SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Jodi Schwan with SiouxFalls.Business visited to discuss the new Mapleton Golf Course and the construction at Founder’s Crossing.
Mapleton Golf Club opening soon:
The city’s first new private golf club in more than 60 years is ready to open.
Members and families can start playing at Mapleton Golf Club on Saturday, August 30, located in northeast Sioux Falls near Slip-Up Creek and the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
In addition to the 18-hole championship course, there’s a 6-hole short course that will open in the spring, plus a driving range and clubhouse ready now.

The clubhouse includes a pro shop and full-service dining, but unlike the city’s other two clubs, there’s no swimming or tennis.
The restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner until the golf course closes, after which hours will be adjusted.
In March, 12 king suites with private baths will open, and restaurant hours will likely extend. Members can rent spaces for meetings and events.
As of late last week, there were 14 individual memberships remaining out of 175, along with a few corporate memberships.
The club will have private previews this week, with member access starting Saturday and guest play beginning Sept. 8.
Founder’s Crossing construction underway:
Construction is underway on Founder’s Crossing, a $200 million development in southeast Sioux Falls anchored by Good Samaritan.
Spanning nearly 100 acres at 57th Street and Veterans Parkway, it will feature various senior living options linked to a Sanford Health clinic and a Lewis Drug store.
The first phase, set to open in early 2026, includes about 40 villas.
Additionally, a four-story building by Fiegen Construction will offer 120 independent living apartments, 32 assisted living apartments, and 32 memory care units.
The on-site clinic and drug store will serve both residents and the surrounding community, making it convenient for seniors and their families.
The project will also keep 7 acres along Veterans Parkway for future commercial use.
The remaining phases are expected to open in 2028.
