Roger Clemens posts golf scorecard with Donald Trump trailing behind
On Sunday, August 25, 2025, Roger Clemens shared the scorecard from his round with Donald Trump at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. The image showed the president’s 77 as the lowest score of the four players. In his Instagram post, Clemens wrote: “For everyone asking about the scorecard! Mr. President didn’t miss a fairway!!” The message appeared to play on Trump’s long reputation for bending golf rules.Sportswriter Rick Reilly described that history in his 2019 book Commander in Cheat, writing: “Trump doesn’t just cheat at golf. He cheats like a three-card Monte dealer. He throws it, boots it, and moves it. He lies about his lies. He fudges and foozles and fluffs. At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: ‘Pele.’”Donald Trump has also been accused of cheating in rounds with celebrities, including actor Samuel L. Jackson, and videos from his Turnberry course in Scotland last month showed him moving balls on at least two occasions. Also Read: Syko Stu GoFundMe Fundraiser Crosses $50,000 Following Violent Raja Jackson Wrestling Attack
Donald Trump defends Roger Clemens in Hall of Fame fight
Before the golf round, Donald Trump had gone on a fiery rant on Truth Social, calling it “stupidity” that Roger Clemens is still not in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Clemens, an 11-time All-Star and seven-time Cy Young Award winner, was named in the 2007 Mitchell Report for alleged steroid use but has always denied the claims and never tested positive. In his post, Donald Trump wrote: “Roger Clemens was easily one of the few Greatest Pitchers of All Time, winning 354 Games, the Cy Young Award seven times (A Record, by a lot!), and played in six World Series, winning two! He was second to Nolan Ryan in most strike-outs, and he should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame, NOW!”He continued: “People think he took drugs, but nothing was proven. He never tested positive, and Roger, from the very beginning, totally denies it… We are not going to let that happen in the case of Roger Clemens. 354 Wins- Put him in NOW.”
