ANGOLA, Ind. — A windy yet sunny day at Zollner Golf Course for the Albion women’s golf team ushered in the 2025-26 season for Briton athletics.

Competing in the Trine Kickoff Classic where 12 teams from nine schools were represented, the Albion B team came in fourth place (346) while their A team placed fifth (355).

Marissa Genske led the way for the Britons’ B squad, as the sophomore carded a career-low round of 82 which tied for seventh among the field.

Making her collegiate debut, Rowan Bluhm recorded an 85 for the B team as well. Anna Schaibly (A) and Payton LaRowe (A) each notched an 88, while Taylore Wilson (A) and Julia Sambaer (B) were the other Britons to break 90 as they shot an 89.

Zoe Autore (A) and Aubrie Schaibly (A) both scored a 90, and Peyton Sage (A) and Gabriella Davis (B) rounded out the Albion golfers with 92s.

Five freshmen made their collegiate debuts (Anna Schaibly, Sage, LaRowe, Sambaer and Bluhm), and all but Sage broke 90.
