling all this stupid stuff when people hit shots. It takes a real punk to talk shit to someone knowing they can't do or say anything back to them. Be glad I wasn't standing beside whoever it was.

  7. Classy interview having lost after blitzing it the first 3 days. Some of these questions are sooooo bad. I thought these journos were supposed to be good at their job?

  8. You can’t cheat yourself to a win at the Scottish and then complain about being heckled. You made your bed cheat. The sport doesn’t tolerate it. Enjoy the heckling for the rest of your career.

  9. He will win a lot more in near future. He is a good player with heart. I like him. Some of spectators at PGAT tournaments are really shameful. They should be escorted out immediately and should be on black list for a professional tournament.

  10. The problem in sports with heckling is that u have a lot of losers that never accomplished anything of this magnitude like professional golf in their own lives and then pass on a huge amount of pressure and also their frustrations onto the shoulders of these successful players.
That's what it is. Look at baseball or football in the USA or football in Europe for instance.

  11. Bobbie is class.Sad certain elements of the crowd are not.Beth Paige black is gonna sadly be worse.Yes get behind your team be it USA or Europe but sadly think it will be more of the same magnified.Congrats Scottie.

  12. Bad luck, Bob. But still a brilliant performance over the 4 days, and you've shown you are world class.

  13. Cheering is fine, but anything else should result in being escorted off the course. The Ryder Cup is disgusting no matter where it's played so I refuse to watch – rather go to the driving range.

  14. The stupid shouts from crowd when players hit a shot is old and tiresome. They should get kicked out immediately for disruptive behavior. Ppl saying shit w/o fear of consequences is the root of this.

  15. The thing that got me was chants of USA USA from crowd. That’s great at Ryder Cup but this is an individual sport. To me it shows American ignorance and polarization of politics in this time. They doing to an Irishman, 10% of pop is Irish, imagine if it was an Asian or Indian golfer in final group how that chant would look like to a nongolf person.

  16. Bob was missing the 15th club namely the mental side of golf and being strong just remember when Jack Nicklaus started winning and he took on Arnold Palmer and Arnie's Army he was insulted by the fans calling him names like Ohio Fats among others but he still beat Arnold in his heyday.

  17. Fan treatment of Bob was a disgrace and barely called out by anyone. Of course US fans will want their man to win but they should look at the behaviour of UK fans who readily cheer on their own players but do not heckle their foreign player guests,

  18. Its not news that sports fans are often ignorant & vulgar, we have football chants here in Britain after all (I've turned off Ryder Cup because of this) but golf shouldn't have this sort of behaviour, it just doesn't fit and Scottie Scheffler I hope would come out and say something, yesterday it did give him an advantage. In rugby this doesn't happen and in cricket (apart from England's "Barmy Army") it doesn't either. Does it happen in other US sports?

  19. It's common knowledge that bogey avoidance is key when facing Scottie Scheffler on Sunday. He played like a coward and he'll have to live with that forever. He needs to step away from the game and work on driving accuracy and poise. A coward's heart in a fat body.

  20. Bob, you tried your best, the last round you just didn't perform. Don't smash your clubs, pick yourself up and win the next one. The 17th fkd it for you. Onwards and upwards🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  21. I can’t stand the idiots that holler on every shot “in the hole”. They should be escorted off the course. The hecklers are children that know they face no consequences. Let’s not forget the behavior of the crowds and the players the last Ryder Cup across the pond. Heckling shouldn’t be allowed on the course ever. Cheering is absolutely fine.

  22. Don't smash your clubs! I understand that you are disappointed but when you reflect on this you should be proud of yourself.

  23. Too many sissy’s in here crying about a heckler. Obviously there’s a line, but large crowds + alcohol guarantees there will be a few loud mouths. Get over it. If Bob played better this would be a non story.

  24. Thought that was a very sincere and candid comments and held it well together he will be back he’s a fighter and he will be stronger for it!

  25. Hecklers are turning it into wwf But for me id use that energy and stick it right up then yasssss Bob you be back ◼️

  26. I just became an even bigger supporter of Macintyre! I loved his response to the reporter who suggested that ONE fan heckled him on 12.

  27. McIntyre is smart not to comment on the heckling because he knows that next month at Bethpage during the Ryder Cup, there will be plenty of drunk New Yorkers to deal with. Whine about the hecklers at the BMW.. pay the price ten fold at Bethpage.
