A name to watch for years to come in Canadian golf is starting to really make her mark on home soil.

Aphrodite Deng, a 15-year-old from Calgary, Alta., continued an impressive showing at the CPKC Women’s Open by finishing the third round on Saturday at 3-under 68 and heading back to the clubhouse three shots back of the lead.

She finished the day tied for sixth at -6, with Australia’s Minjee Lee atop the leaderboard at -9 as Deng finished up her round.

Deng was on track to close out the back nine in spectacular fashion, with birdies on holes Nos. 15 and 17, but unfortunately came away with a bogey on 18.

It was her only bogey of the day, as she nabbed birdies on holes Nos. 2 and 9, as well.

Deng announced herself in a big way in Round 1 of the tournament, finishing the opening day at 5-under 66 and holding the clubhouse lead at one point. However, she finished Round 2 at 2-over 73.

The 15-year-old has had a stellar year, becoming the first Canadian to win the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship in July and notching wins at the Mizuho Americas Open and the Junior Invitational.

Elsewhere on the leaderboard, Canada’s Brooke Henderson is also lurking near the top and sat at -8 as Deng wrapped up her day.
